Gulp, those pigtails are uhhh…yeah… Check out our review of Atelier Ryza 2 here - czcams.com/video/vz09s1q85dw/video.html a really nice game overall I am so pleased to have played through this one! Are you a fan? Mark
I’m sure Cultured Bucket already ordered the collector’s edition! Lol (if that existed)
Did you use the mclassic on these videos to get them to 60fps?
@@kaidorade1317 100% definitely!
@@dozenskillzproductions5505 No just render at 60FPS to improve animations :)
@@SwitchUpYt Looks great!
I am absolutely loving the content you all have been releasing lately. Having kids and a lack of time you're always pointing me to games that have not even been on my radar and saving me time! Thanks for being awesome!
Great stuff thank you mate!
You guys are my number one switch review channel. You guys are great, and it's so awesome to see your channel growing! Congratulations on over 230k subs! Esp with just the two of you! Keep up the great work guys! Stay classy 😎😉
Thank you brother!
I love the character design, never disappoint. this series keep better and better :)
I’m super excited for this! Been waiting for a sequel since Sophie One 💛
Just placed my order for this one and can't wait to get it. Really have to import the Mysterious DX trilogy as well, just so I can fill in the gaps in my NSW Atelier collection. Great review as always, and the Balbastre thing was hilarious as hell!
Best perk about the combat support system is that you now use the entire party. I always hate how some of your team rots unused because of party size.
Congrats on your success guys! This is easily my favorite switch reviews/sales news channel, you two both come off as very genuine, and that is appreciated.
Cheers mate! Mark
Been looking for my next JRPG experience and I think you may have just sold me on this one! As always… your channel never fails! Cheers guys
I love the Atelier Series and the first Sophie was my entry point. I freaking love Sophie!
congrats on the milestone!
Looks solid ! They sure been doing good with this series as they keep supporting switch and adding new features to improve the game format
Yeah it is nice to see them really doing well with it! Mark
Congratulations on y’all’s rise in the CZcams world.
The girl with the absolutely ridiculous gigantic "pigtails", she reminds me of Milim from Reincarnated as a Slime anime but the character designer added some "culture" in her 😄
"Let's find out" most iconic opening words ever
Hehehe ❤️
Didn't know this game was coming soon, great review, I'll think about picking it up! 👍
Thank you mate! It’s really lovely! Mark
Playing my first Atelier game right now with Ryza 1 on Switch, which is really good. This one looks fantastic as well, I might pick it up eventually.
Your reviews are excellent, keep up the good work.
Cheers Ryan!
Awesome, need to pick up my preorder today. I don’t usually preorder but the atelier series seem to have pretty consistent quality.
Great job guys, excellent content. Thanks for no cringy thumbnails too hah
Glad this game turned out well. Really great and thorough review!
Thank you mate! Mark
Character models and some of the environment looks great
So glad i picked this up! comfort gaming incoming
You know one day I will get around to playing an Atelier game. It's just there are so many games I think it's daunting to know where to start.
Thanks for the review! I've got quite a few Atelier games for other systems, but I've honestly never gotten very far in any of them. I'm torn between buying a newer one that will hopefully be improved and just sitting down to play one I've got. If I do get a new one, this looks solid. Though I could have done with smaller, uh, pigtails.
Yeah the new ones definitely seem the best. Ryza. But yeah I feel you gotta really focus on it till the hook hits you especially if you got other games that will distract. You can tell its gone be good but it has very light hearted pacing. You need peacefully absorb it till it hooks.
you can always wait for a sale if your doubting. SwitchUp is really good about highlighting them down the line in a sales video
@@h2amster328 Yeah, I'll probably do that. Add it to my wishlist so I can easily find it.
Looks so good. I have a bunch of these in the vita, untouched. every time I see any play of these games, it looks so classic and fun, I kind of feel guilty for not having tried any parts of the series yet. Thanks for the awesome review!
Love the regular content
Hey appreciate it mate! Mark
Huuu now i need a "katrina ballbuster" lol! Very good review im looking forward to play some of this atelier games
I tried Monark's demo yesterday and it was pretty ok, they clearly didnt have the same budget that for other megaten releases
I love giant pigtails! So adorable 😁🌴🌴
The channel got me into Ryza and then Ryza 2. I know it has its flaws but still looking forward to this one. Will likely wait for a sale because the backlog, well the less we say about the backlog probably the better...
Heheh you’re not alone there mate! Yeah it’s nice to get a series supported this well on Switch especially when you look at their other games that perform like poop! Mark
Actually hoping for the trend if sequals to the Atelier series. Pretty great series. Be nice if we got Mana Khemia games on switch.
We appreciate the lack of clickbait thumbnails, as always! 🙌🏽 (although this one is pretty hilarious l)
😂
You nailed it. Those pigtails sure look b-bonkers!
Yet another game I can't afford to get this month. Its so hard to be a gamer when you are a college student lol. Great review as always guys. Looking forward to playing this game.
Don't worry, once you can afford the games you won't have time to play them anymore 😭
Not gonna lie, the thumbnail got me. I see your a man of culture as well 😎
More JRPG reviews are always good :)
I have to wait till next week to get my copy. And I should finish Sophie 1 before starting this one.
Yeah, thankfully there's a really nice back story to watch as well if needed. Mark
Ugh, I wish combat was more like Ryza but nonetheless, I'm very excited to receive my copy on Monday and continue the story of Sophie! Thank you for the review!
Hey thanks for watching mate! Mark
Currently enjoying Ryza 2 and totally agree with the escapism comment. However I think the costume of a certain character is a bit above my personal fan service threshold for Sophie 2 and worry it would annoy me too much which is a shame as it looks like I would enjoy the rest. May wait for a sale & see how I feel at a later date.
You can unlock and equip different costumes... I just....uhhhh.... Forgot
@@SwitchUpYt are there any costumes that aren’t “minors have massive bewbzzzz in anime fantasy land”, or that remove the objectionable panty/boob camera framing? This game looks like it could be so much fun, but it’s working so very hard to make me feel not welcome with its cinematography :/
I have been wanting to jump into the Atelier series, unfortunately I just cannot spare the time needed to take on such a challenge. Its on the list but the backlog needs to seriously deplete itself before it will become playable for me.
ソフィーのアトリエが海外でも人気で嬉しい。優しくて愛に溢れたソフィーは一番大好き、続編が出たことが心から嬉しかった。
Hey guys, if you haven't tried the game Skul, I think you guys really should. It's a great rogue lite game on the Switch, similar to Isaac in game play, but side scrolling. Great fun, I highly recommend it.
I've played it yeah it's decent! Mark
Normally I’d say yeah I’m buying this now but I’ve put myself on a game spending ban until I’ve worked my way through my latest purchase which was the Danganronpa games never played them before but I’m on the first one and I’m kicking myself for never playing it earlier it’s brilliant!!
Those damn big pigtails always get me 🥲👀
I've never played an Atelier game. I think I might wait for a sale. They're definitely on my never-ending backlog list.
Got interested in this series after Rayza, but I’ve never played any game, this one will get into the whish list but KT doesn’t do more than 50% off, so I won’t be waiting for a deep sale.
Played 10h so far and I love the game!
I would like to see a review of those joycon at the 9:05 minute mark.
Looks very entertaining. Time to play Atelier series for the 1st time.
The alchemy sounds like a polyomino board game - which I love. So I am in!
Bet Ircha is loving this
She bloody will be!
Never even heard of the Atelier series until I watched a review for this game on Switch Watch. I've never really played JRPG's before. What would be your recommendation for an entry to the genre? Great review, looked positive. Appreciate your efforts guys.
Honestly, this or Rysa 2 would be a good start JRPG but the grand daddy start point = Dragon Quest 11S
Ah yes… something you know I approve Mark. I’m gonna play this after some stuff tonight.
I knew you would be here mate - and I knew you would be buying this one haha! Mark
@@SwitchUpYt what can I say? I love my pigtails. 🤣
This game style looks amazing! It is on my list now! (totally not because of the... Ehm.. Big stuff..)
Pigtails are a choice! Haha! Mark
@@SwitchUpYt She's beautiful, she's rich, she has huge..........tracks of land!
@@ZamWeazle yeah tracks of land nothing else
@@Hamox 😆
I loved Ryza 2 but played for... just around 20h. It is a very fun and addictive JRPG that requires time to tinker with alchemy etc. and I sadly don't have the time anymore. I would love for a game like this to be on iOS! I mean, yeah, the switch it's portable, but is it really? :\
I really want to pick this one up even if I haven’t finished the first (I’m really enjoying it and I enjoy atelier games in general), but I have spent way too much on Arceus and Horizon Forbidden West 😅
I'll fight you on the click bait thumbnails. But lucky for you I like what yall review. Haha
Speaking of ridiculous, gigantic pigtails… Skies of Arcadia is in need of a remake. =)
Great vid, would probably miss this series entirely if not for this channel.
Cheers JT I've not played that other pigtail featuring game!
@@SwitchUpYt Oh, Skies of Arcadia is an absolute classic. Well worth your time! I played Legends on the GameCube and have such fond memories.
I love giant pigtails 😏. Another one for the backlog pile 😥
I still havent completed another Atelier title, but I will be sure to check this out once ive completed it. Thanks for the review!
This is a really nice place to start if you’re interested! Mark
The only reason I didnt buy ryza 2 is because i wasn't sure about the combat, it looked confusing, even though i loved the character design. This ones characters look more obviously stereotypical even by their appearance but thats ok I suppose. I play more if i like the gameplay, the character personalities are secondary. And I love gathering and crafting. So thanks guys! I might see if I can get this in physical but otherwise I can get digital I suppose.
Mark I’m completely with you. I do believe that they should put forth some extra effort to breathe life into these games.
It would make a big big difference honestly. Mark
Can you do a video on the new patch for GTA trilogy?
Should I play sophie one as its hard to come by now for physical
I have played a lot of these games (My first being Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana when we still where allowed a male protagonist ), and while I have always loved JRPG's I may be just getting to old. I just turned 32, and while I have played all manner of JRPG's since I was in elementary, I find it hard to get thru most of these recent entry's. It's each story having the main theme being friendship and Innocent love, it just is hard to get into when you get past 30. Not to mention some of the characters are given that extremely high pitched girl voice, that makes my migraine flair up. Tales of Bursaria is the more mature story that I wish we could see more of.
Love a good rpg. This is a great review. Gotta love big....pigtails... 🤣🤣🤣
uuumm correction here, for the music its combined with chinese traditional instrument, called erhu, you can google it or find it in youtube of how it sounds, its not a japanese traditional music instrument, anyway this atelier filled with many chinese aesthetic, alette and pirka is one of them
I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time now. Shame it’s not available right this minute! :(
Really? I thought it was out?
@@SwitchUpYt yeah, you’re right. I was confused - mixing it up with Rune Factory 5.
which is better ryza 2 or this? planning to buy.
There has never been a bad atelier game so it hears that this keeps up with the rest of the series.
I want all of the Atelier games for the switch....
Was it a good buy picked it up brand new for 25$?
ii dont play much JRPG /anime games, but 99% of the reason i want this game, cause she has the coolest coat ive seen in a very long time.
Did u guys change your thumbnail 🥺
Little disappointed that the psn big in Japan sale didn’t include any atelier games
I’m waiting for the ‘hollow knight is on sale - buy it now’ video 😆
Oh yes!
Switch up is the best :)
I really am glad that this series is still going. But nothing really beats the No.1 for me which is Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana on PS2. This game is actually the one that developed my gamer instincts ever since.
Its kind of sad though since the charm of the recent games is not the same as I felt with Atelier Iris Eternal Mana. I just hope they'll port the older games on Switch.
Atelier Iris was my first ever Atelier game also that series was way more story/plot driven and closer to tradtional jrpg
A team of two? I wonder how long it is until we see your daughter write and publish her first review on the channel, Mark. 😉
Can't be long mate, she was playing Monster Hunter Rise earlier!
Well looks like ill be muting the voices on this one to lol
Boobtelier Sophboob 2, wow, can't believe I missed part one
😂 I laughed out loud
This is going for £35 on Amazon UK! Get this now everyone after a while atelier games tend to become difficult and expensive to get a hold of, don't sleep on this
That's a decent price! Mark
Should i play the first one before this?
Did this has and anime? It so which was first the game of the anime? So much fan service lol
"Hmmm. This outfit doesn't seem to cover much. Better wear some full length purple sleeves."
😂
Should I play Sophie 1 before 2? Am I gonna miss some references or storyline?
No need really there's a big back story video you can watch
@@SwitchUpYt thanks! Gonna buy it now hehe
Man I would wish they would take their time wiht those games and make them more polished and maybe instead of bring them out on a yearly base, bring them out on a biyearly base
I still have yet to pick up ANY of the Atelier games. I probably should.
I really want to get into the Atelier series but I get so overwhelmed trying to decide where to start.
This one is honestly a perfectly fine point to start with. The original Atelier Sophie barely had a story and there's a little recap video in the game menu anyway.
@@ChiGyu620 Awesome, thank you!
Sold
If NPC’s spoke in JRPG’s “my arm is aching from holding it up for so long look” 😂😂😂
Praise Yah
I'm not gonna lie, big anime... pigtails are like an instant buy for me.
Is this Atelier better than the Thighs one?
Is the ps4 version 60 FPS?
I can see the plus points.
Yeeahh, the "pigtails" are really huge
I haven't even finsihed Ryza 1. The backlog is going to increase again. Playing it without a guide that's why it's taking some time. I don't know how to craft some of the materials. And really the tutorial for crafting didn't make it any easier to understand until you actually craft. I really like these kind of games but sadly adult working life makes it hard balance.
Mine still delay 😭
