I would never ever cement wood Poles in the ground it's a no no I put up fences for a living you use rock and dirt rock and dirt that's it no cement When you put up Wooden fence Poles that's what you use it if you put up Wooden fence panels you use galvanize French polls if you are going to Cement the polls and you use galvanize sheet rock screws on the fence panels which straps Wooden Poles and cement don't match I don't care if they are pressure treated
I have to look at history. We have pole barns that have been standing for probably 80-100 years that have poles that were set in concrete and they haven't fell. Even weathered a few hurricanes. So if it only lasts 100 years, I don't mind that. Lol. If it was such a no-no then companies all around the south wouldn't add concrete to their pole barn kits. It very well not mix with the post. However, that process takes a very very long time.
When my sister was fighting cancer her insurance only covered a certain amount the rest was up to her to pay, she went to pick up her medication and found out it was $800 a month we were shocked, she said she couldn’t afford it, Walmart gave it to her at no charge to her. Do I love Walmart? You bet I do.

Gas is 1.75 in Central Mississippi. On a separate note, thank you for sharing the cost of this pole barn on this video. Gives me an idea of what's a fair price to spend for something similar. Always enjoy your videos!

Most pole sheds ( hay barns) in Ireland are completely from steel now... no timber. Steel rsj posts with galvanized steel purlions and steel cladding.

Howdy Hank! I've got 2 more big projects I want to build on the homestead. One is a large, multipurpose polebarn- the footprint y'all got is a good size. The other is a stable barn with apartment overhead. Waiting for building material prices to come back down (which what you paid isn't bad just don't have anywhere here locally in VA like that to buy a kit from), or just get another sawmill for our lumber needs....oh, and I also despise big box stores (that's why we moved to the middle of nowhere where there's not any for over an hours drive lol).

I hate what Florida's DOT did to Vernon when they four-laned the highway. So many great places, historic places.....all gone just to patronize the tourism industry on PC Beach in Bay County! They did the same thing to Cottondale, past home fo Watermelon Alley.

It was in the shop.light aisle at Wal Mart. I don't remember the brand but it was like $40-$45
I use to haul cement powder to batch plants .I carried an average 27-28 tons of powder . Great video Hank enjoy that steak

Gas in South Jersey is around $2.20 right now. I buy my straps at US Cargo. I'm with you on hating to go to Walmart. Only time I go now is at 6am on Tuesdays. They have early hour for Seniors. 😊

Hey Hank, fuel here in Australia is 1.17 a litre. So 4 ltr to the gal is 4.68 a gal Aus. Then add the exchange rate, I think we buy about 70c US atm.

$2.09/gallon here in Pamplin, VA. I have not been in Walmart since February. There are so many mom and pop stores around and the prices are not that much different. Just think that money stays here in this community.

We just got an approval from the village hall to build one. When it’s built, it’s gonna be our garage, repair shop, and many more.
Edit: the bad part is there’s many trees there and with paying the company to build one with garage doors is gonna take a while. I know it will be a good investment, though.

Kind of enjoyed the workout 80# bags of concrete gave me in my teens, twenties & thirties. Discovered 60# at HD in my 40s, in my fifties I’m liking them 40# bags if the price works out the same. Always mixed in a wheelbarrow, until I bought a cheapo Harbor Freight electric mixer a couple years ago. So many of my buddies have borrowed it, I have no idea who is currently in possession of my mixer.

Not really. I only know a few home builders. If you call surplus and salvage in Chipley they probably know the guys that do it.

Here in East North Carolina, you can only get Versa Tube shops for about $15-20k for a 30x40’ without concrete, which to me that shit is so cheaply made. I feel the lumber and trusses for a pole barn is about a fraction for a 30x40’

I bought pallet forks from Titan for my Branson 4815 CH, highly recommend... use it all the time. You will wonder why you didn't get pallet forks sooner!

Stand on the pallet to toss in the perlins then walk the trusses to screw em in clamp to push pull boards etc we can build a barn in a day with 3 people

I'm not sure to be honest. Our barn home was an existing hay barn. The best thing to do would be call them and ask if they have customers who have done it. I've only used them for traditional pole barn applications. Sorry I couldn't give you a better answer

Hey Hank! tell the people if you want to put up a good quality but cheap pole barn really easy buy RV covers and just put them together that is if you don't mind the row of poles in the middle. you can make them as high or low as you want as long or wide as you want.. they install them for FREE. you can't beat THAT. I covered a 40 by 45 foot slab with two of them the crew came in and installed them in less than half a day for FREE. 😎if you're wondering about the Gap in the middle they just used some of the Roof tin and created a valley between the two pieces. perfect👍

Fabric RV covers trap moisture causing mildew and wind moving the the cover will wear the paint.

@@HamiltonvilleFarm a little update since somebody brought me back here as you know my place recently suffered a major hurricane had a lot of damage to trees but my RV structure survived unscathed it was like a miracle I think being bolted to the concrete slab helped a lot because I know of other folks around here that lost their carports and RV covers when they're ground anchors actually pulled out of the ground

Is this a shed? Or a barn? An actual building? On Surplus and Salvage's website I don't see any walls and there is really no mention of what's actually in the 'kit' as far as walls, doors or windows.

I'm a full time RV'r, and totally depend on Walmart for everything but repairs (the garage doors aren't tall enough). I do all my shopping through the pickup service because it's so convenient. Order $35 or more and it's free of charge, otherwise it's about $5 . Get the app and order online "

What was the device that you used to lineup the trailer with the hitch
A piece of PVC pipe. Ita super simple to do. Just cut a notch out of the bottom and fit it over the ball. It works like a champ!
