  • Dispersed Camping is THE way to avoid holiday crowds. But knowing HOW to do it and find secluded camp spots is intimidating for most. In this video, finding a secluded spot is exactly the process we go thru. And amazing spot we find!!
This was our 4th of July, 2022, weekend trip to Sawmill Lake, in the Bowman Lake Recreation Area of the Tahoe National Forest.
We were told it will be way to busy, but despite the elevated crowds, we found many amazing campsites and lots of places without crowds. Watch how we did it in video. These concepts can be applied to any area where dispersed camping is allowed.
There are rules to dispersed camping so please know the rules before you go.
LEAVE NO TRACE. LEAVE IT BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT. THANK YOU!

NVM. I just heard you say Gaia.

Hi there. Yeah. Its Gaia. I really love it and now I find I cant overland without it! Im not much if a planner. Just kinda have an idea if where and what we want then use gaia extensively to exolore. iOverlander is good to find campspots but more of a supplement ti gaia vs replacement of it. Thx for watching. Let me know if you have other questions!
