NEW YORK, April 20, 2013 - Cambodian chapei dong vong (long-neck guitar) player Kong Nay performs at Asia Society, both solo and with Ben Allison on bass, Marc Ribot on guitar, and Rudy Royston on drums.

I hear shade of Gabor Zabo in Ribot's playing, but much much more self-indulgent. I noticed he shoved the mike away from his guitar when playing with Kong Nay. I couldn't hear what he was doing. I get the impression he's used to playing with himself, and that also fits my impression of him as a self-indulgent player. Anyone else out there that thinks the lyrics sound like they are about sex? That's a common blues theme right?
