I have the mk1 kit and use a .177 pellet tin with carbon felt for the burner. The lid has a 25mm hole for simmering or use without the lid for full heat. Probably my favorite cook kit and bomb-proof!

Mk1 cup with the mk2 stove is the way to go

Agree'd , thats what i have done , the whole Mk1 cook set with the Mk2 cook base and a Trangia inside the cook base fits nice in the Mk2 crusader bag , good combo

The Mk2 comes into it's own if you're working in pairs (close ops, sniper team etc.) because it will take two pouch main meals at once, top up afterwards for two brews.

Best BCB cookset comparison I have seen. Being from the U.S. I found it very useful. Well done.

I love the way you are not perfect, like me, and have the occasional hiccup. Keep up the good work

You didn’t use the gen 2 cooker correctly

Love my MK1 cup but I use it with an MSR pocket rocket stove. The MSR is still super small and super light but it cooks super super fast. Only down side is the gas cartridges are bulkier and more expensive.

Mountain Bear outdoors But you could wax poetic on 'edge retention', 'steel toughness & composition' and then, after demonstrating god-mode knife sharpening skills, you could shave some hair from an arm, or leg or ..
I mean, isn't that what bushcrafting is all about?
Who has time to get hungry out there and cook a humble meal?
All jesting aside, thanks for that intro, I loved it!

Thanks for visiting, yeah I think not having the handle down may have reduced the efficiency of the stove a little bit I only really use dragonfire in an emergency as it's quite expensive unless you can get some army surplus from eBay. The squeezy gel is good but I think it goes under a different name like vango these days

2 tent pegs and you can use a trangia on the mk. 1 or even better make a 1 inch can stove it fits perfectly, my gen 2 doesn't boil water on 1 firedragon tablet but my mk.1 will bring to a rolling boil from 1 tablet

boredom is a terrible thing, thankfully the beans tasted just fine after being shot, i was a bit surprised the pellet went through both sides of the tin and bounced off the fence, oops!

@@PreparedCamping yeah ive melted that bag more than a few times, i think the worst time was using the tiny BCB rectangle stove up on Beacon Batch in the mendips, the wind was so high my bag got nicely toasted but my brew was pretty luke warm.

Had my mk2 cup 2 years now and it's tough but not anywhere near as tough as the mk1 cup , mk2 cup has started to chip around rim of cup and inside ,
