Inspired by the television series and the feature film, S.W.A.T. stars Shemar Moore as a locally born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant newly tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Torn between loyalty to where he was raised and allegiance to his brothers in blue, former Marine Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson has everything it takes to be an excellent leader and bridge the divide between his two worlds. Hondo's elite unit includes David "Deacon" Kay, an experienced S.W.A.T. officer who always puts the team first, despite feeling overlooked for the lead job; Jim Street, a cocky but promising new member of the group; Christina "Chris" Alonso, a skilled officer and the team's canine trainer; and Dominique Luca, an expert driver who gets them in and out of high risk situations. Overseeing the unit is Jessica Cortez, the captain of L.A. Metro who values her job above all else, including her off-the-books relations with Hondo. Hondo's team enjoys an intense rivalry with another L.A.-based unit led by Mumford, an aggressive leader who likes to do things his way. With Hondo leading the charge, these dedicated men and women bravely put themselves at risk to protect their community and save lives. True but you can't just shoot blindly into a vehicle, you have no way of knowing if your rounds are going to hit the actual person. Remember, there were officers *behind* that vehicle which created a dangerous cross fire. It's most likely why they didn't shot, can't take the risk.

It was actually MORE dangerous for them to shoot so high at the chest when he stepped out of the car as if they missed it was even more likely a round would've gone off course or missed and might've hit one of the cops behind the perp's car. Moment he killed the dude in yellow they should've put a round clean through him.
In real life the cops behind would’ve had to take cover, or rotate around to the front so the crossfire was only in one direction, anyone who stands in the crossfire of a gun willingly is a moron.

always wondered about this,even if he did somehow get a shot off on the SWAT officer,how does he plan on taking out the other dozens of SWAT squads surrounding him without getting turned into minced meat?Along with the fact that he'd either miss or hit a piece of armor regardless.

If you're actually asking, it tends to be what's known as "suicide by cop". Instead of going to prison for the rest of their life, and never seeing anyone they know ever again, they basically go out guns blazing because they know they'll either be shot to hell instantly and die right there, never facing actual repercussions for the harm/damage they've caused, or if they get the 1 in a million win, they somehow get away without dying, escape, and then go from there. Generally, their line of thought is something like "well, better to die trying than to give up".
Criminals that are as high up as he is specifically assassins always will either die or escape before getting captured no use in talking ever

One thing that pisses me off about this scene is they shoulda dropped the main dude the second he shot the other passenger. And then they let him just kill another dude. Yeah they are crimnals but he still killing them they just let him murder 2 people. (Yes its a tv show but this is why i cant watch them b/c stupid shit like this)

Is it me or was it the most stupidest idea to try and shoot the swat team when they had an entire like so many rifles and an air unit while the dude had only a pistol

Shemar Franklin Moore is the tail, not the head. He is such a cruel being. I tuned him out now. I never followed him to begin with. He followed me for awhile. The reason to NEVER trust the cops... At the 3:30 mark of this video the cop requests to see the gun, step away from the car. When doing as commanded. And shows the gun. The cops shoot him.
