I actually had a huge argument about this with a more conservative member of my church back in the day, not because of the pastor thing, but because he tried to argue against women having any authority in church which *is* contradictory to the Bible as women did serve as preachers and even prophets, just not the head of the church, which is supposed to be a man.
I don't like how we give a whole month to pride, but no months for the six other deadly sins, seems unfair.

To be fair, only one or two of the bibles I have owned were Red Letter style. I tend to either have the travel style one or the "I have 30 possible translations for this text and street and topographical maps of the area in question" style. To put it in the second type is either leather bound or hardback because the thing is so huge it can't be otherwise. I do not know much about the origins of Black Friday but I know that Pride events were largely started after the Stonewall Massacre with police brutality involved and many protests after.
The brutality of it allowed for groups to push for more rights and protests and many more came in support than otherwise would have.
The event happened in 1969. Definitely not something that people were not around to see or remember as it is a widely documented case. And there were many more like it in the 60s. There are many alive today that were involved in it. And many others that remembered seeing it happening on TV/in the news.
A lot of stuff that had inspired Pride earlier than Stonewall and even up to today persists. Like gay bar shootings or anti-LGBT bills. Anything that inspires people to celebrate harder and protests for the rights of all people.
Stonewall is not the only event that happened for sure. There are countless events and stories and people that have influenced Pride greatly, but Stonewall is one of the most influential and remembered events. It also is presumably the event that kicked off the first Pride parades/events/marches. On its one year anniversary.

I loved the opening! This is probably your best meme fix video yet. I particularly loved the comment about the red text.
I found that particular meme fix intriguing, because rebuking your brother for his sin is an act of love. Yet so many people (on both right and left, Christian and non-Christian alike) don't understand that. The whole culture shift on discipline, punishment, shame, and rebuke and how those things are related to love is interesting. I kind of want to read a semi-scholarly look at the history of Western culture that explores the possible causes of the shift.

As a fan, there are Freedom Toons episodes Iâve turned off because I didnât like them. I think itâs an accurate statement, but I also think something is lost in the delivery without the tone of my voice to add context. The fact Seamus is still running Windows XP is so based.
I think he's probably using it to sketch. Modern Windows OS are not very compatible with the most common pads. Lots of firmware conflicts, constant updates interfering with them and whatnot, etc.
Itâs a theme set made for Win 11 and 10. It would be cool to be able to have a simple OS again tho lol.
I'd settle for Windows 7 still getting security updates though.
