      Bernard, no problem. How are you getting on with you car? Sounds like you are getting to grips with it. Thanks for the comment regards Damian

      @@ODRModurol good thanks Damian, few hiccups along the way with a refitted oil cooler leaking oil and the transmission only having a litre of oil in it. Thankfully lockdown meant very little driving, no damage done. Still haven't had a long drive in her. She's lovely to drive, very smooth. Few cosmetic things to sort.

    Refoaming old speakers is common practice in vintage hi-fi circles.

      Robert, probably the best option for these speakers. Thanks for the comment Damiam

    Old speaker made by my people in Belgium.

      Gary, a very good old speaker from Philips, finding it difficult to replace without having to use an amplifier. Going to try some more expensive (than budget) higher RMS component speakers. Will see if they are any better than the current budget ones as have lost any bass in the music. Will test them out shortly. Thanks for the comment regards Damian

    It might be worth to just replace the speaker cone foam surround rather than using budget speakers? It would cost less than your budget replacements and preserve the better sound quality of the original speakers. Ebay has some universal kits that should work if the cone size matches.

      Multi cyclist, very good point. I realised this later and cover in a follow up video czcams.com/video/qLOFoCUntac/video.html. Thanks for the comment and input. Much appreciated regards Damian.

    Hi.
    Can you tell me the size and wattage of the rear speakers and are they the same in a convertible? Thank you.

    • @ODRModurol
      @ODRModurol  Před 2 lety +1

      Stagnite, the convertible rear speakers have similar size midrange speakers but they are mounted in boxes together with large tweeters. The basic speaker size is OD 6.25" with mounting holes at 5.75" for both front and rear midrange speakers on both coupe and convertible. Although the speaker design does alter if combined with other component speakers. You can see more detail of the rear speakers in this video czcams.com/video/jc1qRUtbgNw/video.html. Hope that helps. Thanks for the comment regards Damian

      @@ODRModurol Bought and fitted some Alpine speakers for £50 on Ebay. Perfect fit, even the screw holes were in the right place. The rubber edge of the cone on the original one had disintegrated.

    How do you remove rear parcel shelf

    • @ODRModurol
      @ODRModurol  Před 2 lety +1

      Graham, there is an official Jaguar method of doing this in there workshop manual (-1999 onward). You can find it on page 2615 of 3265. The workshop manual is available (free) on our website www.modurol.co.uk . Need to remove the rear seat cushions first if I can remember correctly. Hope that helps and thanks for the comment regards Damian

      @@ODRModurol thanks for your help. I'm helping a retired guy recover his parcel shelf. Australian heat does not agree with headliners or parcel shelf

      Graham, no problem the rear parcel shelf material is easily faded and doesn’t fair well even in the UK. Planning on recovering mine too when I do the roof liner. Relatively easy to remove. Good luck with the retrim. Regards Damian
