Sad day in a free country that you need a permit which is short for permission to build a building on your own piece of land, I don’t think our founding fathers would think that was a very free country.
    Love the show though.
    Happy trails

In my county, you cant have a storage building until you build a house ! Thats another reason why I moved to the Carribean. Not the main reason. Here if you don’t build it right. The hurricane will inspect your house for free .

Could you explain how they protect your investment?
I am a state legislator here in North Dakota and I am very curious why you would say something like that. You protect your investment by having an inspection done before you purchase a piece of property. That protects your investment, not government. To marry my daughter or to hunt on my land you need permission, to carry a gun, or build a building on your own private property, you do not need permission, maybe in Russia or China, but not in a free country.

I put one of the older styles up 15 yrs ago up where we get heavy snow fall and non stop freeze and thaw early and late in the winter. They were dirt cheap and as you pointed out a simple quick fix. I can honestly say it has held up well and I see yours has a few upgrades in design that take care of the one slight weakness mine has. After 15 yrs and who know how many times its had 16 inches of heavy wet snow laying on the roof panels they are slightly bowed at the seams , not bad enough to leak but deformed non the less.. I think I spent 2600 for a 18 x 32 that has kept my boat dry and will continue to for a few more yrs. Its called bang for the buck around here.

a little tip for anyone who gets a carport like this one. At the top, the very peak inside. You have a triangle opening. I had to cover mine with some metal tape due to birds nesting in these. The little baby chicks will poop all over anything under these openings if birds are nesting in that area. not all carports or sheds have these braces. this gives the building great strength.

I have a 24 x 21 x 9 - vertical roof, sides, and gables...12 ga certified...theres only about 3 feet between my vertical square tubing... about 4 yrs ago, and they did a great job...I closed the back myself using 5/8 cement form rods in the ground...3/4 EMT conduit on them, and attached the EMT at the top with aluminum brackets...then used Harbor Freight Silver tarps, pulling tight with bungees...keeps out snow and rain...weve had 60 -70 mph winds last winter and I had no problems...snow slides right off the verticle roof...I'd never get the Boxed Eave for this reason...

Brother, we have been watching y'alls channel from the beginning. In fact, this video you created on your steel barn / building was what made me decide to put up a steel building / carport to hold my tractors and mini excavator, as opposed to a wooden one. The wooden one may come later. I shot a video of it going up, and today I actually posted it to our new youtube channel. I threw your name in the title because you actually did inspire me to go this route. I hope that's not creepy, man. Thanks and keep representing NC with the great content.

Ive been looking at these also. I thought about having them erect the plain jane structure with metal roof then laying the block myself (brick mason for 10 years in my earlier life) for the walls. I would have to pour footer and have them build it on that so block would have support but it would be strong as all get out. I like the quickness these go up compared to framing everything out with wood then having to shingle roof, etc....finishes....

Yeah I have heard the mixed reviews about Carolina Carports also. I think part of the problem is they take more orders then they can handle and in turn they cant meet the timelines they tell their customers. I will probably go with General steel just because of the better customer service even though I will end up paying more also.

I'm kinda new to your channel, but could you do a video on how to get started farming? Im a college student trying save every penny I have in hopes that one day I can own about 100 acres to raise cattle and farm. I would love to know what to do to prepare for that kind of venture. Oh yeah, and I will be the 1st generation farmer in my immediate family, so any info would help! Thanks Josh!

Wow that's the same thing i want to do! I'm from mexico, north mexico and i also want to own a ranch and raise cattle and deer im 18... My uncle owns a 9,000 acres ranch and my dream is to own a smaller ranch (i think in mexico the prices for land is cheaper. It depens where and how near from the city it is) but keep it up man one day 😊🤞

The best advice I could give is to not try to 'own' it, at least right away. Move out to the country, buy yourself an acreage with 10-40 acres (something you can make a respectable 'home base' from), and then slowly work up from there. Rent land to raise cattle or crops. Just start off with hay first before you get into grains and plan on having at least another full or part time job while you're getting started.

Exactly how is it fastened to the ground? Would've been nice to see a critical step.

I had those same guys come and put up the same barn in my back yard and it's no where near square to my house and shed! I had red clay put down and measured off the shed so it would be square well they took the stakes down and threw it up how they wanted to all crooked and stuff well we replaced the stakes called them up to come square it up and they came and moved it a little bit and it's still not square and as I was typing this you said they did the same thing how crazy!

yea...I had stakes in the back with a ribbon drawn tight..they were to put the building up against the ribbon...it was on it at one corner and 2 feet off it on the other...they looked disappointed when I told them we had to move it lol....communication is always a good thing, I was irritated for sure but it all worked out

You need to get Ric Flair to close out your vids. " Whoooooooo"

Hey Stoney Ridge, would it not be better to close in the back so you can store equipment either on the ground or on racks and keep the rain from blowing in on them?

air flow is needed...close it up and you create a little swampy spot

Stoney Ridge Farmer , I couldn't find it in the comments, but how do you secure the building to the ground and how much of a snow load can it take? Also did you get a price for the building not installed? Curious the price just for the materials. Thanks for any info you can provide! I need this for my equipment as well!
