Usindiso Fire Report I Families want criminal action against those found to be liable

- The families and relatives of the 77 people who perished in the Usindiso building fire in August last year want criminal action to be taken against those fingered in the report. The Inquiry into the deadly fire found the City of Johannesburg and its entities were partially liable for the deaths. Commission Chair, Justice Sisi Khampepe, handed over the first part of the report to Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi yesterday. This following months of public hearings from victims and first respondents among others to determine the cause of the blaze which left several people injured and displaced.

Madness. You can't accrue criminal liability to municipal officials for a building which was hijacked and burnt by someone who also confessed the act.
Why did they stay there in the firstplace they new it was illegal
Now, all hijacked buildings must be evacuated for safety and security and for the authorities to avoid probable liability in case of an accident. The NGO'S and the Court's can no longer stifle the process of these necessary expulsions.
