Had a game today just like this where both the dps of the other team were just targeting me as Ana and my teammates were like "Hey Ana can you please do your job and heal us.. " i was having a blast 😊
Playing support in OW is miserable. Especially on metal ranks.

If you're an easy target, of course they're gonna keep going for you.
You can't realistically expect the whole team to turn their backs on the enemies and give up position to go help you? The most that will accomplish is spook those dps away, but they'll be back in 10 seconds.
If you're constantly getting dove, either play closer to your team or at least your other support, so that help is always close or you switch.
That's coming from a masters tracer who loves playing against inflexible Anas like you. You either die to me and we win the fight. Or your whole team has to start peeling for you and we win the fight.
@23UAS Support is the most broken role in the game. They're basically DPS heroes who self heal and have busted abilities.

Honestly the biggest mistake I see here is playing mercy for a team that doesn't deserve it. No point sacrificing your own survivability for a team that flat out refuses to peel for divers.

@salimarg9702 The amount of times a Mei sabotaged my heals as support is way too often. Yet people dunk on Lifeweaver just cuz of his life grip when Mei can also mess with your positioning with ice wall.

Let’s not act like they’re the same because Life Grip is much worse as he can literally keep you in spawn by switching heroes and back to LW and pulling you over and over. He can easily mess up your ult so that you get 0 value with it, he can even pull you off the map on some maps…
Griefing abilities already existed with Mei walls but Lifeweaver adds more to it..
I’ve had a Lifeweaver trying to pull me off the map and pulling me on cool-down to troll me once. Fortunately it was in quickplay.

as a gold (occasionally plat 5) support the start is such a mood. You, one dps and the other support starting on high ground, but your tank and other dps on low groud in the most killable position possible and then high ground is never used for the rest of the round

You should have a “walks by healthpack while low” or “walks by healthpack while asking for healing”
As a high plat/low diamond mercy main, one tip I have is to not go into the air as much, especially when the enemy team has a hitscan.
If you watched the video, the mercy took dmg every single time they went up into the air and that dmg could’ve been avoided by instead trying to slingshot to a wall you can hide behind or a get to high ground.
I know I’m just plat/diamond which is just 1 - 2 ranks higher so I’m not really much better but yeah
Nah, its solid advice. There was a lot of moments she needed to be by her team instead of trying to take that high ground constantly with genji up there. You can take high ground against most hitscan to get away but not genji.

It's solid advice and I do it as a Bronze player myself (currently trying to main Zen and my bad habit of over-extending is setting in due to which I de-ranked but I can hold my own in a Diamond/Masters lobby in PUGS while playing Mercy that way when they have Genji, Winston etc.) That's an advice many of the top Mercy players like Skiesti and Niandra give as well. Use Superjump and Slingshot to re-position, not as a positioning tool.

I noticed that they are looking up to go vertical on the second boost.
Here's a tip:If you press Crouch you go directly vertical.Learned that by keeping up with Pharahs.
Using slingshot to go up is also really smart (just like they did in the video) because it gives you more control I’ve your movement. But if you’re just planing on going straight up then using crouch should be fine
I’m about the same skill level as the mercy so obv I don’t know as much as I most but I find when I slingshot up rather than just crouch you go higher and have more control
I legit think they would of survived sm more had they pressed couch and stayed in the air
@@ferchsakura Nope. Learning to slingshot over crouch gives you way more survivability in higher ranks. Crouch GA makes you too predictable and gives you less momentum. It's smart to use it here, otherwise good Genjis know exactly how to leftclick you on the head, for example. Too easy to track. But even the slightest tilt with the slingshot makes it three times harder. (Me, both a Mercy and a Genji player.)

as a mercy/brig main i would have changed to brig so fast on first point to deal with the divers since the tank aint really helping

Im relatively new to overwatch. cay someone tell me why that dive worked so well.. like everyone on this team was strugling to survive. Whenever I play in a dive team it rarely works and even when it does it wont be this much pressure to the other team. Was this a team comp issue or a team diff issue??? (genuenely curious question)
The biggest counter to dive is your entire team targeting and destroying the diver, and this team just wasn’t doing that. Winston and genji repeatedly killed both healers which led to the entire team falling apart because they had no supports. If the team getting dived had repeatedly shut down multiple dives, especially from the tank (tanks are usually the de facto “leader” of a team, but that’s a whole other topic) then they would have been much more hesitant to dive because they’d think they would die. However, because Winston and Genji had such free reign they were destroying the backline and no one on the team getting dived shut them down. Hope this helps :)
Suggestion for the card, Dva pact, but not just for Dva. In other words, they find a way to die, when they really should have lived.
This is why low elo is hell to get out of as support 😂 you have to ignore your team most of the time and just dps get picks as support to rank up to at least plat
The kiriko change there was definitely not good, you have to heal much earlier on kiriko because of the travel distance, and this player just isn't reacting fast enough to heal their teammates

The CC'd card is kinda weak, if you want to replace it here's a few suggestions:
Walks off the map more than once
Diva bomb takes more than one elim
Walks by a health pack without picking it up
Support flanks and gets more than one elim
Tank playing mystery heroes
Mercy rez in the middle/right in front of enemy team
Does no one in low elo have the sense to go brig in these situations
If only lower ranked supports knew the power of Brig Ana (if they can execute it of course)
check for voice line spam in spawn before the round starts

@@bigfudge2031 Yup, but at higher lobbies, if they have dive heroes (mainly Genji, Tracer, Winston) in close corners (not open sightlines, that's your advantage) and you flank and stay on that flank, generally it means you have overstayed your welcome and are going to be punished super hard for it.

It's the average rank I don't know why you would expect elite gameplay.
fr man, I'm gold and my lobbies don't look like this. I say that but I guess some games are like this. Gold is such a weird rank sometimes you get games with a bunch of people that want to climb and it feels like a plat lobby and sometimes people are just hard throwing and playing like bronze players, 0 coordination.
@@Th3D4nnyI think Gold is the default rank for placement for your first placement game, so every so often you get players that have literally never played ranked before in your games. Someone who will go on to place Bronze 5 will start in Gold, so it feels like that person is completely clueless and out of their depth

I hate playing into dive meta. You immediately just get singled out as a support and instantly become super dependent on your team for peel. Fighting one flank isn't too bad, but when it's a constant wave of 3 of them you just can't do anything. It's the most toxic comp to deal with imo and it's why CC has to exist.
Not really a good reason for cc to exist there is plenty of ways to deal with dive, however it requires ur team working as a team and depending on rank that’s not the very likely. But CC as a whole will always affect others more than dive characters so not really the smartest or healthiest choice to add.

@@Chr0n0s38 nah that’s just called not adapting. With cc all u get is hard poke metas which also isn’t fun. With dive u have a lot more options then hoping 1 of ur dps can make it all the way to the enemy backline and doesn’t get stunned 3 times before dying or being in a shoot out for 30+ seconds waiting for some1 to fuck up their corner play, that’s boring af. With dive u have at minimum 3 anti dive characters on dps and 3 of the best 1v1 duelist on support. If your really struggling that hard it’s A) ur playing very badly (in the open, 10 miles away from ur team) or B) it’s a full dive team that ur team is trying to play dumb shit into and ignoring the supports in constant 2v2s. Like I said adapt better and Ull have less troubles. Genji flanking? Ask for a sym or swap moira, tracer flanking? Ask for a torb and swap bap. Etc etc

Dive is the least fun meta, it's just a walking simulator for anyone that isn't dive. The reason CC needs to exist to deal with it is you can't always rely on your team to group up properly. Even one idiot is enough to make you suseptible to dive. Besides, deathballing is boring af. There's nothing fun about it. Half the map gets wasted.

When this happens, it's ultimately not your fault as an individual. If you have an idiot tank you just lose because you're essentially in a 4v5.
Counter-meta is stupid too, especially on support where there just aren't enough characters, and when new ones are as worthless as LW. There's no "git gud" against a 3 man dive. You take too much damage to fight back, and even in a group they can still get the pick on you pretty easily. You saw it in this video, minus the tank all 4 would group up, but the 3 person dive would insta-kill someone, then leave and come back. Without the tank they couldn't fight back. It's just not a health meta.
The only problem with CC is Blizzard can't balance it (a recurring problem....). CC characters need to have more distinct weakness. Cree needs to be bad at long range. Mei needs to lose some of the survivability and also be weaker at long range. Then you get the following:
Dive beats Poke beats Brawl (CC) beats Dive
There's a clear cycle. No one playstyle is too strong, so the meta shifts and evolves. Blizzard doesn't do this though, so then CC feels oppressive. The tank passive is bad too, because the characters that need CC to be dealt with the most (dive tanks) wind up partially resisting it. Role passives need to be removed entirely, and passives should be tailored for what the character does. This would essentially result in dive characters getting a passive. brawls characters getting another, and poke characters getting another.
TLDR: CC is fine in games like this, Blizzard just doesn't know how to balance it at all.

If your relying on your tank to peel it says a whole lot about you more than your team or the enemy team. Your tank not only has the least ability to peel they have the least time to do so. They have many more important things than to protect the bap with field the Ana with sleep the moira with fade the brig with 2 boops.
I wouldn’t use any spectating bronze- gold videos as base to say how balanced or healthy a game is. Bronze-gold have 0 idea wat they are doing and have the mindset of “ok I’m shooting the tank and….. OH SHIT DID U SEE THAT MERCY FLY PAST FOR .1 SECONDS???? Imma shoot at the wall and hope she peaks again.” That being said yes when u have 3 dive players on the enemy team and ur whole team is playing like pharah rein and uh…like tracer ig? Sure that’s a loss GG go next. But that can be said for any meta.
Counter picking isn’t going away any time soon and it’s not that bad honestly, if you really don’t wanna learn new characters and counter then this isn’t the game for you.
I won’t argue with blizzard being bad at balancing cause I simply can’t. But no1 and I do mean no1 enjoyed CC in ow1 and now every1 is crying over the 3 CC abilities in ow2, simply cause it’s not fun to sit there and die cause the enemy can chain stun. Also the main target of CC will always be on the tank and now that there’s 1 tank having them getting chain stunned ends in a loss team fight 100% of the time.
Passives? Eh idc about these I’m sure there’s an argument to made somewhere but I’m not bothering to look, I will say I think the support passive is nice cause a support leaving for a health pack is a lot more of an upside for the enemy team than when a dps runs for a health pack.

A good dps will easily kill a low skill mercy who hangs out in the open, stays in the air, and doesn’t know their surroundings. A bad dps will cry about mercy no skill and yet still can’t kill a very low skill hero.
