- Happy Throwback Thursday!! Welcome to our Kendrick Lamar m.A.A.d. City feat. MC Eiht Reaction!!! This is our latest video reaction from our new music reaction channel Beer’s & Bars. Here we listen, react, and breakdown bars while enjoying some of our favorite beers. Today's we wanted to travel back to the story of Kendrick’s life as a late teen trying to figure things out!! This song paints the perfect picture of how Kendrick tries to navigate to the finer things in life then ends up taking a detour through the negative influences that surround him. The complementary feature from MC Eiht provides a great illustration to how an OG can provide perspective show the upcoming youth the rules of the game. This is cinematography at its finest!! Kendrick is one of the faces in this great Hip Hop culture!!! Kendrick FOREVER!! Make sure to Like, Comment and Subscribe for our reactions like this

The significance of the “wake your punk ass up” is in reference to the first half of the song being his perspective after taking a hit of the laced blunt, and then “waking up” and seeing Compton sober, realizing the fear is still there. His voice gets more anxious too because he’s now awake and seeing the horror
“Wake your punk ass up” is just MC Eiht’s catchphrase lol don’t think it’s that deep. Listen to his music he says it all the time. Listen to “Streight Up Menace”
@@tonnyrico94 I know it’s his catchphrase but it is used to “wake kendrick up” from his high state.
I think you made a good point , mc eiht also said that Kendrick wrote his verse because he had a vision for the track . I don’t think your far off
Schoolboy q sayin ‘yah yah yah yah yah’ is toughhhh
MONEY TREES NEXT
YES
One hundred percent agree!!!
YESSSSSS
ageeed
Yas 👏
kendrick gets laced and almost die:
these guys:LMFAOOO
Hands down my favorite Kendrick song off any album!!! The lyrics and the beat all fire!!! Definitely gotta do money trees next!!!
Added to the list!
This is one of my absolute favorite hip hop tracks of all time it's so fire
favorite track from kendrick of all time
Most underrated song in the album in my opinion is "good kid"
Sing About Me I’m Dying Of Thirst next, one of the best stories of all time
We gotta do this song!
I love the shit outta this beat. Such a great song
So did guy on the left start with Mr Morale? That album is really only truly appreciated when you’ve got the years and years of Kendrick knowledge under your belt. I feel like if I hadn’t consumed all of Kendrick’s past albums I just would have been completely lost, it being pretty much a therapy sesh and all.
I didn’t even realize that 90’s thing on every album lol. Section 80 might even count with Pimp C’s sample and the Aaliyah tribute.
It’s so hard not to bop your head to this song the beat is amazing🔥🔥🔥🔥
Gotta do nosetalgia push’s t and Kendrick
I love seeing y’all check out hip hop. Amazing chemistry and dynamic on this channel.
We appreciate that ✌️🍻
Kendrick is the greatest rapper in terms of the art of rapping imo
You dont need to say "imo" after stating straight facts.
Backseat freestyle by Kendrick a top 3 songs
This is THE Kendrick album. Literally like my junior senior year this was one those albums that was on repeat
Homeboy on the left sound like logic lol
impossible to not have listened to this album. My favorite album of his
so next kendrick gotta be money trees if not done already?
I would say one more JID kendrick thing is that they're both truth tellers. They're not obsessed with being macho in their hoods, they speak truth. Speaking on experience and being macho as fuck has only worked once IMO... Scarface On My Block.... maybe you'll get to it. Great track and one of the best hip hop videos ever made.
You two are getting to the point where you gonna have to do 7 reactions a week to keep up with requests 🤣
LOL we're already there, our spreadsheet has 2,177 individual songs on there
Yessir, gotta show casey GKMC as a whole even though he probably has heard most of the songs
i think you should really do this album in order :D
so hyped for your reactions
Also listen 2 ignorance is bliss.. it’s what got Dr Dre into Kendrick before he was famous but not the video because the music video doesn’t have the full song
NEED MORE GKMC NOWWW 😭
I’m so ready to see the Money Trees reaction! To me it’s a song that will forever be a vibe and the feature is *chef’s kiss*
❤
Mc eiht straight up menace is still fire. First seen man in the 90s
Yes Sir!!!!!!
Feed - Darren Elijah 🔥🔥🔥
also its one of the first things I noticed when watching your channel but the rgb wine glass thing is fire and really makes the setup nice
I’m from the east bay (Northern California) we used to carry multiple shirts/sweaters because of the colors ……shit was fucked up back then man
Anybody else decipher this song to be Kendrick alluding to killing whoever laced him? It’s mentioned in the same song. Then on Mortal Man, on TPAB, he asks fans if we’d still love him if he got convicted/persecuted for this same thing. Yeahhhh Dot 😂 we still fw bro lmao
Love your TBT series
Great reaction as always but gonna be waiting for the Songer reactions - his blackboxes then some from his albums👌🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Fiiiiiinally giving Kendrick some respect haha. I get the "this isn't from the new album" type of comment, but once you get to listen to this guy's discography as a whole, you understand why this kind of rapping and writing isn't on his new album. This guy is literally telling us his life through his albums and his evolution. Kendrick is still one of the GOATs, he just isn't in his 20s anymore and since his life isn't what it was back then, his songs can't be what they were back then either. People change, people evolve, and if you're being real with your lyrics, your music should reflect that at some point. Cheers, guys, great reaction!
(Court) bro we’ll said! And I love the fact that you see Kendrick is not gonna be the same artist with the same sound and song each time. He is the true definition of someone who has truly evolved in this game and you can hear it throughout his discography! Great minds think alike! Cheers Fam!
Backseat freestyle next
Poe man’s dream is good song for homeboy
Kendrick was better before damn period. Especially before he started calling himself Kung fu Kenny
The whole song was dray baby ;)

A real good song is J.Cole/Kendrick Lamar-Black Friday freestyle
We need those Wuntayk Timmy reactions!!
Oh boy oh boy
Would be really interested in a worldwide steppers reaction, that’s such an elite yet different song
I saw Kendrick perform in Birmingham, UK. And thought the way he performed it just changed the whole perception of that song for me.
Do to pimp a Butterfly Album reaction 🔥🔥 Just became the #1 Rated Album of All time few weeks ago
(Court) Casey you see that? 😂 I don’t even have to say it anymore it’s out for the public to see! We gotta dig into to some joints
The blacker the berry NEXT 🔥🔥🔥
We did blacker the Berry. Peep the Kendrick playlist we have!
1:58 ☠️☠️☠️😭✋️
Listen to Man Of the year by Juice Wrld
Can you explain that why you thought of Eminem during Kendrick's last verse?
(Court) I thought of him bc of the different voice pitches he used, the cadence and the way he bent his words
(Court) all the greats pull little pieces from the greats before them in some ways and make it better! I feel that is the ultimate homage.
@@BeersBars ok
Court and/or case what is the car on the album cover btw (or comments) ?!
(Court) The van was KDots Mom’s old ride and it was mentioned through that album
Kendrick Lamar-HiiPower gotta be next along with “Keisha’s song” and “U”(powerful deep song)
Those are all gems!
This is the best rap album next to snoops doggy style an Dre made that album
Cut the music way too fast...
