You should react to "Little Black Dress", "Midnight Memories" and "Drag Me Down". Those are my favorites among their rock-ish songs.

The best part of this performance is when Louis (who is standing next to Ronnie) sees how exited Harry is to share a stage with him and switches mic stand.

Greatest part is when Harry realizes Louis was switching with him !!!! He goes so quickly to the mic stand lol

I've seen comments like this a lot about this performance and it kinda cracks me up because it was deffo choreographed that way in rehearsal!
It's true that on their tours the lads were a bit loosey goosey with moving around the stage and doing whatever they wanted, but even then they had specific movements for each song that they rehearsed (i.e. this song we do on this side of A stage, on this part of the song we move to B Stage, on this song we do a lot of fan-interaction stuff, etc). And for a TV performance like this, what with all the cameras and the smaller stage, they had to learn specific movements planned out ahead of time, so no way IMO that was an on-the-spot decision by Tommo. It was planned, for H's benefit yes, absolutely, he's the song-writer, of course they all wanted him to get his moment to rock out with a legend playing _his_ song! But it didn't just happen in the moment. Plus I'm sure they had to hash it out with the whole group and their choreographer, make sure everyone is on the same page. PrimeTime TV is so complicated and there's a million things happening at once; even the simplest-looking setup requires expert timing, and professionals working at their peek.
What's so cool about the lads, is that they could _make_ _it_ _look_ _casual_ _and_ _unplanned_ because they were so comfortable in front of cameras and under pressure.
Having said all of that, there's a sliiiiight chance Lou did it in the moment because he's a rebel and he knows H well enough that he knew it was a good gamble and Haz would catch on and fill the gap. It's unlikely, but to cover my bases, I'll allow that there's a slight possibility.
The funny thing is he probably wouldn't remember the truth now if someone asked him. It was just another cool performance, another checkmark in the very crowded ledger of One Direction: it happened so long ago now that it's most likely ancient history in his mind, even though it feels fresh to us.

Niall is on the guitar. You might like Nice To Meet Ya from him. He did loads of live performances of it. Graham Norton, James Corden, SNL, MTV EMA's. He's quite good live.

Yes, this is one of their rock songs for sure. Niall Horan is the one with the guitar. He is amazing solo as well. They all are! This is the best live performance of this song so I'm glad you watched this one. Thank you so much for this reaction.

So glad you reacted to this song, it's one of my favourite of them! And the one with the guitar is Niall Horan to answer your question :)

Glad you finally watched this! You are definitely not alone in dismissing this band as a cheesy pop boyband. Even when they started out, while very young and marketed to teenage girls, even those earlier albums had a bit of a rock edge. As they matured, they came into their own and took more creative control, doing most of the writing, their sound changed significantly to be more pop rock. And as you saw with Clouds and now this performance, they are rockstars on stage! Harry, Niall (with the guitar) and Louis have all gone in that direction as soloists. Niall is a mix of rock, poprock and singer/songwriter with a bit of Irish folk. Harry and Niall are also heavily influenced by 70s classic rock, which you can definitely hear in their music. I see that you listen to a lot of Liam and Noel Gallagher...Louis' music has a very similar sound to Oasis and they are one of his influences. I think they may even have writing and/or production credits on one or two of Louis' songs (though I could be wrong about that, but thought I read that somewhere). Great reaction to a great performance!

please do more of one direction. their last three albums (midnight memories, four and made in the am) are often getting people by surprise
because of how good they are. there's a big difference between the first two and the last three because they had more influence on the sound and writing (especially Louis and Liam, they wrote like 30+ songs together) so they moved on from sweet pop-what makes you beautiful kind of music to more of pop-rock and even pop-punk occasionally.
    My recommendations are:
choose live versions if possible and look up the lyrics and credits on the side so you can see who sings which part
    From Midnight memories album:
    Midnight Memories (title track)
    Little black dress
    Alive
    Something Great
    from FOUR:
    Ready to run
Where do broken hearts go(you've just checked it out)
No control (essential to choose live performance not on GMA they censored fcking "loaded gun" lol)
    Spaces
"Act my age" if you want to have fun
from mitam (hard to choose it's the best album imo even tho it lacks zayn's presence):
drag me down( I like live version more but mv is good as well)
    End of the day
    History
    Love you goodbye
"Olivia", "A.M." and "What a feeling"(sadly no live performances)
p.s. Harry is a huge fan of RS so you can see him just loosing it lol. Him and Louis even switched during performance so he could stand next to Ronnie
