How many hours of labor would you say this is at a mechanic? I was quoted $865 to replace crank shaft sensor after a $150 diagnostic. Seems a bit much. 2015 fiat 500sprt

I could only guess at no more than 3 or 4 hours , but maybe someone else can chime in. It is slightly involved , as the heat shield and catalyst has to come out. Having said that I would not want to pay that much for a sensor replacement. Seems excessive. Definitely price around and check with some mobile mechanics. Thanks for the question.

I am looking to get my crank sensor replaced as well and I've had people quote me from 500 - 1000 dollars. Seems a little too much for a sensor replacement. I get that there is a lot of things in the way that need to be removed, but what is a good price I should be getting for a job like this?

I would most definitely do this myself for that price , if you have the tools needed. You might be able to find a good mobile mechanic that can do it for less .Thank you for the feedback

What year of Fiat is this? I need to replace the crankshaft sensor on a 2012 pop and am not sure which part to get.

My kingdom for someone else to come and finish installing this stupid thing. I have the cat off and all the garbage that goes with it and I can't seem to line up the sensor to save my life!!! It took a couple hours removing everything due to rusty nuts on the heat shields and the V band clamp is not the easiest to get a socket on but the hardest part is trying to line up the new sensor to get the damn bolt started!!! Well...back at it I guess. I'll comment again if I find a trick to get the job done. (Engine is in the car)

It is a bit tricky , once lined up it goes in easily , same for removal. Hope all goes well. Thanks for the feedback.

Turns out the trick is an inspection camera and an extra set of hands. Not a job I would ever do again unless absolutely necessary.
