Guys, please make sure you use a silicone sealant. We took my wife's car to get sorted before I saw this video and they used GLUE don't use glue it will fail and will become brittle. Silicone and loads of it but neat. I promise follow this video to the letter it's saved me a lot of money. Just to get the water out the carpet now

Just put a tube fitted just right size down the drain hole, without taking anything off car. make sure it goes down tube 6" at least. This way your past the spot where it leaks. then add silicone on the pillar hole very acuratly.

You didnt mention the other end of the tube and didnt check it. That goes through the firewall (bulkhead) via a rubber grommet adaptor. These often come out causing the water to run down into the footwells. These need to be checked and fixed as well. Otherwise you may well still have a leak as these leak like the end of a tap dripping or dribbling.

Those drain line problems apply to Audi also. I can recommend to wrap a few layers of self-fusing silicone tape to fix this. Unfortunately my EOS is now ecomomically dead. FSI engine -> timing chain tensioner, low power (injectors maybe?) and other stuff. VW makes a great car but keeps failing with modern engines. I really loved my EOS :-( sad! With old car engines 170.000km were no problem...

I didn't wanted to open the whole plastic moulding and bought plumber grade spray silicon. Through the front opening sprayed fair amount and smeared further through a guided wire just to make sure not blocking the internal lumen..10 min drying and tried water test all good.

My son has one of these and the roof has stopped working and checking with vcds it's showing a fault on G558 which we belive is in the location of where you have just been on this video . The vcds measuring blocks is showing a V rather than the 0 or 1 I'm wondering if you have an idea as to where the sensor plugs in so we can replace it .

      Hi
Sensor is in roof frame, you'll need to open roof with diagnostic equipment and if you would like to access the plug it's behind the roof bar
You'll see this on our video where we change the roof lock

Just watched your video on A pillar drains, well done. I recently had the driver's door replaced due to a deer running into our car. Since the new door has been installed water has been accumulating along the sill. Also notice after heavier rain, water drains from the door drain when I open the door. My bigger concern is the water accumulating inside the door. Any suggestions?

This would be great except I cannot get the sun visor holder caps off (beginning at 1:00). I tried a small Craftsman pick, then a small screwdriver, but all I did was scratch the holder. Cap didn't even budge. I doubt the year matters, but mine is a 2011 EOS.

Hi, any thoughts? my sunroof gets stuck midway but there isn't a gear noise. I can't tell why is jamming. I have to hand push hard for it to move all they way. Is it possible the motor has weakened? 2013 EOS, bought at an insurance auction, so I don't know prior use history, with only 56k miles

    • @CabrioletTech
      @CabrioletTech  Před rokem

      Hello,
The sunroof tracks are probably very dry, The sunroof track can be accessed with roof partially open
Hence why the motor is tripping on thermal overload
You need to remove the sunroof washout and grease
Do not put grease on cables as they should not be greased
      Any questions let me know
