  • April 2024's edition of the "Cars and Caffeine at Combermere" breakfast car meet saw an overflowing turnout of classic cars, sports cars, supercars, veteran cars and everything inbetween!
    In this video expect a full walkaround of the seemingly never-ending array of cars attending this meeting at the Old Piggery Cafe, plus many great sounding accelerations - this meet has got it all.
    My favourite classic cars appearing in this video included a Citroen SM, an Austin-Healey 100/6, a 1903 Sunbeam, a Bullitt replica 600BHP Ford Mustang Fastback and an Austin A35 complete with sidepipes!
    If you enjoyed my walkaround and review of possibly the best breakfast car meet on my classic car channel, then please subsribe below to ensure you don't miss out on any future uploads, and if you can't wait for next Sunday's new automotive upload then take a look at the many delights in past videos via the channel homepage - many videos of which cover past runnings of the"Cars and Caffeine at Combermere" breakfast classic car meet.
    Please let me know what your favourite classic car was in the comments - thanks for watching!

    Super video Harley, your knowledge of all makes and your commentary non-stop are simply great. I loved all the 911 Porsches also the 356 as I used to work on them many years ago.

    Just to say how much I enjoy your, and your dad's, videos. Usually watch on my smart TV. Can't comment from there hence a quick thank you from my tablet. Greetings from Cape Town. PS, there is a very vibrant classic car scene here.

    Another enjoyable video. The Volvo and Austin Healey are very nice. Volvo's were actually assembled here in Nova Scotia for years but eventually moved to Mexico. That Citroen SM is another beautiful car. I remember when they first came on the market. Looking forward to your next video. Great job Harley

    Wonder if the turnout was massive due to it being free to attend. Many of us are sick of being charged to show our vehicles at other organised events

      Maybe, these car meets are really popular as they are unofficial as you can come and go whenever you want and of course free

    Another great video.
    I really like the American spec. Triumph . The light blue and white stripes really look great on it.
    And the Dk. Blue Volvo.

    Hello Harley. I agree with you about the Austin Healey with its hard top looking better than a soft top. Very nice car indeed. The TVR' s i havent seen here in New Zealand, so its cool that you have recorded one on your video. I loved the cream interior of it. Sorru if i repeat myself, i remember going to a new car show in 1974. The Volkswagon Golf was on display for the first time as a new VW. Thats 50 years ago now , and people were so used to seeing the rounded shape VW beetle. It certainly looked very different. Its been modified over the years and still sells today. The little orange Austin looks cute. Back in the 1960s/ 70s. stockcars here in NZ had Austin car bdy shells over the roll cages of the stockcars. Morris Minors were popular too , because they were small and rounded shaped. I sometimes view your stockcar racing there in Britain on youtube. The red Ford Mustang MK 1 is so cool. I dont think many were made. Very good car display. Was the little orange Austin your favorite there Harley. From Carl.

      The Austin a35 was a unique one and certainly one of my highlights

      @CarTractionvids The orange colour of it makes it stand out like a sore thumb. The stockcars bodies were painted in bright colors in the 1960s/ 70s here in NZ. That Austin had me thinking of those days. I loved the stockcars. There is a racing track close to where I live here in Palmerston North But I'm not interested anymore and it's very expensive for an entrance ticket.

    A particularly good video Harley and watched it first before I watched your dad's channel this morning. Of all the cars I have owned in the past there are three I wish I hadn't sold one of which was a fabulous BMW 2002Ti but with the round rear lights, a wonderful car in every sense of the word. The Stag in that purple colour is a car I would take home today, it says everything there is to be said about the Triumph Stag. One of my friends used to own one exactly the same colour and interior back in the day and I took every possible chance I good get to ride in it albeit as a passenger. The SM is to die for. The SM could be manual I believe. That Volvo, I think it was, that drove past near the end was throwing some black rubbish out of its exhaust. Nice to see so may young people there.

    • @CarTractionvids
      @CarTractionvids  Před 4 měsíci

      Yes the SM was a stunner and manual, it attracts a lot of young people due to quite a few supercars and modified stuff there etc

    Excellent video Harley. Any chance of an interview with the owner of the 600bhp Mustang? Perhaps with an underbonnet view, or even better a passenger seat ride?!!

    Great video yet again Harley, one of the cars at the start was a Austin Healey 3000, its that and a series 1 or 2 Jag E Type that should I ever win the lottery ( helps if you but a ticket or so I've heard?) I would buy . Yes your dad was correct, the Sierra XR8 is a South African built car, a domestic market car only, so is an imported car in the UK great see one .

    • @CarTractionvids
      @CarTractionvids  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I did love that Healey and it was quite an early one, I thought that XR8 made a lovely sound

  • @gregcoleman7328
    @gregcoleman7328 Před 4 měsíci

    Wow, that was an amazing turnout! Those older Mustangs were epic, what a sound - absolutely addictive. The Healey 3000 sounded very nice too. In fact, it bought back memories of a program called “The Great Chase” by the BBC which followed the 1989 Pirelli Classic Marathon. I can say without doubt that this program got me into classic cars when I saw it as a teenager. John Chatham’s Healey 3000 GRX884D ( he also owned the very famous DD300) in car footage alone got me hooked. If you haven’t seen it, you’ll enjoy it and it is on CZcams here czcams.com/video/_gwvFoETc2o/video.html. Great video as ever Harley, great stuff!

      @@CarTractionvids glad you liked it. That AC Cobra only just pipped the Healey, despite the power advantage. I believe the Healey was running about 250bhp. It was also great to have those rally legends from the 60s on film too.
