  • I interview Ricky, an Australian expatriate who made the life-altering decision to move to Thailand with his beloved Thai wife in 2021. The journey took an unexpected turn when tragedy struck just three months ago, as Ricky's wife succumbed to the devastating effects of dengue fever.
Ricky opens up about the profound impact of his wife's sudden and heartbreaking passing. He shares the raw emotions, challenges, and the daily struggles he faces while grappling with the loss of his life partner. He discusses his uncertain future. With two daughters to consider, he reflects on the difficult decisions he must make regarding whether to continue living in Thailand or to return to Australia.
Additionally, Ricky confronts negative comments he has received on his CZcams channel, sharing his perspective and addressing the judgment that has come his way during this difficult period.
Join us in this profound and poignant conversation as we unravel the layers of Ricky's story, exploring the fragility of life, the power of resilience, and the indomitable human spirit that rises from the ashes of tragedy. #rickyinissan #thairishtimes #deathofmythaiwife

I am a retired clinical psychologist and family therapist and I am a proud grandmother. This story struck a cord with me. Children are the most pure innocent human beings ❤❤
YOU made the decision to bring children into this world.
YOU chose to be an absent or part-time Father.
YOU are beside yourself when they aren’t bonding with YOU.
YOU put your CZcams job and intimacy needs before other priorities.
YOU try to fulfil your own selfish wants & needs.
YOU need to take accountability for your own actions! Just because you are younger and a male, it doesn’t make it excusable!
I have seen a lot of traumatised and broken children and families in my time. Most of the time, it’s the adults who haven’t healed their inner trauma or have not been able to self-reflect themselves. unfortunately the children bare the brink of it!
Make their Mom proud of you! ❤️

I definitely think moving on from the death of a spouse after 3 months in highly inappropriate, disrespectful and troubling but I'm not going to dictate how others live their life or navigate based on my moral compass. He ought to be solely focused on his twins and their health rather than the happiness of his groin region.

I don't know, he's being interviewed, he's not opening his heart to a therapist. I've also noticed that a lot of the men that move to Thailand to meet and marry Thai girls seem somewhat emotionally closed. It's almost like a business transaction with someone they get one with rather than a loving marriage as I'd think of it. They also seem to move on pretty quick to the next as well - as this guy has. As long as both are happy enough in the relationship and it works for them then I guess it's all fine.

Another Great video Pete, as for the guy already meeting someone else, it would of been a bit of a touchy subject if you had already known before the interview, but people do deal with bereavement in many ways, as for Dengue fever, i was hospitalised 3 weeks ago for a couple of days & it has taken many weeks to get fully better, still have the odd aches in my arms & legs, i was aware of Dengue before, but never realised how serious it can be, I hope people watching this Will take note.......

I like and enjoy your videos very much Pete. I am sorry and please excuse my little english grammar as I want to explain the truth.
Many people not know the truth behind this story of Pi Eid. I am her group of personal friend for long time and FC. Eid was very frustrate and upset jjst 2/3 day before she pass away. She tell her friends she want to separate from husband Ricki. He no work and no support her and she always tired take care of new babies by herself. She also worry and not sure if ricki met and chat with another girlfriend:( when she pass away unexpectedly, we are so shocked and can’t believe it’s real or not???
Now this man is happy to accept money and gifts from FC and making profit from CZcams. And what about the poor babies??? So sad isn’t it? Because they don’t understand and yai and Eid family said he want to live pamper life with his girlfriend and not look after babies good. He send them threating message too. Eid family still not sure about real cause of death but no do autopsy:(
I hope that all makes sense and you all understand that he is not as innocent to be :(

My 5 year old niece in the Philippines got really sick and it was Dengue confirmed by a blood test. We took her to the pediatrician who explained that the 3rd day is when the fever breaks but this is the danger period. For some people, their platelets crash so you can bleed out internally. if you do not get to a hospital within 24 hours. Our niece was fine - her platelets were holding but my Filipina wife and I learned that if anyone gets sick with a high fever then they need a blood test to check for Dengue and if confirmed follow up blood tests to check platelet counts.
. ps we live in a city so Dengue cases are rare but my sister in law had taken her daughter out to the country side so I assume this is where she encountered that type of carrier mosquito.

In my opinion, take your twins to Australia so you will receive a financial support in Australian government...besides. Australian education is much much better than in Thailand. I'm pretty sure being a professional yourself could land a good job with a good pay.
You can also sell your property in Thailand so you could start a new life with your twins in Australia, besides your family is there to support you.

Picked up on this very soon after he sadly lost his wife, maybe within a day or two. They'd not long had their twins, and it's difficult to comprehend how to cope with all of that.
The sad thing for me, was that the dark side of the internet came forward, where people were questioning whether this was true, and the level of ignorance and disrespect was monumental. Those are thoughts you might have, but you certainly do not vocalise them, or post them online for the world to see. Its fine to be toxic in your own little bubble, and only you are affected, but it is not fine to then publish those thoughts for the world to see.
A very good friend of mine, he was in his early 20's, married to the love of his life, and with a son on the way. Wife gets diagnosed with bowel cancer during the pregnancy. As you might expect, treatment was not possible until after the birth, at which point it was terminal, and she passed when the boy was just 9 months. He then, within a year, lost his Dad, then his Mum, basically all of his support network. He was an only child. I genuinely do not know how he made it out the other side. He's certainly stronger than I would have been, and the same goes for Ricky.

I live in the tropics too. Any high fever you get for more than 2 days, you'd better get medical attention and suspect dengue. They will do blood tests. If confirmed dengue, they will treat the fever and monitor your platelet count daily to ensure it does not drop to dangerous levels. My son had dengue once and we sent him in to check at the hospital by day two. He recovered well without admission. Dengue can exacerbate to dengue haemorhagic fever and can turn fatal, untreated or treated late.

As an Asian my suggestion is, for Ricky to indulge even more, in Thai culture, at least for the time being. What really matters is the twin, to raise them without losing their roots. I pray that everything ahead should be handled accordingly, the bright future will never shy from risk. Stay strong Ricky and Pete I reckon it's nice for you, to visit Ricky there....? ❤
