I feel like you are my friends and that I get to have wonderful gospel discussion with you and it's funny how I think something and then you answer it and go to a scripture that leads me to my answer. Thank you. thank you. You are my church and anchor for a minute while I figure all of the out!!!

Both I and my sister have agreed how amazing the Book of Mormon is and what a gift it is for our times. As we've been experiencing problems in our country that coincides amazingly with the study of the Book of Mormon-the problems their culture was experiencing. Such a specific guide it is to help us in our daily struggles. What a wonderful gift the Book of Mormon it is to help us through these similar scenes. We are truly loved by our God!

Thank you a million times over for sharing your love of Him this way with all of us and helping my love for the Book of Mormon and for Jesus to grow. 💓 and by the way, some of the negative comments on here I feel sad about that people feel the need to pick at you both or be critical. Please don't take them to heart! I find you both completely endearing. Please keep being exactly who you are and doing you 🥰

I have been trying to work out “the wrath of God” and trying to reconcile it with a God of love for awhile now. Today your explanation of the Law punishing and not God was such an “aha” moment for me. It gave me a place to start from. I can’t wait until the Old Testament - there’s so much drama and it seems like the wrath of God is so much more present... Ya’ll are inspiring!

You know, I was blessed to teach adult class for 4 years and it was wonderful for me because I did a lot of research :) The New Testament has always been my favourite book(s) of scripture, but I was amazed with the Old Testament! All I got from it was love..... Also, you can check out how often the heart is mentioned :)

I noticed something as I was studying Alma 63:1-2. I suddenly realized who "his brother" was! It made me so happy to realize that Corianton had turned himself around, repented, and become known as a just man, who did good continually and kept the commandments of God! That is so great!! Thank you for your broadcasts! I love them!

Thank you so much, David and Emily, for doing these videos! I especially loved this week's lesson (Alma 39-42). I watched it over again a couple of times and took so many notes because I wanted to remember your beautiful insights about redemption, restoration, reclaiming, mercy and rescue. Thankfully I recently bought a Journal edition of the Book of Mormon so I can have room to write on the sides, top and bottom of the pages so I can read my notes right there, rather than having to find them in a notebook somewhere. Thank you for pointing out that The Plan of Happiness, Redemption, etc. is really JESUS. HE IS THE PLAN! and that once we turn our hearts to Him, everything else will fall into place! I just love all your insights and personal experiences. The scriptures have come alive to me more than ever since listening to you.

As you talk about Alma "wondering", I will always remember the Face to Face with Elder Holland and President Eyring in August 2017 when Elder Holland discussed Moroni 8:26 and he talked about how "he had wondered about that for 30 years"--and he explains how "we've just been swept right into the Celestial Kingdom here on the strength of the Atonement of Christ because it made us meek, it made us lowly, it made us grateful, it made us know somebody helped us, and that brings the Holy Ghost." (Those notes are in my scriptures and I am so grateful for his explanation.) I don't know why I was so amazed that he actually thought about that for 30 years. It made me feel I should think more deeply about things.

Well I think that Corianton wanted to know about the Resurrection because of the Zoramites belief. Corianton was listening to the Zoramites and he was confused about that. That’s what I thought... because all his concerns were related to Zoramites culture.

Maybe the parenting style of Alma the younger was that he was reminding his son about the love and example of his brothers who he may have looked up to. Maybe that approach was what was needed for that child. I think he lovingly asks him, “did you not see their examples?” I have 2 older sons and one younger one and we have often asked our youngest what he has seen in their lives. Good and bad. What can you see and change in your life? Is a great question. In this case it sounds like they were companions. Did your companion lead you that way? Whether it was brother or not. He was making sure that his actions were his and not to be blamed someone else...which is pretty common in these situations.

I know you both didn’t care for the way Alma began his advice to Corianton, but I think you skipped over a big piece of why he fell into sin. The first thing Alma taught him was that he was boasting in his own strength and wisdom. Pride was foremost in Alma’s mind and might have been the reason Corianton didn’t heed his fathers words.

I was very disappointed when you criticized Alma for his parenting technique. It seems to me that his approach was very much in harmony with counsel given in D&C 121. Alma certainly reproved with sharpness when moved upon by the spirit. He was not afraid to address the seriousness of Corianton's mistakes. But afterward, Alma certainly showed an increased measure of love as he taught Corianton and sent him back out to teach the gospel.
