For some reason, I hear Obis voice as a hard boiled police officer that has been on the force for 30 years and you are the optimistic, energetic new rookie that he has to put up with before he retires next month. But then you two uncover a plot to be criminally bad. So now you two go out on wacky adventures and save the day. You two break the rules, but dang it you get results! Thats the only reason I don't have both of your badges right now! And now I just imagined an adorable image of Oberon behind the wheels of an obviously fake car for a high speed chase. Daw! My brain may need to shut up, but that was cute.

Oh my goodness he's so cute!!! I hope he loves exploring his new enclosure. Are African Fat Tail Lizards pretty similar to Leopard Geckos? What are the main differences?
African fat tails require higher humidity, slightly less heat, and are generally less active in my experience. Because they’re less active, some people think they’re even friendlier than leopard geckos. They’re very docile, placid geckos and they’re super cute!

Hello there Jessica! You seem really knowledgable so i hope you don’t mind if I ask you a question. My male ~2 year old leopard gecko has stopped eating/is barely eating suddenly. I’ll try to give you all details about my care since i am at a loss.
He lives in a 20 gal terrarium, tile substate, with two main hides and a whole bunch of stuff for enrichment (other nooks and crannies, rocks, fake plants, a reptile hammock, wood) The humidity in his cage is 30-40 always. I use a uth set to ~93 degrees. The cool side is high-mid 70s, low 80s. I do use a overhead uva bulb(i do not believe it gives off ubv?) on a 12 hour cycle. He is extremely active at night.
I feed him gutloaded (rainbow mealworms cricket feed, romaine lettuce, potato, carrot, etc) banded crickets, superworms, mealworms, and whatever else i may pick up if i run a circuit to my local exotic pet store. I dust with Rephasy Calcium Plus every feeding (he eats every three days) He always has purified water (repti-safe) available to him.
Something i’ve noticed is that the breeding season just ended for these guys. He seemed really amped up, chirping at me and everything. Is it possible he went off feed because he is an extremely hormonal gecko?

it is normal for gekcos to go off-feeding period especially during mating season. check their weight everyday and if there is no weight loss , your gecko is just as fine.

ditch the side UTH, it is only waisting energy. Give him overhead heat and uvb instead. They love it and they bask a lot

You could make your own ABG mix.
How do you ensure they eat the crickets in a bioactive setup? They crawl straight up the background and hide as soon as I put them in 😖😩
Yup that’s the issue. You’ll have to switch to a new feeder or try tong feeding

Nice tank! What type of driftwood is that? Ghost wood? Does it mold at all with the humidity?
What temps and humidity do you keep your African Fat Tail Geckos at day and night? Out of curiosity I'm getting my African Fat Tail Gecko in March and I'm getting a custom All American Cages enclosure that's 24 " L ×12"W ×18" H 4 inch substrate dam and a cutout on the left side incase I need to add an additional heat source and a mini keyed cam lock I'm getting the heat pad they sell as well I noticed you mentioned you put the heat pad on the side instead of the bottom would you recommend I do the same I plan on using a safe loose substrate and events go Bioactive the heat mat that the All American cages is a 20 Watt Heat mat and it's 11"×16" so I'm not exactly sure where to put it I'll be getting around February 11th and just wanted your opinion thanks
