James, jews were always safer in muslim lands than in european lands, they lived together for 1400 years without mass persecution like those in europe. Thata the whole irony in this situation
Whether it is Islamaphobia or antisemitism they true origin of hate comes from the West.
That is so not true. Jews were so called in Islamic countries, making them second class citizens. Since the Middle Ages, pogroms against Jews were declared, resulting in massacres of Jews. I guess "like those in Europe" is true enough, Jews were more tolerated in Islamic countries than in Christian Europe. Today just a small fraction of Jews live in Islamic countries, like just a few thousand. Wikipedia have a whole article on it Jewish exodus from the Muslim world
Go back then
Until an ethnostate was founded and Europeans came to colonize. That’s when the adversity truly began. Even under the Ottoman Empire Jews were safer than this.

Why would they do that simply because they have the same religion ? For a lot of these countries it's still mass immigration and ideals and identity are completely different. So like anywhere it destabilizes there hegemonic principals by having a large population increase who has a different identity. Like the difference between someone identifying as Persian vs. Arabian. But I would suppose to you on the outside they are all just middle eastern. Basically Israel got land that was populated so they by all means should integrate. As they are in fact brothers and sisters many of these Palestinians are descendants of some original Hebrews who never left. The religious aspect might have changed but the bloodlines remain.
So true
The stats coming from Israel are astonishing over 60% don't believe Israel is using enough force against Gaza and only about 3% think the force used as devastating? Knesset voted overwhelmingly against 2 states solution? Israel has the most far right leaning youthful population in the world?
Applause for Barbara 👏👏 very well said
The people did have lands though. It’s like saying I’m American, but I’m homeless and I need a 100% Catholic state. Americans have a home…America. If you’re Pole, Czech, Ukrainian etc. those are homes for those people.
Ideally poles should be in Europe. America is a nuisance and causes mayhem in Asia Africa and the Americas. If they all went back to UK Ireland Europe Africa etc it would bring a lot of peace and stability for Africa Asia and the Americas
You’re forgetting that most Jews freed from concentration camps did not have homes. Their homes had been sold as soon as they were deported to those camps. First Jews arriving to Israel from these camps usually spent at least 4 years in so-called refugees camps as they had nowhere to go and no country that wanted to take them.
Exactly,
James if the Jews needed a safe land of their own? Why not USA or European countries take them in. Germany could have given part of their county, yes or no? As they are the cause of Holocaust. And Again James stop with the Natayanu is the problem ,,this has been going on before with previous people in Israel Government.
Agreed.
And if we were living in the late 1940s the question if Israel could be founded in Europe would be one that mattered but it's 2024 Israel is where it is and looking at some alternate history where Israel was founded in South Germany is useless.
Not initially. The Germans got their gas Chamber practice in Africa. In the early 1900s. When they attempted to take the continent during WW1, All their colonies were shared out with the allies. Then again WW2. Both Italy and Germany tried again. Plan was Italy takes the top half and Germany the bottom. Unfortunately the allies already had their bases. And they couldn't break through. Those colonies kept every African alive. Now we aren't there. But 3rd time lucky. Eh. Its coming. And that is why Germany has no colonies in Africa.

It's easy to say, if you don't like the rules of the school find another.
But if 50% of the pupils are Muslim it's most likely that they are attending their local feeder school, as most kids do. It is therefore not that easy to just go to another school due to the difficulties of getting a place outside your area.
It almost feels ruthless and vindictive for a head teacher to make those rules in a large percentage Muslim school.
Backwards thinking in my opinion.
There is no harm to any other person while someone is praying but so much harm when you're blocking prayer.
What's happened to peace amongst society? 😕 😢😮
There is harm to other people, as well as the person performing the prayer.
The harm is normalizing backwards and dangerous beliefs.
If this school in question was specifically banning muslim prayer, that would be wrong in that its clearly discriminatory.
But if it bans all forms of prayer, that's fine.

I don't see what the issue is what a child does during breaks, it's not something we control at work or anywhere else so why is it okay to discriminate against children in schools?
If they are not doing anything during lessons then it's no one's business what a child does during breaks as long as it is not harming themselves or anyone else.
Now you want to bring up secular nonsense, then why do we celebrate Christmas, Easter? Why is the diet of the school in line with the headteachers religious dietary requirements?
Or is it secular only when it suits?
Is he being a boomer again? I just started the video. I’ve heard him tickle himself with some light Islamophobia last time… he means well but he has a blind spot there. The atheist movement from the gamergate era has really left its mark on his generation.
The school has a rule which everyone is aware of. If you don't like it, find another school.
On the meso level that school is defined and run as secular. The foundation and current principles are secular. When they oblige by national holidays they are just following the law. It's 2 different things.
@@charisma-hornum-fries No one is speaking about obliging national holidays, they celebrate during both periods on top the diet for the school is also in line with the headteachers belief system. Being Secular only when it's against something you obviously have a prejudice against isn't secular... it's cherry picking
Are you just going to ignore than 50% of the students are Muslim? And some Jews. So there would be different dietary requirements that the school sought to avoid by adopting a lunch menu that conformed to the dietary requirements in a secular manner. So what do you want? The child was causing disruption, and the teachers dealt with it.

A "homeland" for the _European_ Jews should've been built _in Europe._ Not on top of innocent Palestinians who _never did anything_ to European Jews - unlike other Europeans who persecuted European Jews. Now considering that the European Jews are in Palestine/Israel and they're likely not leaving, the only solution is a one state solution where everyone has equal human & civil rights.
You’re forgetting that Jews also lived there. Alongside Palestinians since the end of the 19th century. Also Jews freed from concentration camps did not have homes. @@mISSsophisa And the fact that European Jews didn't have homes was the fault of _other Europeans_ who persecuted them - not the Palestinians. It's like excusing the Moors murderer because he had a rough early life etc etc. Still had to face justice for what he did
Expel them, they can go to another school
People have different beliefs, some believe in praying and some do not believe in praying. Secularism was supposed to be religion-independent in the sense that it will not allow religious teachings to influence the school curriculum or allow imposition of religious-values in schools.
But now what we are talking about freedom of expression, freedom of speech, and freedom of thought.
Are we saying that if a person believes in praying that they are not allowed to practice their beliefs?
I don't agree with it, but I understand the argument that schools do not have to provide a prayer room and I had this rule when I attended college, but the what ALL students were allowed to do was use or book a room for any purpose, as long as it was not illegal, and people would book rooms for meetings, for homework, for debate, etc.
If someone wants, not a prayer room, but want to be able to pray, what is the issue? The Equality Act protects religious beliefs and does not allow discrimination against a person over their religious beliefs.
Are we seriously going to have a situation where wearing a crucifix, or hijab, or praying, in public is illegal, as it is in some countries, like Turkey?
Are we going to hunt down a student and exclude them from school, because we find them secretly praying somewhere, because praying offends certain people?
I am personally against people making a point of praying on public roads or trains, but living in an apparently free country that allows freedoms of expression, speech or though, how can one justify excluding people and banning them from expressing their religious vies or practicing their religion.
Iran is an Islamic country with a written constitution, based on Quran and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which there was a referendum on.
Under this constitution all religious minorities are allowed to practice their religion, and they are all represented in politics, but nobody can impose their religion on another. A marriage under Christian or Jewish rules, for example, are accepted as legitimate and do not have to be performed according to Islamic rules.
Yet in a society that claims to be a Democracy and that promotes it by wars, and goes on about freedom of speech, expression, and thought, they now want to prevent students from practicing their religion.
The solution is for students to attend non-secular schools, but there is also a campaign by secular politicians to ban even religious based schools.
The final point is that, yes, students do not have the right to pray however they want to, but the school is not talking about the way the students are praying, but they want a complete blanket ban on praying.
If the school allowed the student to go and pray privately in a room, not a prayer room, then I could support the school in not allowing prayer in the playground, but I do find it extreme to stop students from praying outside, as long as they are not forcing other students to pray.
Try making peace with all your neighbours.
Firstly!! The world needs more people like Barbara, perfectly put! Second, I'm confused about rhe whole Jewish people need a homeland! Therefore they should have a right to land because or there religion! I am a Muslim that does not mean I have an automatic right to land in Saudi Arabia! I was born in England jusy because I am a Muslim it doesn't give me a right to land anywhere else because of this!! Lastly as a Muslim with children of I want my kids to practise religion in school I would send them to a Muslim school!! Prayers can be done anywhere and often there are times when prayers can me made up! It is a secular school.. the parents who sent children there were fully aware of this before. So if a child continues to ignore the rules treat them like they were breaking any othere rule. Detentions, exclusions, and then expel of required. It's that simple!!
