Matt purchased this 2011 Crown Vic P71 from an online auction site called GovDeals.com for about $2,000. In the past, I have also owned a 2008 P71 that I purchased from an in person NJ state vehicle auction. We decided to create this video to show others who are looking to buy a used P71 Crown Victoria Police interceptor how to get the best deal, where to find these cars locally and online and what you should expect to pay for a clean, running and driving example.
Please enjoy the sound of the exhaust coming from the 4.6 (281ci) V8 Ford modular engine. Is this a reliable car? Would we recommend this car for first time buyers? Absolutely! These cars are built like tanks. Safety, performance, and handling
Wikipedia Excerpt: "After the discontinuation of the Chevrolet Caprice, the Ford Motor Company held a near-monopoly on the market for police cruisers in the United States and Canada for over a decade. The conventional rear-wheel drive, V8 power, and body-on-frame construction were considered advantageous for police use. The body-on-frame construction allowed inexpensive repairs after collisions without the need to straighten the chassis. Rear-wheel drive was deemed better for hard maneuvers and more robust than the front-wheel-drive competition for rough driving over curbs and other obstacles in the urban environment.
Although Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors (CVPIs) were not sold to the general public, they are widely available used in North America once they are decommissioned and no longer in service in law-enforcement and fleet duty. The cars are in demand by taxi companies, those who want a safe, durable, and/or inexpensive car, and those who need a car with a bench seat that can take three passengers in the back. The CVPI came equipped with many heavy-duty parts, such as a revised transmission, and a 186 kW (253 PS; 249 hp) 4.6 ford modular V8 engine. Used versions are normally stripped of any police decals, computer equipment, police radios, and emergency lights before being sold or auctioned to the public."

Here is an in depth video on how to buy one of these P71 Crown Victoria's at an auction (online or in person). Happy Bidding!
2011 is actually a P7B, not a p71. The fire suppression system was an additional $5,000 option and uncommon. The stab-resistant seat backs were factory, but the bullet resistant doors were again, optional and not common. As for the deals being up front, potential buyers don't always like to spend hours to wait until the end. With proxy bidding, I suggest overbidding to ensure your chances of winning, but keep within your budget.
Thanks for the info.
He did a quick Google search for info... lol don't expect him to know what he is actually talking about... this is youtube after all bud....
I have 2 of these cars and am trying for another one. Paid 3k for my first Vic 6 years ago from a dealer and I’ve been hooked since. Then I managed to get one last year from govdeals for $1600. It was a K-9 unit and still had the cage in it. But when I picked up the car it not only had the cage, but still had lights, siren, and radio too. Along with the riot gear in the truck. The car was a mess, it stunk, and felt like it had a film of slime on it. Yeah, I drove it home with all windows down. That was a year ago…… I’ve put over $3.5k into fixing it up including ford racing intake manifold, egr, new tires, coils and plugs, and a built transmission. The transmission was the only thing I didn’t do myself. And yes I kept it looking the same as I got it. And that other one I’m trying to get? Also off govdeals, for a parts car. I say parts car but I know when I get it I’m gonna try to get it running good. Such is the case when you live the Vic life.
Thanks for sharing your crown Vic story

So that's why you have a mustache! Hahaha! Love it!
Lol exactly
I replaced my drivers front door window regulator with one from the junk yard. Drive cable snapped. It was an easy job.
Good to hear that
were you driving around Ewing NJ in the early parts of the video? I know the later half when you are showing the auction part, that's in Trenton. I go to those auctions and I thought I was crazy because everything looked so familiar. I probably met you at one of these. Great video btw
Yeah this video was filmed on location in Ewing NJ. I’m glad you enjoyed it. See you at the next auction.
One of the best cars ever produced. If you argue your lying too your self or haven’t driven one for any amount of time.
Yeah they are smooth and built like tanks
Nice car just bought exactly the same car in Toronto luv it but your car sounds alot meaner then mine?
Nice! What gear is yours? This is the 2011 model year.
Ive got a 09 sap ex secret service take home unit its got 153k miles only problem power steering line went thats it had it since 57k miles. MPG is amazing for this type of vehicle, I have a pickup and its a pig I drive the vic most of the time.
Yeah I was very surprised with the MPG too. Especially on the highway
@HonJazzz do you recommend a way of contracting a local vehicle inspector to inspect a car for you if the auction is in another state? Or is it just luck of the draw with Gov Deals?
You could give that a try if it makes you feel more comfortable. I personally have just bought sight unseen but I try not to overpay in case there is an unknown problem. Good luck
Just to keep you informed from 2009 to 2011 the vin number starts with P7B NOT P71 THEY HAVE CHANGED IT. The only time you will see that vin number P71 it ends from 2008 back to 1999
I hope these will still be available in 2 years when I'm getting a car
Yes, you’ll be able to get one ☝🏻
@@HonJazzz Thanks for the encouragement. I'm gonna be flying over from Europe though, I really want that car
@@maaax1173 nice I bet that will be really unique over in Europe
Try using the fingerless driving gloves, I use them everyday all day... get them at walmart or truck stops, you will thank me later.
Good idea. Thank you
You don't have a 2011 P71. You have a 2011 P7B, as noted in your VIN. And the windows were not factory tinted, as noted by the receipt from my local county paying for my 2011 P7B to be tinted by a local shop.
Hello what about inop cars at the state auction. Cars that’s not running
Yeah, if you’re mechanically inclined or looking to learn you can go for it and get a good deal. Just inspect it first.
I thought 2011 CVPI's were designated P7B on their vin #
Most the Vics I see are high milege and beat to death. Even the high milege are priced too high. U got a great deal with relatively low mileage.
My CV Sport has 250,000 on clock my Marauder 60,0000.
Many of the vehicles I've seen on police sales on Internet not in the best of shape , paint, body dents , motor trans, etc. I'm sure there are some good ones but have to look hard.
Thanks for the great info I learned a lot.
Yeah it’s getting tough to find a deal these days
@@HonJazzz Just bought a 06 P71 with 72k miles for 3 grand
@@EricZAchille good deal
@@HonJazzz Thanks! It also has the side airbags (it was an option before 08) and I got it from an online auction in Virginia. It has no push bar but has front lamp and rear cage.
@@EricZAchille okay that’s good 👍🏻 you can always add the brush bar if you’d like later
i don't know if i want to test mine over a curb :)
Haha 😂
So P7B is a police interceptor on the vin number it’s a police model only on cop cars
My 07 and 11 both weight at 3,995 pounds with no fuel. I weighed them both on a professional scale. A 98 or 99 shows 3,917 on the books, not 4,700 pounds.
YOU WANNA LOOK LIKE A COP!
7:19 What website did you say here?
Govdeals.com
theyve got fleet keys right?
It depends on the department.
20 mpg in town good luck! And 4700 lbs lol not even close more like just over 4000 lots of misinformation in this video
20mpg on the highway still no lol
I don't know my guy. I just bought a 2008 p71 and drive 40 miles to work every day and before that I drove my girls 2021 altima. I literally spend the same amount of money in gas back and fourth AND I'm in LA so you know the prices here are horr9 le
too bad i dont live in the states
God they ruined that rear with the white
That’s what I was thinking. That black colored facia makes it pop.
2011=P7B bud
Was that a fucking lightning f150?
We just gonna pretend PornHub didn't pop on his phone before searching on Google? 🤣
Hahahahaha
