    ➡️ Did you know that...
    * 82% of all male dancers forget most of their turnpatterns while social dancing?
    * 98% women care more for fun and connection on the dancefloor than turnpatterns?
    ➡️ Guys, are you getting frustrated at times when you are doing the same move over and over just because you keep forgetting all the other moves?
    ➡️Ladies, do you sometimes have the feeling that your dancepartner hardly makes any connection? That he is just not there in the moment?
    Well, Those times can be over!!!
    First of all guys: There is no way on earth you can remember all the moves that you have learned taking classes. Do you want to know why?
    Well, let me ask you a simple question:
    When you are taking Salsa dance classes what part of the brain do you think is more activated? The cognitive part or the emotional part of the brain?
    Correct! When you are taking Salsa dance classes the COGNITIVE part of your brain is more activated. This is because each and every move is explained and demonstrated, the music is not very loud and the lights are turned on.
    Let me ask you a second simple question:
    When you are going to a party for some social dancing, what part of the brain is now more activated you think? The cognitive part or the emotional part of the brain?
    Correct again! The EMOTIONAL part of the brain! At a party the music is loud, the light are dimmed and all women look even more spectaculair than they normally do!
    You can see it as 2 different rooms. In one room there is the DATABASE with all te great, cool & sexy moves. The other room is where the FEELING and the MUSIC is.
    In what room do you think the ladies are?
    That is right! In the second room! Waiting for the guys to join them, enjoying the wonderful music, the fun and the connection!
    So ladies, if until now you where wondering why men are smiling less than women on the dancefloor, why they seem a bit absent while dancing, not really in the moment enjoying the music and the dance... This has nothing to do with you.
    Most men are locked into the Salsa Matrix, looking for their database with all the moves. And men, as you now know... you never had a chance. UNTIL NOW!
    A long time ago I started searching for answers and I found something shocking!!!
    Fist of all I found that 80% of everything the best dancers are doing on the dancefloor consists out of only 6 turns!!!
    🔥SIX TURNS! That is it! 🔥
    The other 20% percent is the stuff that only 10% of the best dancers in the world are doing.
    Now I don't know about you but being able to do 80% of everything the best dancers are doing sounds great to me!
    Second thing I found is that 98% women care more for fun and connection on the dancefloor than for turnpatterns. This was another shock to me. I was always afraid I would bore my dance partner if I was not able to make her do a lot of moves.
    Then one night I decided not to go out for a dance (in that part of my life I literaly went out dancing 7 nights a week). Why did I stay home that night? I think I came to a point of frustration. Going out every night doing the same moves over and over again got me to a point wondering if this was all there was.
    I decided to sit down and take a piece of paper and I asked myself a simple question:
    HOW MANY DIFFERENT TURNS CAN I MAKE MY PARTNER DO WHEN DANCING?
    On the top of that piece of empty paper I wrote a F (female). On the bottom I wrote down the letter M (male).
    And then something beautiful happened!
    My wish for you is that you will learn this simple step by step 6 Turn Pattern System as I show you in the video. It has totally tranformed not only my dancing but also the way I connect with my dance partner and the music on the dancefloor. And so it can do for you.
    If you have any questions, suggestions or ideas please write them down below in the commentbox. I will try to reply within 24 hours.

      It is in their interest not to make it simple. Unless they are losing repeat customers. But any teacher who doest nail the basics is not worth the time. Get the basics, take inspiration from great dancers and create your own routines.

This video literally turned what I was seeing as graduate level calculus into basic math in terms of understanding the majority of salsa dancing. It looks so complex but it's so easy once you simplify it like you did in this video! Thank you so much! I can't wait to practice and become comfortable w/ social salsa dancing.

    You described exactly my experience! Very useful and wise instruction. Altho i am dancing on 2, this is really useful to me. I especially appreciate the info about why it is that my mind becomes totally blank at the dance!! And this is how my brain works also...realizing that we are only doing a few essential moves, rather than getting caught up in so many details that of course go out the window when the girl is in front of me! I'll check out your other offerings.

    Incredible video! I feel like I've found a kindred spirit. I break down Lindy Hop (aka Swing Dancing) the same way that you break down Salsa. With 3 Variables (Who turns, Direction of turn, and Where the turn happens) to play around with in a Basic Swing-out means exactly 100 Variations. It's an amazing way to teach! Bravo! I can't wait to see your hand-holds video. You count 7, I count 8. My guess is that you don't count hands-free. Oh and I love that you also include Hand Elevation (over head, shoulder and waist high). I can't wait to watch your other videos.

    this is so helpful....and what he described about remembering all your turns it's true. I freeze on the dance floor when i am dancing with a girl because i trying to remember what moves to do and if she knows it. I end up looking like a one trick pony with my basic turn....before i watched this video.....i actually started using the Enchufa or open break as they call it and it's such a helpful turn because i know how to do it. I am taking Salsa lessons and to be honest it focuses more on the moves than on the footwork itself. I have seen guys doing many turns on the dance floor that have nothing to do with the rhythm of the song. Us Latino people dance with the rhythm of the song. To both Anna & Salsaventura. There are more than 6 turns if you are speaking from the Ladies perspective. When measuring both left, right, and front of the lead only. I have been teaching for 25 years and 6 is an inaccurate measure. And I am not speaking of hand positions, but rather ladies footwork in relation to the man.

    • @guygutierrez263
      @guygutierrez263 Před 5 lety

      Look at 6:28 as he does the inside cross body turn. I see a lot of leads do this. I haven’t learned it and I am wondering if this is a solid way for follows to understand what is being lead.

  • @ForrestOutman
    @ForrestOutman Před 4 lety +1

    I'm curious why you don't include inside turns that pass on the right side turning on 5,6,7? It seems the more natural choice as it relates to the same forward breaking basic used in all the other figures. I teach very similar with that exception. I teach back breaking figures all together as well, such as you see in Cumbia and Casino.

    Great instruction. I'm a beginner (lead), I don't know yet how to give the follower the hand or body language signals with push, pull, stop, to indicate which way the next turn will be. At 5:53 there are 4 different pushes/pulls of the lead's left hand. How does the follow know what the lead eventually intends? I try to give signals by hand positions but my partner and I end up stopping our movement and she's looking at me confused. I've also seen leads leading the follow into turns with some muscle. I thought I could give subtle hand pushes/pulls/tosses to indicate how the next turn will go but it's leaving the follow confused.

    This is exactly what I was looking for. Thankful for the individual that stated the dancing started at 4:10 (maybe something to put in the description) but I absolutely loved the instruction. Also read the description and loved that too!! You showed moves at a good pace and gave me something solid to practice. I can learn these 6 basic steps/turns and feel like I’m doing more then my same old basic steps. Looking forward to mastering this so I can use my “emotional” brain on the dance floor, connect, and have fun. Thank you so much. This is now my salsa learning channel!!!

    Hey I was watching your video on my Xbox and loved it. However, when I tried finding your video again on my phone under the search salsa tutorials it did not come up. I had to remember the specific name of this video in order to find your channel. Not sure what that was about, but I thought how much of a shame it would be if anyone searching for a tutorial to not see yours because I thought it was the best one out. That 's a very good video, it' s very rare.
    However, turns 4 and 6 look the same to me, since I look at lady's step. (prep on 3, pulse on 5).
    Or do I miss something? (apart from the guy' s back step)
    Now you add the Copa and the spiral turn (travelling turn on 2 and 3) and you get the 90 percent.

    • @salsaventura
      @salsaventura  Před 5 lety +2

      Very good remark! 4 and 6 are the same for the lady! However; the turn feels different since the guy is at the other side. Copa’s are in system #2
