As a man with no thyroid, who passes out from the heat if someone on the next desk has a cup of hot coffee, can have the keys to the file room in his hand , but still have lost them by the time he gets there, has had recurring depression for thirty years, and has to get up three times per night to use the bathroom, let me say, that I know I still don't know how bad the menopause is.
I have an underactive thyroid, and experience all of the things you have mentioned.
I'm also in my mid 40's, so I've never been sure if I was possibly peri-menopausal or something else.
Now that I have read your comment, I'm starting to think that it's probably been my thyroid issues, and I'm yet to even start menopause yet.
Oh boy, I have a lot to look forward to, it seems. 😯😥😂
@@peachyb1969 My weirdest side effect, hopefully gone now as it hasn't happened for a while (touch wood) was feeling really hungry and bloatedly full at the same time. That's just downright peculiar.
I've got other health problems but they've all seemed to get worse in recent years, I thought it was just age. But my consultant said that not having the level of thyroxin medication right causes all sorts of problems.
It's a right hassle.
I hope they get your levels sorted out quickly and that the menopause is a lot easier than what you've gone through already.
@@gilgameshofuruk4060 Oh not having the right amount of thyroxin medication can royally screw you up, I know from experience. My late mother suffered from Graves Disease and had an overactive thyroid (something I sadly inherited from her and am currently dealing with) she suffered from all the worst symptoms of the condition, including thyroid eye disease. She eventually had her thyroid removed but the aftercare treatment she had was awful as they didn't give her enough thyroxin medication. She ended up developing psychotic symptoms because of not having enough thyroid hormone (since her actual thyroid was now gone and the medication they gave her wasn't enough) she ended up being sectioned 3 times because of it.
The last one happened when I was like 6 years old (she'd developed the thyroid problems in her teens and was basically still dealing with it right into her 20's) and I still remember it, she didn't fully breakdown in front of me but it was pretty scary.

@@j.c7719 excuse me I watched an interview with the entire cast and Ruby was there Jen always waited until the last minute to get the scripts done then sent it to Ruby she edited and added lines in fact the line Patsy had about someone being so anal she sucks up the furniture when she sits down I think it was a series of interviews called How to be Absolutely Fabulous Ruby and Jen are good friends in fact and Jen is a wise lady she shares the wealth and it benefits her she’s not proud.
@@j.c7719 use Google! Very easy to find she was a script writer from 2009-2012. I wanted to respond back after my curiosity as to when she was involved.
@@survivor648 Script editor on two episodes, she didn’t write it. It wasn’t running 2004 to 2011. A script editor doesn’t write a show, they edit it. Hence the job title.

I'm glad she wasn't in too much of the show. No doubt good writer, but raucous, crude and overbearing. Here she is quite funny, but more of Ruby would have been less of the rest. Loved this show totally.

Her character was called Candy 🍬🍭 and she worked with Pasty and her boss Magda and a guy named Sante who Magda thought called Santa 🎅LOL! She reported to Magda that Linda Evangelista, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell were managing to keep their weight low but that the new models thought make themselves sick 🤢. I'm guessing it was a joke but I thought Candy 🍬🍭 was being irresponsible by encouraging models to be anorexic or bulimic.
The greatest thing about this sketch is that it’s a teaming of both British and American comedic actresses.

If Ab Fab was so offensive, even by today's standards, then the PC "woke" folks that people like you CONSTANTLY love to whinge about, would have screamed to have the show cease even showing any re-runs, anywhere in the world.
