OK, first time watching and my first thought hearing your voice was, "she sounds like Farmhouse on Boone" (and Our Oily House). You girls all have a distinctive sound. We are 60 and preparing for retirement and we have spent our adulthood thrifting just about everything we own, except for our underwear, bed mattresses, our appliances and some of our shoes. Our go to's are also our local FB no buy groups, Marketplace and then thrift shopping. Keep doin' it, girl ! You got the right idea. But be cautious not to bring in too much stuff in, which is so easily done. It starts to look messy and just too much. Practice the "one in and one out" rule. When you bring in one new thing, you have to throw, sell, gift or donate one thing you already have in your home. Trust me on this one! lol

Just discovered your channel and liking it! We'll be sixty this year and have thrifted most of our possessions since we were first married nearly 39 years ago. It used to be harder years ago because there was no Internet etc. I love the excitement of finding items we want/need for a small fraction of the cost. So satisfying. PS. Love your kitchen. Xxx

I love to treasure hunt and have been since I was a little girl dragged around with my parents! The first item is a depression glass candy dish, the second is a brass cache pot - basically used for indoor plants, and your embroidered piece is a called a dresser scarf. ❤

Once you start antiquing and shopping at peddlers malls it is almost impossible to go into home stores and buy stuff I swear! It makes it feel SO overpriced...

Every once in a while there's something cute, especially around the holidays, but yeah - it's real hard. lol. If you have the patience, you can almost always find something more beautiful (and longer lasting) for way cheaper! Plus it's kinda fun treasuring hunting. :)@@tanyajohnston8262
We are now snowbirds in Fl. We thrifted everything in our house here from Habitat for Humanity Restore! It’s the way to go! We thrift everything too!

I thrift everything for my home. I have built many collections over the years. I always receive many compliments about my collections. I find great pleasure in my thrifting sessions. I also thrift for clothes. Only purchasing intimate articles for myself. The thrill of the hunt never gets old. I am looking forward to watching your content and seeing you set up your sewing room.

Those are called embroidered dresser scarves . In my culture ( Mennonite)it used to be a part of every brides hope chest , they went out of style probably coming back in again 😅you know what goes around comes around I’ve seen it a few times now at 60 years old. You do decorate cute .

Your pink Depression glass piece is a candy dish. I have a green one just like it. But be sure it isn't a reproduction -- colored glass was in style again a few years ago, and lots of reproduction Depression glass was on the market. Not that it makes any difference when you love it and it looks good in the house.
And try hanging that great mirror horizontally above a picture frame of the same size, and just have a trumeau.

And I've been thrifting and going to yard/garage sales for years, but just started collecting antiques in the last year or so. Most of my home is thrifted. My husband and I actually own a pretty large thrift store! (I try real hard to be good, we have to sell!😊) I enjoyed the video today, thanks for sharing!
