One thing I really like about this series is the quality of the voice actors Vivzie and her team have managed to get a hold of.
I'll admit. Stolas was one I couldn't really get behind at first.
I'm usually down for some gay rep in a show, but he did cheat, so it felt pretty shady.
now, knowing the reasons why he cheated, I'm all in on the Stolas train.
I just want to cuddle him and give him tge love he deserves that he seemingly never had his whole life!
I figured the cause of the cheating when Stella was less upset in ep. 2 with the cheating than the fact that he "embarassed" her with an IMP of all things.

Yeah, but that just seemed like typical snobbery of the upper class to me. I Didn't expect her to be that forthright with her contempt for stolas. Most people like that are usually vaguely passive aggressive about it, not that open and direct with it, which just makes her openly ordering a hot on Stolas right in front of him somewhat understandandable from an outside perspective.
Saw that on Twitter, but Stolas had to deal with "compulsory heterosexuality", y'know being forced into heterosexuality by society.

And that's exactly why we get stories on reddit with people who cheat on or divorce their spouses with someone of the same gender, because no matter how much they tried to make it work, they never felt fully satisfied because they were forced to settle, because not doing so means a number of potential consequences.
Not to mention the psychological and emotional damage bottling all that up does to people who are forced, or feel forced to hide that part of themselves.
It really is the tragic reality for many, no matter how 'enlightened' we claim to be. Which, given recent Supreme Court rulings, foesn't seem to be very enlightened at all...

Also it's Hell, so I don't really hold any of its denizens to the same standard I hold most characters XD Stolas being as decent as he is while being born into a society that's completely deranged is nothing short of a miracle.
Stolas' voice (broadway)actor was actually crying as he sung this last ballad.
And he did it in one take.
I believe it. He's a great singer, and some of the notes were a little wonky, so I had assumed he was either convincingly pretending to cry or actually crying while singing it. Has he ever commented on why? Did he work himself up for the sake of the scene, or did song hit close to home?

As revealed in the end credits, Stolas' father is Paimon.
Unlike in the show, he is usually depicted as a man riding a camel.
While different works credit him with different titles, in the Ars Goetia, he is one of the nine kings of hell, the same rank Asmodeus holds, too. Though since he does not represent any of the 7 Deadly Sins, I think it's likely that, while being a high ranking demon, he is not on the same level as Asmodeus in this show, as well (though that's just a theory for now).
He is usually portrayed as being highly knowledgeable about the world. In some versions, he can even see the past and the future.
Lastly, he is said to be quite loyal towards Lucifer.

21:23 Someone translated the ACTUAL Runinc symbols of the book, and Asmodean Crystals are given to Succubi/Incubi by the Lord of Lust as a means to access the mortal world. The way Stolas looks at it, it seems he was going to "propose" to Blitz with one, so he (Blitz) would no longer need the Grimoire, and maybe he and Blitz could just leave and never look back. Or, Stolas could just run away by himself, which would prompt Octavia to go searching for him in the human realm (Hence the trailer shots)
My thoughts are that Stolas will test Blitz with the Asmodean Crystal. If Blitz takes it, then it proves that he never cared for Stolas and only wanted his Grimoire, but if Blitz keeps the book then that means he still wants to be with Stolas in some capacity.
What i got from that was, Stolas checking the book just to confirm what he knew. Succubi have means to access the human world. Stolas has means to access the human world. Blitzo used to be with Verosikia, a Succubi who had access to the living world. Access Blitzo needed in order to kill people. But that relationship ended so Blitzo came to Stolas to steal his book. He knew Blitzo was using him for the book but Stolas was okay with it because he was fucking his first real friend who he obviously had a crush on since childhood. It was a comfortable lie.
@@mattstorm360 I could very well see that being the case. The only hang up about it is the rest of the IMP crew being surprised that Blitz ever dated Verosika. If the break up was immediately before Blitz went after the book, they wouldn't be surprised.
@@ThePSWarrior True, but Stolas doesn't know that. When they meet again after two decades Blitzo said he kills people now. Blitzo's business involves going into the human realm to kill people. So if Blitzo kills people 'now' it means he had a way to get to and from before Stola's book. He dated Verosika so one would assume he used her to get to and from the human realm. It makes sense, even if it's not what happened.
I thought stolas might just give it to blitzo to do his job and cutting him free, and keeping his book. Cause he doesn't want to use blitzo he wants to be loved

I don't believe she hired striker because she wanted him dead. If she wanted him dead, I think she could hire somebody she believes could actually do the job- despite how she feels about stolas, she definitely doesnt have any faith that an imp would actually kill him. I always viewed that as her making a statement, which is why she was on the phone around stolas.

Which is a theory I have where Blitz will finally admit how he feels. It seems everyone thinks Blitz doesn't actually care, when that couldn't be more wrong. Blitz, through some kind of trauma in his life is just scared of being attached to people. I mean, I have a very detailed theory (That so far hasn't been far off yet) about what happened to Blitz for him to be so afraid of having real relationships with others, but most people don't want to see a giant wall of text on CZcams so if you wanna know I'm more than happy to share.

This is misguided.
The Goetia in the series are not all directly related. For instance Stolas and Asmodeus are not related. Stolas and Andrealphus (mentioned at the end, Stella's brother) are not related.
Stella and Octavia are Goetia royalty but have no rank in the hierarchy. Octavia is likely a precaution in case a ranking Goetia is killed so she can take their place. It is likely that all other avian demons attending Stella's party are other Goetia royals, whether or not they have rank in the 72 listed in the Ars Goetia. So theoretically Stolas could have any number of siblings, some baring rank, while others don't.

My dad took me to see the first Power Rangers movie in theaters when I was a wee lad and he pretended he thought it was cool as it gets. Found out years later as an adult (from my mom) he was pretending for my sake, and had thought it was the dumbest shit he'd ever watched, and that every minute of the film was agony lol. And I very much appreciate he faked enjoyment so as to not ruin what was a huge deal for me (huge Power Rangers fanboy growing up).
Not saying Paimon is a good dad, just that there's nothing wrong with faking enjoyment for your kid's sake.

@@samwortham2385 Thank you! there are a lot of videos on how to do leather carvings, but the easiest way is to trace a picture or drawing onto tracing paper, wet the leather and let it mostly dry, then trace the image with a stencil tool, ball point pen, or anything similar. and depending on the size of the image you may have to keep wetting the leather to get consistency. After tracing the image you need to carve each line with a swivel knife, then comes the line stamping, shading, and backgrounding with stamping tools. it sounds like a lot but its not too bad so long as your careful and practice
16:18 I like how the pictures with Stolas alone or Stolas and his wife are in muted colors in contrast to the picture with Stolas and Octavia, so shiny, vibrant and colorful.
Laminitis is a real thing for sure. When horses eat too much(not just sugar) they get issues with their intestines which eventually causes inflammation in their hooves leading to that their ¨legs stops working¨ . It's very painful for the horse and many cases they're put out of their misery because of it.
I grew up with horses and experienced it a couple of times, its quite unpleasant
After this episode, I will forever consider Stolas to be a Disney Princess. He passes the Disney Princess test so it cannot be denied at this point. Also, I had the same reaction as Kirby did with Blitz and Stolas. It was definitely getting hot when this episode was made and watched. I was cheering for Stolas at the end of this episode as well.
Has he made friends with wildlife yet? And is one of his parents dead? Because while those are no longer essential elements to being a Disney Princess, they're definitely required to enter the upper echelons of their ranks.

@@nineparr3110 Depends on whether having committed many murders disqualifies you. A body count doesn't seem to be an issue, since Mulan is considered a Disney princess now and she smoked 99.9% of the hun army, but she did it to protect her family and country as opposed to doing it for money.
If that *doesn't* count against him, then I think he just might qualify. He even sang once, albeit poorly :-p Also, his love-interest is a prince, so I'm pretty sure that's another point towards Disney princess status. You know, I realized something watch your reaction that I missed in the original video...
When Blitzø tells people he changed his name, people normally ask him 1000 and 1 questions or straight up just don't refer to him how he wants to.
Stolas immediately uses the name Blitzø preferred, without questioning it, even while preoccupied with thinking about sex. Despite outranking him and not hearing from him in 20 years, Stolas still showed Blitzø respect.
Whoever they cast to play the kid versions did very good jobs at capturing the mannerisms of the characters.

So, Stolas' sexual awakening occurred when Blitzo was nearly trying to steal his book. I should be surprised but I'm not.
The guy was so sexually frustrated he was hit with one bit of "passion" [as he called it] and he let all his desires out in the open, it's really sad actually.
But I know there's gonna be tons of fics with Blitz being way nicer about it to heal my wounded heart so it's no biggie, fingers crossed the fic authors pull through.

So either the Theory is wrong, the last one grew out of spite, or it was a masochist plant.
I think Mythbusters tested this. The amount/amplitude of vibrations is what matters, more/harder = better growth. (In their tests, metal music resulted in the most growth.) So it's not about emotion, it's just that verbal abuse tends to be louder, which helps the growth :)

7:06 I have thoughts on this one, for me at least, this scene might be a really big RED FLAG. Why? This might be a hint, as well as foreshadowing on how Fizzarolli may have lost his limbs. Let's break down the interactions between the two balloon horses. The worm horse lost its legs in the "great pirate war", worm horse fought back against its assailants, the worm horse tried to run away, only to be caught up by said assailants, leading to them taking worm horse's limbs. Next banana pudding helps worm horse feel better, then apparently more blood. Now why do I think this might be a RED FLAG? Let's think for a bit, the story might be over dramatisized, but here are my thoughts, Blitzo and Fizzarolli in someway got into a fight, not with each other but with other people. My speculation is that the "great pirate war" might have been a rival circus. Maybe jealous of Fizzarolli's rising fame. Getting pushed back, Blitzo and Fizzarolli runs away, fleeing the fight. The assailants somehow caught up to them or just Fizz and proceeded to chop him up and take his limbs. That or maybe a burning tent of some sort, falling debris leading to pinned and broken limbs or lost limbs. After everything, Blitzo wanting to help his friend picks him up and tries to leave, somewhere there, an accident might have occurred causing Blitzo to have a white scar on the right side of his face, hence more blood.
That…could hold some weight. Loo-Land in present day also had a lot of notices about being sued that Robo-Fizzarolli toyed about. Maybe the incident happened during a show and demons who were parents sued when their children witnessed such an accident?

But then it doesn’t make sense why Blitz doesn’t really remember meeting Stolas.
so glad for this episode gives so much context to season 1, and makes stolas's actions both funnier and more tragic
13:26 - 13:35 You see, I had the same reaction here as y'all, and I believe that the reason for that is because this is very subtle foreshadowing.
Blitz is uncomfortable with compliments, and has trouble believing they come from a genuine place of care, therefore he views any nice comment made towards him as sarcasm. Stolas in turn is unable to read between the lines of this exchange, and continues on, oblivious to the implications he unknowingly agreed to by not negating it.
These are the same type of misunderstandings happening in their adult relationship in the present, which have left them to where they are now, unable to communicate and miserable when they both want more, and they're both at fault. Very VERY subtle, but I don't think I'm reaching too far with this theory.
Honestly solas was being a little sarcastic when he said you'll hire me. But he was sincere again when he said he'd be a good boss 🤣

My all time favorite character from Helluva Boss will always be Fizzarolli and seeing how innocent he was as a kid makes me intrigued as to what happened to him
at first i thought stolas & blitz' relationship was just a gig and i didnt want to get my hopes up (rep-wise) and it looked like he was cheating on stella just bc he wanted to.
but now seeing the backstory im invested, very very invested i wanna see them both get the love they deserve

It seems funny to see “Kid” Stolas being like Octavia during the circus scene as I believe they reuse a scene of joy of adult Stolas with his father animation. Also the twin imps are a nod to “Shining” movie or I can be wrong there. With that said, I never seen both you react to point of speechless of Blitz and Stolas “closure” moment and Kirby blushing red like her hair to the camera 😅

Stolas is a demon in Judaism. Supposedly Solomon used the Goetian (sp?) demons to build his empire. Stolas was an owl demon who was an expert on the stars, prophesies, herbs and medicine. Vivziepop tried to do her best to stay religiously accurate to her characters.

I don't think Stolas was ever really in a closet as sexuality doesn't really seem to be an issue in this version of Hell. Even Angel Dust got called "slut" rather than a "fag", or something else like it.

Seeing Stolas actually lash out at Stella is both satisfying and terrifying. It was a long time coming, but he's not prone to anger, so seeing him lose it was a "whoa" moment.
The other sad thing is that, white marks on imps are meant to be scars

The crystals were there during Blitzo's 'enslavement', and now a crystal might potentially set him free from his trauma.

What is interesting to me is that all Goetia in real world mythogoly are the fallen angels that joined Lucifer in Hell. However with Stolas being one of the many Kids of Paimon (his dad in ep) it seems that in the HB Hell most of the Goetia are actually children of the more powerful Goetia Kings. Meaning only some of the Goetia in this universe are fallen angels not all like I assumed. I guess it would explain Stolas being a prince and not a king.
