- I was able to get up to almost 23 mph with a 15HP surface drive Mud-Skipper on a 1236 Jon Boat. This thing has been an absolute blast to fish out of and explore the local rivers.

Super rad bro!!! Looks like a lot of fun.
Awesome video...
I have the 5-7 hp model on my 1236 Jon boat and it's direct drive, is that model direct drive or clutch driven?
its has a small clutch right off the shaft of the motor.. then it is belt driven to the prop shaft.
just got one for my 1750 a v twin 20hp
Stock governed rpm?
ya, bone stock, no mods yet.
Any problem proposing? I have a 1436 and still in testing phase. Mine wants to porpoise
nope... works good for me.
Mine to now!!! Got 25mph so far.
@@bp30656 that's pretty good
Thinking about buying this. How has it been holding up?
We used it all summer, it went out on maybe 10 fishing trips... as of right now it wrapped up in a tarp because it winter un here in the PNW. Its pretty stout really. The only thing that took any damage was the prop, and that was only because we were cruising in about 8" of water.
@@dingalsbe88 right on brother, thank you! I’m from the PNW myself. Just saw your white pass video, I used to snowboard there all the time. Currently live in Utah though.
@@derekroybal8619 yep, we go there often.
did you do the through bolt?
though the transom? Yes, I later drilled it and installed it.
What your top speed and cruising speed?
22 mph top speed with one person in it. I'm not sure on what I actually cruise at.. probably 15ish?
What size is your boat?
12 foot
