Flightline is a straight up Beast. The minute the race started and Life is Good set the fractions that he did, I knew this was a wrap. Great horse and it was a pleasure to watch him work.
Horses don’t know what weight they’re carrying or how long the journey is, but with Secretariat you felt like he knew all of that information, one of a kind.
What a beautiful horse. I can almost feel how much he loves to runs. I have seen a few great horses and seen some great races. Been to the Kentucky Derby twice in my lifetime and do have a few favorites Secretariat is one and AP Indy another and now Flightline. There is something special about these horses and how much they loved to run. Now Lifeline will be kicking it and making babies and living the life of a champion. And I'm will tell the future horseman the stories about how they ran.
Considering the accident he went through where his hind quarter was cut real bad; And the fact that through his careful handling by the trainer/owners as a result of minor injuries. . . he hasn't run many races and is a 4 yr old. . . It's an amazing story. The horse is special and has a fine personality. The owners group collective decision making shows they've exemplified proper responsibility as to the handling of this horse. If he is retired it's a decision that can't be criticized. If they continue to run him then it's always a risk. He's nothing left to prove after this, another decisive win against one helluva field.
@@burningsagemanmusic7491 He cut himself in the hind leg 6 inches deep that is why he didn't make it to Kentucky derby. Had he run in last year's derby he would have won it and save Bob Baffert lots of aggravation and disqualification of his derby winner
I believe he was only year old when he got spooked and backed into a gate and suffered a severe laceration that sidelined him completely for over 3 months. I believe he was also plagued with a foot injury that forced him to miss some races. I just know they've been super careful with him and should be. Yeah sure they are born to run but not to the point they should suffer sever lacerations or any injury for the sake of someone pocketing a bunch more money, and at the expense of the horses health. And the fact that Baffert was in violation may have very well cleaned up the sport and made way for both Rich Strike and Flightline. All good for horseracing.
I don't know the horse, Flightline, or the field he was competing but I've watched several thousands of races and watched all great horses via CZcams videos. I can say that the ease he passed a well detached leader obviously outclassing the rest of the field and the pace he kept till the end brought recollections of Realy great horse. And as I read in comments he had serious accident and a big setback. He's a crack - no doubt to me.
I’m not a fan of Larry Collmus either . He blew the call on Rich Strike in the Kentucky Derby, worrying about Epicenter and Zandon when Rich Strike was coming on the inside in the stretch like it was a turnpike. Rich Strike did make the board in the BC Classic and he still never got mentioned. He couldn’t carry Fred Capossela or Tommy Roberts microphone.
I love watching these videos of Flightline coming into the stretch. Flavian never has to use his whip. He just raises up a little in the saddle and changes the way he’s using the reins. Thats the cue for Flightline to take off. Does it every time. I love watching Flavian. Flightline’s strides are longer and more effortless. He just cruises in 8, 10, 15 lengths ahead of the field. Its so exciting to watch him. Never seen a horse like him. One of the owners and his family are yelling waving him on but as soon as he takes off he just relaxes all the tension goes out of his body you can see he is in awe of this horse he gives a little wry smile as if he’s thinking I should never have doubted him . Of course he’s going to win. Ive heard John Sadler talk about his training its very interesting.
I think it’s a good place to remind everyone to watch „Seabiscuit”, an Oscar-nominated movie starring eg Tobey Maguire, Jeff Bridges, Elizabeth Banks and Chris Cooper. Simply amazing, telling the story of one of the best racing horses ever.❤
Horse was retired to stud over a month ago. Racing career consisted of a grand total of 6 races, not one being a triple crown race. Owners robbed the public of two more years of greatness from the horse.
The owner waited the horse to cross the post to then kiss and celebrate even tho the horse had many advance on the others ! This shows us that anything can happen in a race even tho the horse has many advance. You cant celebrate too early in horse racing, anything can happen.

Not true at all. Triple Crown winner Secretariat,Affirmed and Seattle Slew were all won the TC within 5 years. Slew would have beat Flightline. He had world class sprinter speed. Go 1:09 and still win going 1 and 1/4 races.
