Blender 2.8 - OBJ materials are not imported properly - [ SOLVED ]

While importing the obj the materials are not imported properly, this video shows one of the trouble shooting tips to solve the issue.

Yes it worked for you because you renamed the mtl file before shooting this video, so you could "successfully solve" the problem. Actually, the problem in your video doesnt exist. How many percent is the chance that the creator of the file mistypes the name of the mtl file?
A real problem could be solved like, what if you DON'T HAVE the mtl file, it was not included? What if you have the mtl file but it still doesn't appear in blender?

Doesn't work for me in Blender 2.92. Checked the name carefully and also removed the empty line at the end of the obj file.

It didn't work for me. I looked inside the OBJ to make sure the names matched and it still didnt work

Open obj with notepad ++
Scroll all the way down
Delete empty line at the bottom
Save/ import obj

Thank you, can confirm it works for 3ds Max 2018 as well. Another error might be the folder name, make sure it does not have any special characters as that can also stuff it up (This was my issue)

try switching to the latest version of Blender, if it still doesn't work, try reinstalling the latest version and restart your PC otherwise idk whats wrong

Hello, I opened both files in a text editor, changed the file name for the mtl file, but it's still importing as an all white object. Can you help? The file names look correct now, but it's still importing without texture.
