    The Ford F-Series is a series of light-duty trucks marketed and manufactured by Ford since the 1948 model year. The F-Series is marketed as a range of full-sized pickup trucks positioned above the midsize Ranger but below the larger Super Duty in the Ford truck lineup.[1] Alongside the F-150 (introduced in 1975), the F-Series also includes the Super Duty series (introduced in 1999), which includes the heavier-duty F-250 through F-450 pickups, F-450/F-550 chassis cabs, and F-600/F-650/F-750 Class 6-8 commercial trucks.
    The fourth generation of the Ford F-Series is a line of trucks produced by Ford from the 1961 to 1966 model years. Introducing a lower and wider cab over the previous generation, Ford introduced several design changes to the model line. In line with modern pickup trucks, the bed sides, hood line, and window sill were all the same height. Ford returned the F-Series to two headlights (a design change that remained in place for over 50 years).
    Several design configurations were introduced by this generation. The F-Series panel van was discontinued (replaced by the Ford Econoline) and Ford introduced the "integrated pickup" for 1961.[3] In line with the car-based Ford Ranchero, the Styleside configuration welded the cab and bed body stampings together (removing the gap between the two).[3] After 1963, "integrated pickups" were no more.[3] For 1965, the model line underwent a substantial revision, introducing chassis and cab that would be used by the F-Series through 1979. Alongside the debut of the four-door crew cab configuration, the long-running "Twin I-Beam" independent front suspension and 300 cubic-inch inline-6 were both introduced.[4] Taken from the defunct Edsel brand, the Ford Ranger nameplate made its first appearance.
    The model line was assembled by Ford across multiple facilities across the United States, Canada, and Mexico; the model line was also assembled by Ford Argentina. In Canada, the F-Series was again sold as the Mercury M-Series.
    Due to poor market reception, and rumors that overloading caused the doors to jam shut, the unibody trucks were dropped midway through the 1963 model year. The 1961/64 models have the turn signals in the grill. 1964 models received an all-new Styleside bed with more modern styling as well as a longer wheelbase on two-wheel-drive trucks while short beds and 4x4 retained the earlier wheelbases.

    I’ve been watching people asking stupid prices for the original issue of this kit for as long as I can remember I’m so glad I never once took the bait. I am glad that this kid is issued although I wish they would make the floor pan not all one piece with the suspension and drive train. That said the Mobius F100s have an awesome chassis under them.

    The 63” ford is that of the uni body version notice the lack of bed to cab gap. Ford offered the 63 in both versions standard cab with either the stepside or fleet side bed and the uni body

      Ford never referred to them as unibodies. The original brochures called them integral stylesides.

    I believe this to be a representation of the "uni body" they had! There were issues with it cracking at the cab to bed interface so they stopped making them.

    Isn't it ironic they finally re-release this kit, (something ERTL was never able to do) in a time when this is actually one of the most rare of Ford Pickups with that back window. Ford called it "panoramic view" or something.

  • @rayrussell6258

    Leelanau is on the Lake Michigan side of the State, Chris. It's a peninsula up at the tip of the little finger of your left hand, on the map of Michigan.
    Disappointed that Round2 for whatever reason didn't replicate the regular 292 V8 (or even the I-6). Tri-carbs????? I don't remember that.
    I would have been buying multiple '63 kits, to build them in more colors. But now, I'll just buy one copy. Tri-carbs with no air cleaner looks like a restomod truck, not the stock truck I wanted.

    • @philiplawless81
      @philiplawless81 Před 4 měsíci

      Totally agree! It should have the stock carb and air cleaner set up for both this one and the 60!

    Hey Chris, it's so great to be around here again. I really loved AMT models, and this isn't the exception. What a beautiful truck and camper. As you've said, it's not common to see one like this. In fact, I had never seen one before, neither in America nor Mexico. As usual, AMT manufactured very beautiful and crisp models. You don't know how happy I am knowing that AMT is back again. Right now, I'm on a PT boat in 1/72 from revell. Let me tell you that it's so disappointing and yet frustrating, the very poor quality of revell Germany models. As I see it, if they keep launching garbage like this, they will go into bankruptcy very soon. I'm 63, but when I was very young, maybe tender age 13 or 14, revell's were beautiful models, hard to find with so faulty engineering. 😢😢😢😢😢 so sad to watch an American brand in the hands of people that seem not to care about the brand's future. People, may this 2024 will be full of great things to everyone!!!!! 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊.
