In low elo if you one move hang a piece, and the opponent doesn't immediately take it, you don't rectify your error because that would be admitting that you've made an error, and your opponent doesn't take it because then he'd admit that he missed taking a piece. What follows is a gentlemen agreement to proceed as if the piece is defended.
Alternatively, neither of them even notice that they hung a piece and keep playing the game completely oblivious to that fact. But yes, low elo players are indeed chivalrous gentlemen. It describes us low elo players to a tee
And, if that gentleman agreement is violated, it is because one of the players just realized that a piece was hanging

Anytime Gotham in the future tells us, “You will not believe the next move white/black played” or “You couldn’t pay me to tell you why they played this move” I’m just immediately assuming they played a3, h3, h7, a7.
I’d be impressed if a pawn managed to move to h7/a7 seeing as that’s where they start
@@pleaseenteraname9414 Well technically it could be a white pawn
@@lokitac4748 Technically it could be any piece except the opposite colored bishop.
@@JoeARedHawk275 how? when there's no letter before the square name, its a pawn.
Either that or some random king move
16:49 I lost it when he paralyzed both rooks for no reason hahaha
The last black move is queen attack the rook so he defend it. Now I realize most of white movements is to protect piece that attacked by black last move regardless its situation

That was the stupidest move ever, but I do want to defend the queen trade that he offers imemdiately after since it would have freed the rooks lol.

literally reads the future
I'm like 910 and honestly totally relate to these guys. some games I'll feel like I'm playing amazingly, then the analysis afterward says I had 3% accuracy and blundered checkmate in 3 10 different times, then other games I'll feel like I played horribly and didn't do anything right and the analysis will say 90% accurate on both sides. chess is hard.
The former happened to me so many times that now many times after I played what I think was a good game I expect the engine to laugh at me. It happened to me so many times in the last 3 years that even when I play a legit good game I don't believe it unless I see the engine say it. For instance, a week or two ago I played the kind of position where both players are usually laughed at by the engine, after finishing the game I was like OK let's see what the engine has to say about this game, let's see how it will laugh at me and the engine said that my average centipawn loss was 16 in that game. I often have no idea what the engine will say about my games. Although sometimes I don't care about what the engine has to say about my game because sometimes my blunders are only punishable by ridiculous lines that only a titled player would see.
2 months gone you must have improved a lot
Alright, I hope I can farm ELO from your guys one day 🤣
Even if you're a 900 you'll be NOTHING like as bad as this.
If you won the analysis is worth zero, nada.
18:14 Bro, I fucking died. Literal tears at that triple rook hang. And that random checkmate at the end LMAO. I think that might be the best game I've seen on this playlist.

I've seen every How to lose at Chess but 16:38 might actually be the dumbest move I've ever seen.
Amazing game and commentary.
definitly an insanely bad move.
someone should make a ranking list of the worst games / moves
I was so sure it was going to be pawn b3. I don't think that rook move was even inside my comprehension of things you could do
Truly insane move, the logic must have been that the rook was under attack and therefore must be defended, forgetting that you can just move the a2 rook out of danger. But it's so unbelievably ugly
Worst move ever was the one that forced your opponent to play mate in one
@@Pattonator14 thinking back the only redeemable excuse would be that he selected the wrong rook and instead of dragging simply clicked the a1 square.. but seeing the rest of the game I'm really not sure
Levy very accurately predicted the 6month part. Hey from the future
well shit
Hello from me too!
Sameee😊
I think i missed the prediction. What is it?
me watching it 6 months later: HOW DO YOU KNOW?
The real reason black deleted their account was when they went to the analysis and found out en passent exists, they realized that everything they thought they knew about chess was a lie, and subsequently deleted their account in favor of continuing their endless quest to find a mate that they will never fulfill because they are uncultured enough to not play en passent when it’s the best move.
💀💀💀💀💀
I usually try not to laugh at novices playing chess as we all at one time or another played just as bad plus I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from playing but at 16:55 that rook move made me laugh my ass off out loud lol

This is roughly my ELO in blitz and watching this makes me say “how come I don’t get opponents this easy?!” In reality, I probably do but don’t have Gotham’s advice nearby. Great analysis.
I think these people are 700 elo... in rapid.
@@ruthxk7844 Yeah, 700 blitz is probably around 900 or 1000 rapid.
But still, your opponents do make dumb mistakes, trust me, because I am 1800 and even my opponents do make dumb mistakes.
I just hate when people play pepega pacman chompchomp everything in their sight openings... 😑 The thing is, sometimes I just don't know how to capitalize against their terrible plays because they just played so terrible that I don't understand and they somehow got lucky forks or pins, when both players develop their own pieces, it's the beginning of a great game lol there was once both of us didn't touch any of the other's pieces till move 15 or something, best game of my life lol
@@amoldivo What is the rating of your opponents? You need to see what is attacked and what is defended in the position. You also need to see checks both for yourself and for your opponent.
Rda1 must be one the most amazing moves ever made. I had to get up because my laughter was too strong for a sitting person.
Have to make your stand here?
0:50 "if you're watching this 6 months later because of the CZcams recommended algorithm, welcome!"

Plot twist: Levy actually makes up those games with fake accounts just to make jokes about them afterwards. It's a form of pure art like a painting.
Bro they coming after you man you know too much
As someone floating around the 700's, I absolutely miss M1 all the time 😂 Though I probably only miss black's hanging bishop for, like, 2 or 3 moves before I see it
the easiest thing u can do is just look for M1 anytime your queen is lined up with a bishop like that. like a queen on the same diagonal as a bishop should scream “mate” anytime you see it
You been watchin levy's videos a while?
@@jaywasd Maybe a month or two now at this point. His videos actually got me to pick up chess again for the first time in a long time. Definitely still lots of room for improvement 😆
@@epsilonisevil1988 no worries just keep playing solving puzzles everyday you’ll improve in a month good luck!
Even more amazing in that we rapidly gain the ability to "see" all checks in any position and so cannot miss a mate in one on our turn. I have no idea at what rating this becomes typical, but it's pretty low. Keep it up, you'll get there.
Him “ if you’re just watching this six months into the future “

curious what the time controls were. I'm 650 in blitz and 800 in rapid.
If this is the kind of shit that 700 players do then you should be rated 1000
16:48 this might be the most absurd move I've ever seen.

8:15 I am 80% sure that black plan was if white takes his bishop with the queen he would be able to fork a bishop and tower with horse to b3 and then attack the tower again after it moves to a2 by taking the bishop( but there is a bishop in c4 so idk maybe both of players didint noticed that.)
Yeah, it's a totally reasonable sequence if not for the bishop on c4

I see this in Jan 2023 haha. Thank you!! I play e4 2Bb5.
