The UK had a divine taste for Cliff Richard while we here in the states sadly turned our noses upward.
mrob75. Absolutely. How a song like this never did anything really remarkable over here in the USA is absolutely unthinkable. It’s a catchy song would have been a great number one over here.
Cliff's snazzy outfit and performance of this entry at Eurovision were sensational!
I did not know that Cliff recorded on this label
It would also be Mr. Richard's last UK #1 until "We Don't Talk Anymore" in 1979. Of course, he would before then finally break through in the U.S. in 1976 with "Devil Woman."
Perfect Pop, for sure .. if not one of Cliff's very best recordings: Boom Boom Boom Boom! ;o)
For Sarah Jane 68 👩🏻🎓
🤭❤
George Harrison borrowed (or stole?) the tune of the chorus for his song "It's Johnny's Birthday" from the All Things Must Pass album.
Or maybe "sampled"?
It’s funny to see Cliff as a cult figure amongst Americans when as the other commentator said he is a massive cultural figure over here in the U.K.
