Here, we bring to you a recreated version of Pookkalam (that we released last year), a poem by one of the great poets of Kerala, Kumaranasan.
This project was a brainchild of our dear friend Sri Pramod Kumar ji and it was our honour and pleasure to set to tune this great poet's work!
This was shot at a place away from the city, "Elements" - a place designed with recycled wood and glass, solar powered - designed in a way to bring in natural light and with the beautiful surroundings of nature, creating a serene and perfect ambience for creative arts! shajujohn.com/a...
This was amazingly shot by Mr Shaju John and Mr Arun Janardanan and the recreated version which brings to you new visuals is beautifully edited by Ms Isha hannah!

Ah! What a soothing and lovely rendition with aptly befitting ragas to suit the mood! A feast for the senses! The naturally pleasant disposition of Akkarais heightens the enjoyment. Beautiful setting with lovely photography and thank you for calling out environmentally friendly features of this place. Superb production in every aspect! Kudos to the rest of the team as well. Would love to see more Carnatic music videos like this! This is not something we can just watch once. Will be coming back to this over and over… It is heartening to see the new generation keeping Carnatic music thriving! Thank you 🙏

എല്ലാടവും പുഷ്പഗന്ധം പരത്തി
മെല്ലെന്നു തെക്കുന്നു വീശുന്നു വായു,
ഉല്ലാസമീ നീണ്ട കൂകൂരവത്താ-

കാണുന്നിതാ രാവിലേ പൂവു തേടി

പാടങ്ങള്‍ പൊന്നിന്‍‌നിറം‌പൂണ്ടു, നീളെ-
പ്പാടിപ്പറന്നെത്തിയിത്തത്തയെല്ലാം
കേടറ്റ നെല്ലിന്‍ കതിര്‍ക്കാമ്പുകൊത്തി-
ക്കൂടാര്‍ന്ന ദിക്കോര്‍ത്തു പോകുന്നു വാനില്‍.
ചന്തം ധരയ്ക്കേറെയായ് ശീതവും പോ-
യന്തിക്കു പൂങ്കാവിലാളേറെയായി
സന്തോഷമേറുന്നു, ദേവാലയത്തില്‍
പൊന്തുന്നു വാദ്യങ്ങള്‍-വന്നൂ വസന്തം!

A Lovely Raaga Maalikaa! Kedaar, Sahaana, Shuddh Saarang / Shyam Kalyan / Hamir kalyan??? , Anandha Bhairavi, Kaapi, Dwajavanti and Surutti. (I believe, my interpretations are right Except the 3rd one). Though each Raagaa has got its own beauty & flavour, Kaapi is my Top Pick. What a Fine Finish in Surutti! Very very mild Rhythm so soothing to ears. Each frame has been imaginatively shot in various locations from various angles and camera has been on the move. A ONam Treat to Ears & Eyes and of course, to our mind too!
