Calvin when you gonna do a giveaway car again bro
The e 350 diesel coupe c207 blueefficency is well worth a review, they are a great car to drive and great looking đ
Think it's a bit of a gamble but of it last 3-4 years with not too much going wrong then it's a win. Age seems to kill well maintained cars more than mileage.
Calvin's Car Diary pay the RO TAX lol
I had one with 210k on it 2 years ago lol
I have 420k km on my w211 2.2 and still runs like new! Mileage is nothing if you maintain it properly.
Great video btw đ
I have 700k km w212
How often do u oil change and did u do engine flush ?
Iâm thinking about buying a Mercedes because itâs 7000 dollars here. Wondering if I can make it last
Mileage is nothing if you maintain it properly and, what is even more important, if you drive it properly.
560k on my w211. Great ride

High mileage never is a big turnoff for me when looking to buy a car. Cars are like aircraft or basically any machinery in this case. The most stuff breaks when they sit around unused. If maintenance was always done correctly everything should be all right.
Idk about that if they are low mileage you can visibly see less wear and paint damage usually
I bought the same car with only 36,000 miles on a luxury Grill
@Ashley Cook Just make sure it is serviced and a good car like a Toyota and that's not an issue. High mileage cars are often used for short journeys AND long journeys which is even worse. The idea that low mileage is ever worse is basically false unless you can prove the miles were virtually 100% motorway on the high mileage vehicle which it almost never is.
Love the head in hands pose on a thumbnail donât ya đ€ŠđŒââïž
Ive always bought high mileage motors, so long as they have history, bargains.
Great channel Calvin
Nothing wrong with a high miles Merc Calvin ⊠good maintenance history is a must thou
itsam9ting not really that high, Iâve had a 225k mile 520d e60
Regular oil changes, decent fuel and gearbox oil change every 70k....should have very few issues.
Mr Blobby!!!!! Iâve had 3. Had minimal issues over 350,000 miles.
Mr Blobby!!!!! Iâve had 3 over 12 years and cover approx. 30k a year. Great on fuel, smooth on the motorway. Look after it and it will look after you.
Mr Blobby!!!!! No major repairs at all. There was air an air/exhaust sensor on one that caused lumpy running, that was sorted for ÂŁ120.
Other than that itâs been pads and discs and standard servicing.
Ohh....a couple of ball joints but that has been it.
Who else can hear Scott killmer ringing his bell shouting endless money pit?? Just me??
its not only scotty ...many others winging about jerry cars. Of course they are class leading in almost every segment so jealousy must shout loud.
@@mickadatwist1620 - Not owned a German car yet? They are money pits. I prefer Japanese.
I think he never tried CDI's engines
Scotty Kilmer is right in the main, but Mercs are much better supported here, in Europe, as well as diesel. In the US, high mileage Beemers, in particular are probably an issue, as they are often built poorly IN the states. Having said that Iâll always go with Honda. However, Iâm tempted with ahigh miles e class

High mileage.... .? Itâs barely run in man đđđ©đȘ
Merc500 das sind Meilen keine km
Completely agree
Saw one on ebay 260,000 miles was like wow and same engine
My s350 is on 250,000 used 7 days a week for chauffeuring .. drop the oil and change filters every 5-6 weeks only ever use high grade fuel not super market crap .. car runs perfectly đđœđ©đȘ
5-6 weeks is daft just a waste ive seen Mercedes vans with over a million miles theyâll all of had normal fuel that supermarket fuel saying is aload of bollocks
Found one with 600000km or 375000miles and still running
I've been spending 2 days looking at youtube for car-reviews of mercedes'es, because I'm thinking of buying a used one. But all they ever talk about is the interior, if they are sporty and useless shit. This is one of the best videos I've found. Nice job mate. Excatly what I was looking for. I don't want to know how then infortainment system work, or how much legroom is in the back. I want to know if it's a piece of junk after 100k mils or not. Thank you for making this video. Thank you!

Yeah... I have an older gen E220, it feels like a boat with the diesel, but they're by FAR the most reliable engines.
U idiot

Genuinely thought you actually meant high mileage, thatâs barely even ran I. Iâve seen newer, 65 plates with 300k on them đ€Ł
I actually love this type of vids honestlyđđ
The 220 doesnât always mean 2.2 litre diesel btw, just like the c250 isnât a 2.5 litre itâs a 2.1 đ€·ââïž
Subic NND yes same engine just more power and torque
Not sure about the 220 but the 250 is biturbo
or a E320 IS NOT A 3.2 ITS A 3.0
Your right The e400 isnât a 4.0L its a 3.0 straight six for example
And mercedes used to have spot on sizes for the models. Like my E230 is a 2.3L. It's summed up to 2.3L because its the closest. same with the 220
This was (still is to some extent) a very popular taxi model in Finland. And these things do huge amounts of mileage without braking a sweat. Just now one guy broke the 1 million km mark in his 2016 E 300 bluetec (with the V6 tho). Original everything pretty much. Only a new alternator every now and then, and of course some suspension&brake parts. Also a lot of 4-cyl w212 facelifts with more than 500k km, no problem.
Excellent video as usual Calvin. 180,000 miles for a merc is just run in. 1000s used as taxis around the world must be proof that these are good cars. High mileage merc = great value for money. Cheers, Jon.
My dad's E220 has 304k km driven rn, amazing car!
A few years back I flew to Germany and was collected at the airport by a brand new E220 diesel taxi. Three days later I returned to the airport in another E220 diesel taxi. The difference was the second one had done over 600k km. if you had a blindfold on there was no way to tell the difference between the two.
My E350 is currently on 296,000 miles and has only let me down once since I bought it with 98,000 on it, best car I have ever owned! I too use wipes in cars đ
180k is nothing on a dsl merc ive had one with twice that on it.
old mercs can handle the distance... newer ones not so much
I have a e280 with 300k on i`t would would not think it drives as good as half the miles

My mates a Mercedes specialist, and he claims the high miles are the Best Buy, as lower mile cars, which have being left lying around for long periods suffer more issues.
As soon as I see the title âhigh mileageâ and a Mercedes E220 cdi I automatically think Taxi

I just love the feeling the car, 265Bhp and 620Nm
Cheers from Denmark.
I got 300k miles 2013 e220 no issues with at all throughout ownership regular servicing that's all
High mileage Mercs and Volvos are usually a safe bet from my experience. It really does depend how vigilantly they've been maintained though đ
Samuel Holden ive owned both. They drive safe as a tank
Maintanance is important.
My 2002 w211 E220 cdi has now 274.000 kilometers on it, yes things mechanicly are bit worn, but all in all it still drives really nice and like new, but then again if you find a high milage one with good history then its a buy for sure.
Never NEVER buy merc's that do not have maintenance history documents.

A car with high mileage isn't necessarily a turn-off, but on the other hand you have to take into account that, when going over 250.000 km, serious problems can appear, even if the car was looked after. I'm talking injectors, turbos, piston rings, flywheel, clutch and gearbox, all potentially very expensive.
I love how every vlog on CZcams that dealers are doing vlogs all say they have had no trouble with their cars. They must be the luckiest people alive .
183k isnât even that much for a e class of that year, was expecting easy 200k plus
General Shark it is for a car of its age
Birmingham racing not really
Itâs extremely high when I just sold a 1997 Toyota starlet on 34k miles đ
General Shark this is a 6 year old car with 180k which means 30k a year so your telling me that's not high miles?
Birmingham racing for that type of car, nope
180k miles is *not high mileage.* These *E Class* Mercs are used in Germany as taxis and regularly clock 1 million KM.
I bought one this weekend. 350000 miles / 560000 km. Beautiful.

Ah, the old Stuttgart Taxi; truly engineered like no other car in the world. Had a 2007 model some years back, bought it at 2.5 years old from a main dealer for less than a similar age C Class and you get so much more class and refinement. Bullet-proof reliability, cheap to service for its size (especially at a specialist rather than a main dealer) and nearly 50mpg on a long motorway run. Clearly more of a "limo" than a sports car and as you mention, it quietly encourages sensible driving. Not quite as refined as an S Class but far better value pound for pound.
Great to see such an underappreciated automotive classic getting some air time. Thank you!
Old mans got an E220 2012 with 420k on the clock, still going strong!
Had a 2006 E280 cdi bought for ÂŁ3000, had 225,000 mile.had it 5 years. Sold it at 240,000 for ÂŁ2000, never had any bother bother with it. Great car, miss it.
Completely agree high mileage is never an off putting thing. I See it as if it's been looked after I would rather 250k plus compared to a non serviced at 30k...
Hello, I have the same year model 2013 car, bought it in march this year in Enfield BCA , paid ÂŁ6600 with 155000 mile on the clock, beautiful car, fantastic to drive, went all way to Istanbul and back again without a problem, this car can do half a million mile, Cheers
I have a 2014 model, can't understand what you are saying, my car has plenty of poke the milage on your car must have lost a few horses. You are wrong the car is fast.
My Audi a3 2.0 tdi 170 Quattro has done 290000 mile and still pulls like a train

High mileage and looked after is way better than low milage and abused. I bought a E46 330ci with low milage. It needs a lot of tlc to bring it back. Previous owner bought it for ÂŁ9k with 29000 miles on the clock a couple of years ago. A year later I paid 3 for it with only a few miles more, and I drove most of those. it's an awesome car, but needs a hell of a lot of work because it's spent several years in a barn. It's a project and I knew it would have it's Gremlins.

Dam that e-class looks comfortable đ
My daily driver is an E250 2012 convertible which o bought 3 years ago with 60,000 miles. Today it has 177000. Service correctly they go on for ever. I should change it but there is nothing wrong with it. The only annoying things is the pot holes for which I go through 2 sets of tyres a year plus have to have the wheels refurb every 18 months. But great car though, was thinking of a BMW but nothing comes close for comfort and enjoyment
*01:08* So many people asked you to make a video on a 2.0 Diesel Merc đđ
2.1D but yeah i dont know why. but its a nice daily tho
Had few high mileage cars with 100k plus at the time only way i could get into the car i wanted.Definitely do it again if the money is right
i have just purchased a 2014 e class on 70k , i was worried the millage would be high soon but after reading the comments the e class seems like a good choice.
Did it sell Calvin? What did it go for if you donât mind me asking. Iâm a bit worried when my BMW F10 has run itâs pcp itâll be nearly worthless at 120k miles and itâll be 10 years old too.
I've had a quite a few highmilers, the worst being an audi A5, had nothing but trouble with it and the best was my little civic 2.2 diesel!
Im using my 14th car and as a rule of thumb as exactly the 120-130k miles is where is advisable to look around for a used car
How long do your used cars last? Are you being sarcastic?
seen an A6 s line fully loaded 160k mileage fsh, leather seats, heated and its auto. 4.8k bargain. all history as well. its cat n cause of a bumper scrape. i went and looked at it its not a lot of damage you could probably buff it out. unfortunately i was not able to convince my mum. my dad really liked it but my mum is strictly against german cars she thinks audis are expensive when they use VW parts mostly lmao

Now I am in love with its comfort so I can't sell it anymore. Only reason I will now sell it will be an upgrade to newer shape 2017 onwards
There's nothing wrong with high mileage cars as long as they've been looked after. ..its like you said if it makes money sense and is value then why not. At the end of the day people know what they are buying and if there wasn't a market for these types of cars then there would be yards full of them wasting away. So another great buy as well as a great video
how u know its lookeda after
Great review. I own a Night Edition E220 and its a great car. Not fast by all means but gets the job done and reasonable on fuel. ILS headlights are a must though. Once you have them you never look back lol
Baby milage, I do not understand why in the UK all cars end their lives with a mileage of 100k
This is such a sick video - so much better to see a standard car that the average person would buy
Any modern day vehicle, with full service history, looked after will see 200k miles without anything major going wrong..yes they might have a clutch and most of the wear and tear parts replaced but as Calvin says..they are a bargain.
That's nothing for well serviced modern car. My 63 plate Mercedes sprinter had 420k on and is still going strong.
And the reversing lights still turn on when kicking in 2nd gear...
(Typical Sprinter feature: every time you put in 2nd gear, reversing lights turn on for a bit)

Before 2 weeks I saw 2015 E200cdi with 763000km which is ~ 473000 miles so this one is low mileage đ
Service service service, and your car will keep going for many miles, normal wear and tear, and your driving style, ie harsh braking, will always have an effect, but pay for a proper service, oils filters etc, and clean the things, look after it and it will last for a couple of hundred thousand miles easy.
It will do 3 times that very easily my mate, in germany they are used as a taxis and quite often they go over 1 mln kilometres

Alright, Cal, I;d like to hear you speak (sometimes), from the custermers Point of veiw, and less About the Dealers! The dealer don;t really care, what a high mileage car, is like to live with, because, he wont be Living with it.
I brought a 2011 c class coupe C180 120,000 miles and the timing chain had to be repaired shortly after that ,costing under ÂŁ4000 ( faults in certain engines with timing chains)Itâs been serviced with mercedez 13 times in 8 years I love the car it just feels like new , even mercedez said itâs like a new car. Iâm looking to keep it for many miles and years to come. And yes I love a high mileage car but it has to have good service history.oh and only 1 previous owner.
What kind of mpg should these deliver on local only? I got one from main dealer last August and am averaging 25mpg local. Doesn't seem right for a 2015 e220 with 35k on clock.
This isn't high mileage đ I purchased it with 201k miles now almost 30k later just all its cost me is fuel and new set of tyres.

My Prius is a 2009 has done 229000, still drives like a dream. If you service the car on time and look after it, then mileage is just a number.
I had a 2015 one of these and it was such a dull car to drive, so glad to get rid of it
Enjoy the repairs đđđđ
On a serious note, the only thing that would make me reluctant would be the auto gear box.. if it's not replaced, it could go.. then you are looking at 3000 minimum in repair or replacement
Also you didnât mention what kind of repairs the car had.. Time chain? DPF? Becks? Pump? Those are going to need replacement after 150k-200k miles
AKTINODIAGNOSI BACKUP - yes, our family used to have a 2000-model E240 Elegance W211 and the automatic gearbox went at 100,000 miles when it was 15 years old. Mostly driven in London traffic. ÂŁ1,500 was cheapest estimate for repair, which was more than the worth of the car.
@@LHRSBN All about how the gearbox is maintained. A gearbox without oil changes will fail eventually.
Luca J - yes indeed, very important. Our independent mechanic assured us that they had regularly changed the automatic gearbox fluid and filter - but maybe they hadnât? Mercedes stopped letting us use a dipstick to check the auto trans fluid on those models ourselves.
Luca J yes changing the oil is crucial for the longevity of the auto box, but even so every auto gearbox has a certain life span.. it will fail at some point depending on the style of driving.. with mainly city driving 150.000 miles could be the limit. It can be fixed/repaired but usually it will cost a lot

Calvin I love your videos, this is the type of video I would love to see more, because of your onit mind set ive bought my first car to sell on itâs an e90 320i with 138k miles, what I do love to know more about is how your source your cars for a bargain price is it auction? Iâm talking other than people finding you to sell your car as a beginner like me wonât have that option as a source of cars. Also do you buy cars off people at higher/ more competitive price than say for example we buy any cars? I think I wonât profit at all on this car as all in with travels and collection etc the car cost me ÂŁ1700 and I donât think I canât sell it for much more than that. I would appreciate some advice. I know itâs a sensitive subject and you might not like sharing it but for example this e220 is worth 7k how much roughly did you pay for it as a rough guide? Thanks Andy
AFAIR the design of electrical components are only tested to 1000hours. If they are continuously "on" they will more likely start to fail as you are on the other end of the bath-tub curve. The problem is there are now so many of them in high tech cars it can be a nightmare when they fail.
Oil change every 10k and change all filter.... no issues
This car have the M651 motor?
They're as reliable as a Toyota Prius these things. Both capable of 500,000+ miles when looked after.
