David Cameron has reached out to the Liberal Democrats in an effort to form a government - after the UK general election resulted in a hung parliament.
The Tory leader, whose party won most seats but was short of a majority, said he wanted to make a "big open and comprehensive offer" to the Lib Dems.

I've checked the last time there was a hung parliament back in 1974 and they had another election before the year ended. There is no way forward, Camerons not helping Labour didn't help. To make progress we need a leader who knows how to lead. It's not going to happen, they're all too wrapped up in their own self importance.

@Hobospaz immigration is a problem, however conservatives policy was simply a cap on immigration, whereas lib dem had a better proposal: for a points system, similar to australias. I dont vote. There all corrupt, the system has the people under control, wether you realise or not.

If you realy believe that he can deliver change you need your head checking mate. Firstly he don't want to CHANGE the political system, secondly his policy on immigration won't work so that won't CHANGE a thing, 3rdly he don't want to CHANGE a taxing system that allows the poor to get even poorer and the rich to get richer.

Labour supporters tell us things were bad under the Tories. They are partially right things were grim when they first took power in the 80s and had to clean up Labours mess
But things were pretty good by the mid 90s the economists called it the Goldilocks economy not too hot. not too cold, just right. In 1996 Englands economic competitiveness was second only to America its about 20th now.

I have a couple of questions: with the Tories in power, does this mean that here in Scotland, our devolved government will cease to exist causing it to merge with the UK one? And will this also affect the Scottish Legal System?

I'm 14 years old and I have to say from the young generation's point of view - this is a stunning speech. Conservative is the best thing for this country - don't judge my comment all because I'm younger - believe me, I know alot about politics. Labour has screwed this country up majorly. Conservative is the best thing for this country, they the best laws. They have a limit on immigration and many other fantastic laws. Afterall it was Conservative who got us through World War 2.

Cameron has no principles; if he did, he would keep to his promises. There really is no difference between the three main parties; they play up minor issues such as a one percent rise in National Insurance, a cap on non-EU migration and whether to implement the Alternative Vote. On the biggest issue of all, who governs Britain, there is an agreement between Labour and the coalition that this country should be part of a European superstate. This is not very conservative.

David Cameron will become the best Prime Minister we have had since Churchill. Honest, sensible policies, delivered with a genuine care and understanding for the people he is serving. Lessons have been learned. I think he has handled these last few days with dignity. The same cannot be said for Gordon Brown. |I wish David all the best. We need change now and he will deliver.
