I’ve worked with several women, who in their culture, were taught that their periods made them unclean, to the point they aren’t allowed into temples, or in the kitchen, or to worship at all during their moons. Helping them reconnect and heal with this huge and beautiful part of themselves has been some of the most rewarding work I’ve got to be a part of. My daughter is 10 and I’m already planning her red tent/first moon celebration. I will raise her to honor her moon. So important, great topic Mia! ❤️
I have two daughters; only 3 and 5 yet, but I would love to learn how to help them honor their moon times when they get to that point. At the time, my first moon time was embarrassing, I would love for them to have a different perspective and embrace their moons. Have you ever thought of, or do you teach any classes for caregivers who want to learn how to help kids embrace that change?
@@melissareeder99 that’s a great idea! I’ve never done any classes but I do have a humble little channel dedicated to my craft, so I’ll try to put together some important talking points and other exercises/rituals for honoring our moon. And maybe some red tent celebration ideas.
I know some moms/caregivers who plan these celebrations for years prior. So if anything, you’re just getting an early start on making sure your girls have a kick ass first moon, and to start getting them excited about it! Being a woman is something to celebrate 365 days a year 🥰

This was such a magic-filled transmission Mia, thank you once again for sharing these deep talks. When I was 12 I had bad period cramps and told my teacher I'd needed to go home and she said something like "if we all skipped school or work every time our periods came, we wouldn't get anything done" and I remember standing there confused and irritated. 10 years later, I see that the internalized patriarchal beliefs are so strong. But luckily more women are learning about the sacredness and power of their bodies. Love you Mia 🦋🦋

I wish I had been introduced to this concept when I first started getting my period. But I grew up during a time where "honoring your moon" would have been laughed at and discouraged. Now I'm all about it, and my moon cycles are wrapping up. Makes me sad that I couldn't honor them more.

Ok Mia now I’m crying. I’ve always honoured my moon, always helped sisters to start honouring theirs.. always been a big advocate for the moon cycle and the female empowerment. Two years ago I had my daughter. I got my moon back 3 month’s after her birth. I felt proud and happy and welcomed my blood with a ceremony! Then suddenly 6 months ago my moon disappeared! Every month I’ve cried, asking the universe for it back. And boom… you post this and it came back yesterday 🔥🧡 I’m so so so in awe over this magical circumstance! ☮️🥰

Thank you so much for this I'm literally crying. I have endometriosis and the pain makes me wish for death almost every month. I've healed a lot over the years through diet but I still struggle with being able to afford all the things I have found to really heal me on a consistent basis. I firmly believe a huge part of it stems from the amount of sexual violence I've experienced in this life and a few others I'm aware of. So I've also been trying to heal and shift in that area as well but oh my goddess, girl it is the most challenging lesson of this life for me.

THANK YOU for this video! I'm so upset that I grew up learning that period blood is dirty as it flushes out toxins from our body. I'm still in the process of unlearning this mentally and physically, which is why I caught myself raising my eyebrows when you mentioned feeding your plants or earth with period blood, or anytime someone mentions doing rituals with period blood. of course love, i still feel that way sometimes too, like if im going to have a friend over while im on my moon and i want to have my facial on. i get so nervous of being judged and grossing them out. but my closest friends know its just what you get with me now and they accept me with my bloody face and all haha!

I’ve been considering creating another bedroom that my partner can sleep in while I’m bleeding but felt a little bad about it bc I don’t want him to feel like I’m telling him I don’t want to share a space with him most of the time. But hearing you talk about doing this yourself makes me realize this is the way 💜

Subconsciously being attracted to wearing all black during one's moon time is an interesting topic, especially on the first day of your cycle. I always thought it just makes sense to wear black during that time, but after watching this video I think it goes deeper than just wearing black. During the night of a New Moon; it's pitch black and dark out, the most fertile soil is a deep brown almost black color. Ties in with the "Signs and synchronicities" video.

I’m on my moon cycle in this moment. This remembrance revealed itself for me a few days ago naturally and casually. It’s already within my cells and you’ve further confirmed this!! At this time, I noticed that it was “late” and its been coming on at diff times for a few months now. I noticed how much in the matrix I’ve been: i.e. Working late at night, controlling things, being tense, constantly creating, not creating space for self love as much as I get to. My ex never said anything, but he was obviously concerned that I was putting my moon blood into the food plants that we were growing, (yuk) like, NO! I put my house plants & vines in the tub in the bathroom when I'm bleeding to put my moon blood "into the Earth" as a way to honor Mother Earth for the blessings I've been given.
That's my gratitude & giving back.
