  • The Baby That Changes the Destiny "NEWS OF PREGNANCY"
    Magnificent Century Episode 5 👉 • Magnificent Century Ep...
    At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
    The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
    As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

    The title Haseki Sultan never existed before Suleiman married Hürrem. He created it specially for her, which made her equal to Suleiman and above everyone else in the Empire. She never bowed to anyone else including Suleiman's sisters after the marriage because she outranked all of them. There are lots of such inaccuracies in the series, but yes, I'm addicted to it... All the actors are wonderful

      @@gucciwest86 by no means, she was a Hatun, not even a Sultana, let alone Haseki. The title was created especially for Hurrem as Suleyman wanted her to rule the Harem after his beloved Valide died. In order for Hurrem to be able to rule, she had to had a title that outranked all others, including dynasty Sultanas.
      Even the mothers of the Sultan were Valide Hatuns before Ayse Hafsa Sultan. The title Sultan was reserved for blood members of the dynasty. The title Valide Sultan was also a creation of Suleyman to honour his mother when he ascended the throne. The Harem was in the Old Palace but Suleyman started great renovations in the Topkapi as he wanted his mother and his harem to live in the same palace as him. Unfortunately, Ayse Hafsa passed away before the renovations were complete. But after the marriage, which occured only after Valide's passing, Haseki Hurrem Sultan and her children lived in the Topkapi Saraj.
      The series is great but there are a lot of inaccuracies concerning titles and other events. Most characters were butchered or there are fictional characters that never existed.

Can't say for sure if it was done in this series, but I know that in the Kösem one the design choices for each harem lady's wardrobe were chosen to reflect their character arcs/nature (always wondered if that's why Hürrem's gowns lean more vibrant while Mahidevran's are often more subdued colors).

    😮 I never understood this point at all. Like why? She was Sultan's favourite, his concubine, but still was allowed to be married off another man? Or is it innacurate? Because how, the woman from ruler's harem could be another man's wife? Ridiculous 🙄

      Eh, that’s debatable, I wouldn’t go so far as to say she’s the spawn of Satan, but I doubt you’d stay a perfect angel when living in the harem, you have to play a bit dirty to get your way no matter who you are at some point in that kind of life

    Hürren was born and lived in Kingdom of Poland ,not "Ruthenia". Her Birthplace was the polish town Rohatyn.

    • @oxanatarashchuk4598
      @oxanatarashchuk4598 Před měsícem

      What? Rohatyn isn't a Polish town, stop daydreaming. Yes it was in those times captured by Poland (from 1340) but before that on that land was Halytian-Volynian Principality, now Ivano-Frankivsk region, Ukraine. And that was actually the part of Ruthenia before (from the 10th century). So her nationality isn't russian (there wasn't any country with that name those times, only some principalities that weren't united), nor Polish. Capturing this land doesn't make the nation automatically of those the invaders. But you're right that she wasn't even from Crimea. Historically innacurate. And her name was Anastasia Lisowska, not Alexandra. But the fact that she was a daughter of Orthodox priest, is actually true. Catholic priests couldn't be married, and if she was Polish by nation, she should've been the daughter of another man, but not the priest. Ruthenians (then halicians) were Orthodox Christians by the times they were captured by Poland. Later, some of them changed the confession, but those were rare cases. Polish people had never been Orthodox, they had always been Catholics (there are exceptions, but still). So it's another proof that Nastya (Hurrem) had never been Polish by nationality

      @@oxanatarashchuk4598 I see that you live in some imaginary world. The town of Rohatyn was founded and built by Poles and was located in the Ruthenian Voivodeship of the Kingdom of Poland. Rus is a geographical term, there were several countries in this area. Today's so-called Ukrainians claim imaginary rights to the exclusive right to these areas. In fact, the former Rusyns have very little in common with the current inhabitants of these areas. These are the historical facts. The town did not exist in 1340. The Polish king Casimir the Great inherited the territories of part of Ruthenia. After the last ruler who came from the Piast line, just like him. Study history instead of making up some nonsense.

      No, just a survivor. If these girls birthed a prince, well, only one prince survived and they were desperate to ensure it was their child that did.
      This environment created a scenario in which the most manipulative, most devious and in many cases the most absolutely ruthless ones 'won'.
