Peanut Island - Palm Beach, Florida - Aerial footage

- This is an island located near the Port of Palm Beach, Florida. It is one of the most popular places in South Florida for people to congregate operating watercraft. The video was shot using a Phantom 3 drone. If you like the video give it a "thumbs up".
The video briefly stutters while rounding the south end of the island due to wind gusts. It is also near this area you will see a house. Behind the house is a bunker that J.F. Kennedy had built around the time of the Cuban missile crisis in the early 60's. You can ready more about that here:

About every kind of boat here. Peanut Island packs in the people. Looks like a party side of the island and a nature walk side. Cool video and nice to see your first YT video. Congrats on the # of views.👍
It is packed on Holidays near low tide. They can drink off the boat as long as they don't step on the island. So, everyone stays in the water. Loophole for drinking. 😎👍

@@DavidLorenzoFlorida south beach is the one I miss the most, still have and wear the bathing attire:) quite expensive, I visited most of the beaches, not this particular one ,anyway, I miss it so much !

The drone used was a Phantom 3 Standard. It only had a 2.7k camera and a limited range. I sold it and got the Phantom 3 Pro with the 4k camera. I still have that drone and use for higher altitude footage because it has a great camera but is a very noisy drone. Thanks for watching !

It was a DJI Phantom 3. One battery, 2 miles, and took 7 minutes.

Interesting, but I didn't learn much. There's only so much coastal footage of boats before I want to know more. For instance, the interior of Peanut -- is that actively being dredged or is the dredging long-finished? Are there plans to plant more trees and palms in its interior to prevent the effects of erosion, for instance?
According the Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation web site it indicates that they are dredging on the Southeast portion of the island. They do not indicate why or how long. Sorry, I cannot answer anything more

No worries. Over the years I've watched them remove the interior hill and leave what appears to be a retention pond with no water. I am not sure what the plans are from here. It is still a great place to spend the day. It has been open for the past couple months after closing because of Covid-19. You were not allowed to set foot on the island during that time. Sundays.....or holidays. However, the busiest days I've seen are Labor Day, Memorial Day, and 4th of July

Yes. Finished with enough battery. I remember being so nervous flying around that island. It was a one flight opportunity. Turned out well except the blurry beginning because of CZcams processing.

Not exactly. The island was created in 1918. Its name comes from a peanut oil production plant which its primary function was to serve as a shipping terminal.

That was funny! Loved the video by the way. It certainly shows you have made much progress since the starts but it's still a nice video. And I know from myself that one always has a special place in one's heart for the first videos one produced.
In my early days I liked doing long uninterrupted flights with smooth flying and no glitches. If I couldn't do it the first time I'd fly it again and again until I had a good video. Good thing I got a little smarter and decided to go deeper into editing. Thanks for watching !
