so which has been your favorite so far.. noticed you have used the longtail, the twister, and now the sd.. how much does the speed vary betwen the three of them? iv got a 1436 that i would like to put a motor on but cant decide what to get.. thanks
I see they don't have a kit for the 22 hp but I'd imagine as long as the shaft size is the same it would work with their kit, which they don't have in stock...
But how does this preform in Mud. You would have thought since its called a mud skipper we could have seen how it does in mud not a creek. if its only 6 or 7 hp it isnt going to do much but puddle jump
how do you like the 6 hp surface drive vs longtail?
I can attest to the small mower batteries. Wal mart has them for like 20 bucks plus core. Been using it on my Predator 670.
are you still happy with the motor?
No reverse?
Top speed?

The long tail is the fastest and the simplest, but takes more to control and go long distances with
Have you ever tried to put a cavitation plate on the long tail? would it make it a little easier to handle?
Do you happen to know how many amps the motor throws toward the battery?
I do not, but I’m sure if you contact Mud Skipper they’d be able to help with any questions you may have

+John Doe keep in mind the distance from the bottom of the motor to the shaft
lol, figures these would come out like right after I buy an SPS kit.

We got strong currents here in Southern Ohio on the Scioto River.. there ain't nothing like hauling ass! 60 miles an hour Upstream in an Airboat !!!
Of course long tails and surface Drive which I have. Great on gas can pretty much get you anywhere..but the speed sucks...

What was that at 3:22?
dbruce9035 rope over the creek, no clue what it’s for but it’s been there for years
Yall were almost taking on water when you came to a stop that motor must be really heavy
It’s not that heavy, light enough for one person to carry. Probably a combination of being on the verge of planing and coming to an abrupt stop.
