- Alain Delon, the most stylish actor you never knew about (if you're American that is). Sometimes called the most beautiful man, and though I feel like that may bit of an exaggeration, what isn't is that Alain Delon was a style icon that changed men's fashion and is one of the most influential men in fashion. In this part of the Style Icon series, I tell you who he is, what he was famous for, and why he is a style icon.

Have you seen any movies with Alain Delon? If so, which is your favorite? Let me know!
To IMDB ! ... nope, never heard of him, never saw anything.
P.S. The Earth is flat
@@hakrj12 😂
Alain Delon confirmed ugly af
Plein Soleil, easily. What a relaxing yet gripping film that is. The remake isn't half bad too.
Haven't seen too many of his movies but got introduced to him through the movie Le Cercle Rouge where he costarred with my all time favorite actor Gian Maria Volontè. I love both Le Cercle Rouge and Le Samuraï. Both are definitely worth checking out.
La tulipe noire, I dunno the english name of it 😅💀 I love him since 2008, being this 8 year old lil girl, watching this movie over and over again cause why not 😂 I decided to learn french at school 3 years later because of him, so thanks Alain. I can communicate with french ppl because of u 🙏😂 Still adore him and I hope it'll never stop, cause he's amazing 👌
He's extremely famous in France.
Absolutely...from what I hear, he's pretty much the French equivalent of Brad Pitt for us Americans
@@DemetriosLevi Yeah absolutely. He regularly shows up all over French TV even though he's quite old now.
not only in france but in all europe.
He's way greater than Brad Pitt
Famous in Russia, Japan, China, South America...
Brad Pitt of the 60's. My mum's generation was proud to have a man to compare everyone else against. It is said that Alain Delon was perfectly symmetrical about his longitudinal axis, basically meaning that he could be filmed/photographed from any angle (99% of the population is not symmetrical, meaning being filmed from the left would produce different qualitative results than being filmed from the right side). At that time, it was common practice for movie directors to ask every actor what side they DIDN'T want to be filmed from, and Alain Delon had no problem with that, making him a preferred actor for many movie directors as usually that meant less hassle with the film's logistics.
Dang I had no idea about that! Man, that's a cinematographers dream haha the man was blessed in the face department for sure...thanks for sharing those awesome facts!
Yes! His face is perfect, his prophile is very angelical, has a sad child like expression while his eyes have an enigmatic almost angry stare, and he has bigger irises than most people, he was truly blessed with a beauty that I have never seen before, also his body was very alined with his face, meaning he was graceful , in movement, he looked effortless, he had muscle definition but was slim, he looked very comfortable in his body, he appeared completely nude in a film, had a care free attitude, that gave him a very sexy and adorable feel to him, he is living prove there is no need for a men to be really tall or obsesses in a gym to be sexy or desired, Alain 's charisma was his biggest trait, he would always seem passionate about the moment, I have seen interviews and he is such a gentleman at the same time flirts and smiles a lot, very confident and atentive.
@@brendacastillo8146 his irises aren't big, his pakebral fissure length isn't that big, which makes his irises appear bigger
@@mochisowner I had to look that up, and then go and see pics of his eyes again lol.I don't know, his palpebral fisures do apear smaller than most people but I still think that his irises are bigger, and there for the white space is less , also consider that his eyes are big, if I look at my pupils and others I notice they are way bigger than Alain's, Alain's pupils look like a dot almost, letting the blue stand more, that is not común, people achieve this with lenses, to look like anime characters.
@@brendacastillo8146 claire nakti did an astrology video about beauty and apparently it's a moon ruled thing, explaining the child-like face and watery eyes
He is extremely famous all around the world! Its surprisingly that the people are hearing about him now. His name was always related to Beauty.
Your are 100% right his style is in his being he has all the beauty and rough coming out of his soul. The most beautiful man ever.
I discoved this actor in an instagram video today, couldn't stop looking at him.
I'm telling ya, he's got that way about him haha!
a LMAOOOOO I FORGOT HE ADMITTED TO HITTING WOMEN TOO OOF
a its so weird how he would say homophobic things when he has been confirmed to be a closeted bisexual lmao... goes to show how far a pretty face can get you in life huh?
@@aimforlifenow yeah, I looked for info about him and found out he's a racist and homophobic assh*le.
a yeah! you can look up his relationship to Luchino Visconti, and more men will probably pop up as being romantically involved with Alain.
That’s how I felt when I first seen Alain Delon. He’s captivating and charismatic. He’s timeless.
This man is perfection!
I discovered him less than a year ago and he is the most beautiful man I have ever seen, watch him in a movie and you'll be in love forever, he just has that efect, his eyes are mesmerizing, he wasn't super tall or muscled pack, it was his strong personality mixed with his delicate and graceful outer apearence, a contradiction.
Not compared to Muhammad Ali!
@@user-jr2vy2el6f Muhammad ali is an boxer you c#unt
@@user-jr2vy2el6f what does mohammed ALi have to do with him? lol because alain is miles above him in looks and alain is an actor not a boxer.
Delon is by far the best of all. Saw all his movies except few at his early career.
Le clan des Siciliens, Borsalino, la Piscine, Melodie en sous-sol, 2 hommes dans la vile, le Gitan, Mr Klein, Plein soleil, Le samourai, le cercle rouge....Most iconic movie star ever!
Le clan des Siciliens sounds right up my ally! Definitely gonna watch that and more
Bro this guy is like an international superstar even in Iran people know him
I understand that...but like I showed, he never got big in Hollywood thus not being as well known in the US as other major celebrities
@@DemetriosLevibro alain delon is a superstar see tiktok more billion views ,whathefuck , the first person make it, alain delon
Beautiful man beautiful stuly
The most beautiful man ever
Yet another great video. Alain is a beautiful man; just like this Levi guy
😂😂😂 My face is red!
Oh, man. Reading comments referring to Delon as "this guy" or "this dude" makes me feel old. He was THE guy and THE dude for decades. Untouchable in style, beauty and charisma.
Alain Delon made films for Visconti, Melville, Goddard, great crime, romantic and drama films two with Jean Gabin, a few films in the U.S. and Italy too. Delon with Gabin, Ventura, Belmondo plus a ton of other french actors are some of the greatest in the world. I love his earthly films such as La Veuve Couderc or crime thrillers such as Melodie en Sous-Sol, Le Clan des Siciliens, Deux Hommes dans la Ville, many in fact.
A french person who hasn't heard of Alain Delon has been living in a cupboard.
My favourites, The Samourai and The Burned Barns with the sublime actress Simone Signoret, are unforgettable. Like good wine, the older, the better he was. He himself often said that being handsome isn't enough. A man very charismatic on screen and in life. I enjoyed his interviews; no journalist could get the better of him, with this particular dangerous smile on his face, he could be very incisive with them.
@@francinesicard464 Yes, like that dangerous smile, never thought of that, but yes, he had that.
Scrolling the internet is how I "discovered" Delon, too. A couple of years ago, I came across a pic of Ali McGraw dancing with this man and was like, "whoa, who's THAT?" In my quest to become damn near fluent in French, I incorporated French music and movies. Le Samourai is as sick as it is slick. I also love Deux Hommes Dans La Ville, La Piscine & Plein Soleil among others. Delon is not just a beautiful face but talented and very smart!
Ay, you get it! Incorporating movies and music is definitely one of the best ways to learn a new language, so I need to do the same with Greek...kudos to you for actually going through with that! I'll have to check out those films...definitely need to watch more than Zorro haha!
Huge Fan of Alain Delon!!! I grew up watching his movies and studied a few. His best work is definitely the French Film Noir (The Sicilian Clan, Le Samourai, Borsalino, Melodie en Sous-sol, Le Cercle rouge, Un Flic, Flic Story) I have to ad Borsalino, La Tulipe Noire, Plein soleil (Mr. Ripley)... I could go on and on as the guy is a Movie God and yes he is not too bad looking LOL. It's like the American saying: Women wanna be with him and men wanna be him. The guy hypnotizes the camera everytime he is in front of it. If you love Cinema then you love Alain Delon...
I definitely need to watch some more movies of his...as a cinema junkie I feel it's my duty haha!
@@DemetriosLevi You would be right LOL
All classic movies ✌
@a I still like his movies
I actually didn't know about Alain Delon either- until this video. 😂
Haha! Welcome to the club! 😂
There is a fine song from Madona about (en hommage à ?) Alain Delon:
Beautiful killer
Oh my good Lord... Only an American would thing Alain Delon was a new found discovery. 🙄
I'm considered Euro-snob by US standards...we don't need to take it to a whole other level. Knowing about another one of the million narcissist celebs out there isn't something to be proud of
No, not at all. It is all about generations 🙂 Delon is nearly 90 yo today. No surprise if young people don't know him. Besides, the way older people were used to go to cinemas is over. Few young people watch old classical movies, either in the US or in Europe. The cinematographic culture has changed. I am French : lots of people here don't know who Paul Newman is. Some have never seen a movie with Jean Gabin 🙂
In the 80's there was an Alain Delon film season. Maybe channel 4 or 3. Heavily advertised as I remember. French, Italian, German and Hindi films were shown on TV not now though.
Wow, that's really neat! I need to look into more foreign films other than British TV
Bro. This guy was the original Tom Ripley in the Talented Mr. Ripley which was titled Purple Moon. I feel his style in that movie was more like Jude Law's character, Dickie Greenleaf in the 1999 version. He definitely had that spretzatura vibe.
Great stuff as always! Alain Delon is my favorite actor.
Thanks my man! Hope I did it justice!
I agree with you. His Zorro movie was my introduction to Alain Delon. And like you i didn’t know who he was then I put it together.
Hey! Good to know I'm not alone in that haha! Such a fun movie
He was like the brad pitt of the boomer generation
Haha! Perfectly put
I prefer the Henry Cavill of our generation
He’s not a boomer. He’s part of the silent generation.
Brad is ugly compared to him
@LanaInAmerica yep
Same thing happened to me. You are not alone! Thanks for sharing your video.
And thank you for watching!
Love this video, super well put together!
Thank you so much! I reall appreciate it!
Purple Noon. The original “Talented Mr. Ripley.” Pretty darn stylish movie.
He’s the most beautiful man in the world. Stylish, so handsomely tailored. Absolutely pleasure to the eye. ❤
I think the reason he is so eye catching in the photo, is because he is extremely handsome and some might say the most handsome men in the world.
Same happened with me when I have seen him first time
glad to see you in my feed!
I have loved Alain Delon since childhood! He remains my favorite Zorro too (I also recall this movie as a kid). You omitted Steve McQueen as a style icon too. Cute video.
Thank you! I did end up making a style Icon video of Steve McQueen later, so definitely check that one out...thank you for watching though! I really appreciate it
Purple Noon was a really good movie though, about Betrayal.
I'm definitely gonna check that out because I've only heard good things about it...betrayal stories are always great!
YES, I have the (1960) movie, "Purple Noon," stored on my DVR. Turner Classic Movies Channel, featured Alain Delon, as one of their stars, for their Annual "Summer Under The Stars," whereby a different movie star is featured for (24) hours, each day and night, during the month of August. Alain Delon's movies, were shown on August 31, 2020. I watched the movie, "Purple Noon," and it is fantastic! I, also, liked his chemistry with actress, Shirley McClain, in the (1964) movie, "The Yellow Rolls Royce," which is also stored on my DVR.
@@DemetriosLevi the ‘Purple Noon’ movie is the French language version of ‘The Talented Mr Ripley’ movie basically. They’re both based on the same book.
Alain Delon, Steve McQueen and Jordan Peterson all in one channel??!!! I am in LOVE
Hahaha! Thank you! 3 fantastically talented men...wh0 wouldn't respect them?
We still are naughty about him bro.
Hahaha!
He really reminds me of Ewan McGregor for some reason. Alain Delon was/is so beautiful!!

What’s the music playing during the video called?
If you're of a certain age you've seen/heard/love, Alain Delon -- a major French superstar of the 1960s and 70s.
Delon and fellow actor Jean Paul Belmondo defined French cinema man heros in the latter 20th century.
Great looking fashion icon

Clever, witty, incisive and true!
Good job!🏆

(Imperfectly, yes - but: 100%)
Alain Delon ❤😊
What’s the song in this video called?
He's definitely a cool looking guy, I remember just leaving school in the 90s in Scotland 🏴 at that point there was a helluva lot of French films on the TV. Back then I even noticed this guy whoever he was was in just about all of them well a lot of them, I would wait till the end and see the names that came up you had to be eagle eyed because there was no rewinding if you missed the end credits back in the days of innocence, just who was this suave French guy with women falling at his feet well it was monsieur Delon. I even became quite a fan of subtitles ignoring any films that were dubbed 🤮. It opened a whole new area of films for me with some of the plot lines in them quite risqué, film noir. Right up until this day I have a passion for such movies along with la femme dangereuse I mean some of the French women were too much for a young teenage boy on a voyage of discovery hormones racing along with blood pressure. Ye it brings it all back infact I think I'll go on the look out for some classic cinema francais.
Now you got me interested! Since I'm far passed the hormone racing teenage time of my life now, I'm gonna check them out...thanks mate!
Smart beautiful
Did you know that no one can touch their left elbow with their left hand?
I did not know that...and the worst part was I tried just now 😩 Thank you for the *COOL FACTS*
este nerd del estilo me gusta .
Estoy feliz de escucharlo jaja! Muchas gracias mi amigo 🙏
Delon actually got offered the lead role in scarface but rejected it because of his english
As Tony Montana?? No way...I'll be honest, I can't see anyone other than Al Pacino doing it
@@DemetriosLevi i read that he got offered the part of vito corleone in Godfather but he rejected it because he didnt want to learn how to speak in english with an italian accent.
He's the French James dean
“Stylish???” To Dickens with “stylish”: the man was beautiful! Even edged Brad Pitt in prime!
Wow! Yeah I've never even heard of this dude before! Certainly has fantastic style!
btw it's pronounced "Can" apparently 🤷🏻♂️
I should of consulted you before filming...I knew I got that wrong 😩 thanks my man!
I'm a 70 years old and I just discovered him. I chose to watch a movie he was in with Shirley MacLaine and Ingrid Bergman. The movie was called the yellow Rolls-Royce. Not a bad movie. His performance was not all that great because he was still pretty young and played and Italian hustling tourist
Yellow Rolls-Royce was the worst movie for him because it was produced by Hollywood. I saw it and was highly disappointed. Hollywood just could not capture the European soul.
He used to be Delon. In the 50s, 60s, and even 70s he was Delon, not now though, even he said that.
Another legend, this time from Italy,is Marcello Mastroianni.
Alain Delon is the Marlon Brando of France. Loved the movie La Piscene & Purple Noon.
He was the first crush I had at the ripe old age of 5 and it's true when they say a girl never forgets her first love. May his 'Dying with dignity' be peaceful and quick. Bon voyage mon amour. Je taime 💙💔
Ehm. Alain Delon also has a clothing line. Shirts, suits. Stuff like that. I guess it’s not important to mention
Are those Oliver People’s glasses? King?
I wish! No, they look like them but I got them on GlassesUSA. I forgot the brand but they were a great price!
Please do an Austin Powers style video.
Yeah, baby!!
You have never heard of Alain Delon before????? have you been living under a rock?
How many time do I gotta say this? I DID via Zorro and he wasn't famous in the US because he wasn't in Hollywood. How hard is that to understand, Norma? That's like an Indian getting mad at you for not knowing his favorite Bollywood actor. Put your thinking cap on
@@DemetriosLevi wow. no, it's not beeing an idiot on my part. It 's beeing totally ignorant on yours. Alain Delon was one of the defining actors in Europe. And there are other movies made in this world apart from American. Put your thinking cap on and try to watch some that are made beyond your own country. You'd be amazed.....
@@DemetriosLevi its not the same thing, europe is europe , bollywood its a whole different world😂😂

An anti-massmigration nationalist as well, which makes him all the more awesome.
Same with Brigitte Bardot.

I recently said to a friend that Kim Jisoo is the female version of Alain Delon in the 2020's.
In my whole life (67), those faces of her and him are the most perfect I ever. seen. He's an idol of my youth and she's for my old age. Perfect aesthetic! I love them both. My best of him Borsalino, Plein soleil (Talented Mr Ripley), La Piscine, Le Samourai, Mr Klein, Rocco and brothers, etc. My best of her DduDuDdu, HowYouLikeThat, Forever young, KillThisLove, etc .It's worth to watch her especially all these tributes videos. Alain Delon has never been more beautiful than in La Piscine (the pool).
He reminds me of Ewan Mcgregor. He made a Western with Dean Martin.
Now that you say it I see that...Dean Martin is another great one lol

I knew about it during the making of this video haha! He never got popular in America so most people here don't know him or his films unfortunately...considering I'm a film geek, it's very embarrassing to admit hahal
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fun Fact: Alain Delon almost played as Michael Corleone but he was not fluent with the English language, so they went with Al Pacino instead
Delon was very handsome when young up to age 50s even. But he would have paled into insignificance standing next to Muhammad Ali!
Alain Delon had legions of admirers during his prime, he was an icon.
He was definitely more popular and significant in Europe and Asia than Muhammad Ali.
