  • This week we look at “diesel chips”
    Are they worth it?
    What do they actually do?
    Do they work?
If it’s a diesel chip, power module, rail module or any of those terms they use they are all the same thing and we look at what they are actually doing to the car and the possible outcomes.

Thanks for a great video, mate.very informative. When you say a chip, is this a plug-in or an OB2 tune I.e. like a Recurve Module

      Thanks mate!
The chip or power module I’m talking about are the ones that plug into fuel rail and or maf sensor.
The recurve module plugs into obd and loads a tune in to the ecu. This tune is generic and not custom to the vehicle.
But a much better option than a rail chip

I feel that means have to upgrade fuel injections or fuel pump or air snorkel before putting in to boost power in or bigger turbo? Please let me know any information which will give an answer for the landcruiser dual cab V8 diesel?

No need to upgrade anything. Just tune factory ecu and get good results. You will need a HD clutch though as stock won’t hold the extra torque.
Have a look at our Instagram or Facebook to see all the landcruisers we have tuned

@@procheckautomotivemechanic4551 , I have an coil conversion installation on my landcruiser which is 3900 gvm and means I may have to put in HD clutch in before getting tune factory ecu is that correct?

You may have a hd clutch already, you would have to check with installers.
But yes if you have a HD clutch get the factory tuned and it will be a completely different car to drive

@@procheckautomotivemechanic4551, My landcruiser is a normal Toyota clutch while J-mac coil conversion fitted my new coil conversion on my landcruiser dual cab so I’ll check it with Toyota people or something else. So J-Mac don’t put in HD clutch in unless I ask to put in my new car ..

so you say these wizz kids working and designing chips in the backyard are not better than these multi-million $$$ companies that do know what they are doing?

I’m not sure what you’re saying sorry, but this video is to show what rail chips do. They all work the same. Tuning the factory ecu, having a tuneable piggy back or an aftermarket ecu is the only way to know exactly what’s happening and tune it suit car
