I was on child support court once. The man before me had 3 kids and behind in child support. He said he went back to school so he could go further in his profession. The DA said the kids need you to work more than they need you in school. And they locked him up with a purge bond....

Why do judges act like regular people deal with court proceedings regularly and know everything they are supposed to do especially without an expensive lawyer. I bet you if that judge went to that mans job and was asked to do it, he wouldn't naturally know everything he is supposed to do as well.
That’s why you always hire a lawyer when dealing with legal matters. Everyone is held to the same standard in most courts. Not saying it’s right, but that’s exactly the expectation put on anyone who walks into court. If you can’t speak the language hire an interpreter (lawyer)

Well that old saying a person that represents himself is a fool. And a person who doesn't want to hire a lawyer or even get a court-appointed attorney but expects the court to be lenient and help you along the way is 👎. Get an attorney! Or take time to read, get legal help, etc before your case.
There is a way that court works. It works that way whether you know it or not. You can either attempt to educate yourself on the law, or hire a lawyer. If you don’t know something, that’s your own fault. You can always use Friend of the Court and Legal Aid if you need. You gotta take some responsibility.

If she was receiving more money per month than she was supposed to receive, all she had to do was return the extra money to him every month. Just because the court didn’t act on her notification, she could have done the right thing. These entitled women get on my nerves.

Child support should NEVER supplement mom's income. It's mind blowing how old values are placed on modern women. We are fully capable of earning a great income, in a lot of cases, more than men. If she doesn't make enough money, it's her own fault! The child should live with the parent who can afford them.

If you get overpaid by the government, you will have to give it back. My blind friend was mistakenly overpaid by Social Security (their mistake) and when they realized it, they took it back by reducing his benefits. She was hoping that the court would not make her repay her ex.
Facts. I know several people that got hit with a "hardship," and recieved $0 / month until the overage was recouped.

Not taking him to court for child support is even better; if he's already making sure his child/children are being taken care of by him providing for them whatever they ask of him. School supplies, clothing, half of medical bills, and getting them toys or whatever extra things the children want..... If the father is doing for his child; don't put him on child support, a real woman who is not built for chaos would definitely work with the child's dad not work against him.

I'm making the similar comment as others that you should always have a attorney in court. I have been in law enforcement for over 30 years many as a Drug Court Investigator being in court daily. I also have a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice but I am not a attorney, attorneys have special training and know not only the law but all the court rules and how to file motions. Regular people just don't have the experience so always have a attorney in court !

My husband was paying for a eXtra child 4 when it was supposed to be 3 but we were told they couldn’t do anything because it was a court ordered amount. They did reduce but he’s never got 1 penny back!

Sounds as if she submitted documentation but the court or Family Services did not adjust child support based on her income. If that is the case, then they owe dad the difference between what he paid and what was owed PLUS interest ! Then, she is to repay them !
