  • I purchased this Lancol Micro 200 Pro battery tester so I can keep an eye on the health of my car and motorcycle batteries. It is also sold under the Enusic name. This tester seems to give consistent results when doing test back to back. I took one of my cars to Walmart to have them test the battery, then I tested using the Lancol and we got pretty close to the same readings.
    Towards the end of the video, during the charging test, I said that the "Loaded Test" was at idle and the "Unloaded Test" was when the car was revving. I think I got that backwards because I see 14.73v at other times during the test when the engine is just idling.
    There is an option in the menu called GB. This option allows you to enter the amp hours (Ah) of your battery. I made a video that shows that option here...

    This may not be as high of quality as a professional battery tester, but for the weekend mechanic who wants an affordable and accurate tester, this works good enough. I think I paid around $25 for it and that included shipping.

      I still use the battery tester a few times a month on my batteries. If a neighbor is having an issue with their car battery, it's a handy tool to have to help them out. Good luck.

    There are so many brands to choose.
    Would be cool to have one. Not that there are any needs to use it maybe once or twice. Or/and for friends.
    A friend of mine have another brand and tested my battery. It said replace. I think the EN-rating was like half of what I put in. Health was 63% or something. Dont remember. But my battery works fine. Car starts always good.
    Someone also told me that the battery needs to be fully charged before test. My wasn't.
    I think I need to replace the battery soon anyway. Had it since 2014.

    Awesome review. Do you think this meter may work to check the status ( healthy or dead) the batteries are in a UPS or inverter batteries?

      Sorry, I can not say for sure. If they are lead acid type batteries, I would think it would work. I have only used it on car and motorcycle batteries. Hopefully someone else will try it on a small UPS lead acid battery and leave a comment here.

      I have tried it on a VRLA (AGM) 12V 7Ah UPS battery, I used the "GB" test profile and keyed in the Ah number.

    • @georgeterbush2976
      @georgeterbush2976  Před 2 lety +1

      I really don't know what amp hour your batteries are. There is a GB option in the menu that allows you to enter the Ah value. I made a video of it here...

      Might also be an idea to call the shop where you bought the eBike from. It won't have CCA as it's a different type of battery and doesn't have to crank or start a motor and would be an amp hour(Ah) rating as George mentioned therefore you wouldn't even need to do a cranking test.

    In the charging test, do you first need to press ok and then increase RPM or do you first need to increase RPM and then press ok?

    • @georgeterbush2976
      @georgeterbush2976  Před 2 lety +1

      I believe you have to increase the RPM to 2500 first, then while it is revving at 2500 you press OK to start the test. In the video, my brother was revving the engine. The car does not have a tack but I think it was revving too high for the test.
      I'm curious now to see if the tester will detect 2500 rpm all by itself.

    • @carlosw1687
      @carlosw1687 Před 2 lety

      @@georgeterbush2976 thanks very much. I think the tester should automatically detect a rev increase. It makes no sense a tester that requires two people.
      I'm very confused about this point.

    Hi, appreciate this review, cool.
    Can you confirm it's allright for battery under 30Ah? i need one that can check battery from 7 to 20Ah, given specs seems suspect.

    • @georgeterbush2976
      @georgeterbush2976  Před 4 lety +1

      According to Lancol's website, the PRO version has a range of 3 - 220AH. The non pro version can only do 30 - 200AH. I know what you mean. Specs are always suspect with this kind of stuff.
      global.lancol.com/products/detail/micro-200pro-battery-tester-for-car-motorcycle.html
      One of my batteries is a EverStart ES14BS Motorcycle Battery - 12V 12AH (200 cca). The tester is able to measure the internal resistance and cold cranking amps.
      Good luck.

      @@georgeterbush2976 Yep, i saw a guy testing an ancel one on a motorcycle bat, probably a 16Ah one, the unit gave resutlts even it's normaly rated for 30 to 200 Ah, the results were weird enought to understand that they were wrong, but it can be confusing if you don't realise that.
      i asked him if he had compared with a dedicated low Ah device, seems he has not. Many devices offer similare range, starting from 30Ah, like it's just copy past specs from retaillers that most of the time don't care much.
      I saw this Lancol device said to be a 3 to 220Ah, with also top specs, unusual and cheap, suspect, i can't find the true about that device, maybe just a 0 forgetted (voluntary?) and all retaillers just copy past manufacturer specs, this Micro 200 Pro is sold under different brands but same case.
      i won't lose much to test it, you gave me some confidence to go for it.
      Thank you!

    • @kashubelua
      @kashubelua Před 4 lety

      @@georgeterbush2976 I forgetted, do the lancol request to manualy enter the Ah of the battery before test? this is also a thing that confuse me, as many don't ask for that, only CCA battery specs, some do ask for Ah, wich i find more trustable.

    • @georgeterbush2976
      @georgeterbush2976  Před 4 lety +2

      @@kashubelua I went through all of the testing standards in the menu and the only one that allows you to enter a Ah value was the GB option. I never knew much about it so I played around a little and believe it or not, the range is from 3 to 220Ah. I made a new video showing the GB mode. I really wish the tester was like those lithium battery testers that show the measured amp hours. From what I can see, it takes your Ah that you input and displays how many amps your battery should have. It then compares that value to a percentage of the measured CCA and tells you if the battery is good or bad. I could be wrong, but that is how I am interpreting it.
