The Chinese coaches are creating beam routines which not only use point skills and connection values to advantage, but also have an elegance, power, and flow that gets the audience *and* judges up and shouting. Stunning routines!

@N L I noticed that. No disrespect to them, but I felt like some of the Russian were overscored on events they had clear errors on. This beam routine definitely should have been higher, especially since she had no bobbles really
@N L that's sad honestly. When Americans are overscored, it's talked about but no one says anything when it's Russian gymnasts. It doesn't matter what country they're from, the scoring needs to be fair and I wouldn't be surprised if some of the judges are biased. Also, I'm glad the Chinese gymnasts won beam during Tokyo at least. They've been really consistent and their beam work is always amazing to watch!
@@elvisesteban4651 I totally understand but it's still a pity because she had the wobbliest Olympic gold winning balance beam performance probably of all time lol. Qualification: Hit all the connections. No wobble, and she got 8.033 for Execution Final: she lost some connections and so many wobbles, still got 8.033. WTH with that Logic
Nah, that accolade goes to Fan Ye 2003 Worlds EF. Check it out. This routine was amazing though. Shame the judges still managed to somehow find almost two points of deductions though.
@@TaTa-wv2qz i think she commentates figure skating as well. she’s knowledgeable about both MAG and WAG, and all the disciplines across FS. she’s amazing
Simone biles could have done something innovative within the beam like guan instead of going for Double double dismount and stuff! Though it's difficult what's the use of it? She s a bronze medalist after all! Smart work wins always! She must learn to cope up with the Current COP
I totally agree but I believe the construction of Simone's body doesn't allow her much flexibility and artistry on the apparatus itself. The same goes for her uneven bars routine. That is way she opts for difficult, powerful dismounts and skills cause she has the strength to carry them out and increase her difficulty value.
I actually loves Simone's beam style, very unique and exciting. But I sort of agree Simone's coach should focus on her beam and bar, her rio floor and vault routine are enough to get the gold
This routine isn’t that innovative. Lol It’s code-whoring at its finest. Also, some of those connections were too slow and should not have been counted, yet for some inexplicable reason they were.
@@DeepSeas.. Hey Daniel, they do get deduction from slow connection and that's why the execution score is low. Depending on how slow they are, they can also discount the connection. Take a look at Jordan wieber's balance beam routine from 2011 world beam ef and 2012 olympic qualification, it might be helpful
This is how Chinese girls look. Lots of my classmates in high school in Shanghai look like this. Be careful when you make judgments if you don't know well enough about the culture. I was a bad example, too: I really don't want to be mean, but when I first came to the states, some 16-year-old white girls looked 26 to me.... So after that, I learned to not guess other's age based on their appearance, especially when I am not very familiar with the culture.
@@ZZ-lk8gn Her face and facial expression and behavior makes her appear like a child. I am very suspicious about this. She looks much younger than the other Chinese gymnasts. It won't be the first time a country lied about acompetitor's age.
@@TheEntilza not uncommon that female gymnasts’ extreme training delay their puberty. I think Shawn Johnson said that during her win in 2007 and 2008 that she didn’t have periods yet, at the age of 16. She also looked like a child. So no need to make assumptions until proof is provided
