Los Angeles-based artist Ramiro Gomez addresses issues of immigration and labor in his poignant depictions of faceless, brown-skinned housekeepers and child caretakers. His cardboard cut-outs and paintings on pages from luxury magazines represent the many immigrant laborers that remain invisible to most. Gomez's work has featured in exhibitions at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Denver Art Museum, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and Museum of Latin American Art (MoLAA) among many others.
