Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 141st International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session in Mumbai. The Session provided an opportunity for interaction and knowledge sharing among the various stakeholders related to sports.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister underlined the significance of the session taking place in India after 40 years.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that sports has been a vital part of India’s culture and lifestyle. When you go to the villages of India, the Prime Minister said, one can find that any festival remains incomplete without sports. “Indians are not just sports lovers, but we also live it”, he said. He highlighted that the sporting culture is reflected through the thousands year old history of India

One of the biggest mistakes that the govt is doing is not allotting money to pvt schools for sports infrastructure through it's sports budget.
Pvt schools in major cities can promote sports in a big way if sports budget is diverted to them for hockey fields,gymnastics facilities and diving facility.
The best thing about pvt schools is that if they have these infrastructure built then they can finance the best coaches from around the world to train the students.
The khelo india programme can get a real boost,specially in sports we are not doing well in that is athletics,gymnastics,swimming and diving.
1000 crores of one time investment in all the big schools of major cities can transform the sports scene of the country.
These schools don't have corrupt management and will see to it that once the infrastructure is built then proper training and school teams are built.The parents will be able to pay for the high end coaches which will never happen in govt schools as the govt has to foot the bill at all times.
Big mistake of not building ghe infrastructure in our pvt schools,india can win 20 golds by 2036 if the investment starts happening now.
Involve cadet training for top performing students in all school games and give army their opportunity to groom the talent that these schools recognize,post the infra investment by the govt.
But the initiative has to come feom the sports ministry.
1000 crores that's all that is needed
