That’s NOT what this product is for.
Removing TOP COAT requires cutting the paint with polish, that’s what removes it, then you use eraser to remove any oil residues from the paint correction, then you apply ceramic or anything else you want.
Again a PREP SOLUTION does NOT remove a coating, it requires physical cutting through the coating

I understand the torture test concept, though I think it's difficult to understand how IPAs and paint preps work when: a) no polishing was involved, and/or b) *old* waxes/sealants weren't involved. It's only a thought, and I totally appreciate all the content I have seen thus far. I always love seeing different perspectives on auto detailing.

These prep solutions are made to remove the leftover polishing oils(from paint correction) and to make the surface squeaky clean prior to applying a coating or other forms of protection. Some form of polishing is required to prep the surface, especially for a coating. Then to ensure there isn't anything left behind from the polishing process these products are used.

Hence the name "oil and polish remover" so why are we surprised when they don't do what they don't even claim to do? It's not concerning at all and doesn't leave any room to compromise a coating. If you aren't properly prepping and polishing a car beforehand which will remove the sealant through abrasion you probably shouldn't be coating the car in the first place.

Before this you would normally do a chemical decontamination and clay bar and most likely a paint cleanse. Which will normally remove most waxes and sealants. Eraser is just a final step to remove any polish and oil residue so the sealant / wax has a better surface to adhere to.

I understand the premise of the video but one thing to remember is eraser is meant for the last stage prep before a coating. This is after wash, decon, clay bar, polishing. This isn’t really a product made to remove sealers or anything with ceramic.

I don't think the product is design to use it this way, is meant to remove left over oil from polishing compound that's usually use after decontamination with iron remover and clay bar. As a matter of fact, after clay bar, I usually find any wax or sealant are pretty much gone.

What a beautiful family ❤️ bro. Your a lucky guy. jim I've been in the business a long time and I'm telling you this seal and shine is beyond anything we've ever seen in a retail bottle. The only way to truly get that off if it's fresh is krud cutter tsp substitute after polishing it off. I've removed ceramic Coatings a lot easier than seal & shine. which leads me to another question that I think you should make a video about why is seal & shine not the gold standard for detailers? I think after watching these reviews and working with the product I'm letting my customers down if I don't use that on their vehicle. There's litterly nothing better unless you compare it to a coating??

I like how everyone is in search of the most chemical-resistant coatings and sealants, but they're "shocked" when mild solvents don't remove those same coatings and sealants instantly.
If you want to remove old protection, use a polish. If you want to remove the oils leftover from your polishing step to help your coating adhere, use Eraser. If you want to waste money, spray Eraser on a panel in hopes it will remove your old coating.

I think a DA is the only way to remove a fresh product. I use IPA diluted 3:7 after the DA to remove any polishing oils. For old wax/sealant removal I use Angelwax Perfect Polish with a DA. I do start with a stripwash but am not convinced how effective it is.

Dude, Carpro Eraser is for removing polishing oils. I use it when i polish or paint correct my car. It removes the oil and film and works great. It is NOT designed for removing a wax sealant. Therefore, it will fail your test. If you want to remove the wax sealant, you use a strip wash for that.

I would like to see duplicolor grease and wax remover vs rustoleum similar product on the turtle wax seal and shine. to me I would see what paint manufactures recommends. I wouldn't call either product a bad solution, but maybe use this demonstration on why using a degreaser first and then use the eraser to remove the degreasers residue. to be honest Jimbo, breakdown your panel into 4 sections use 2 sections for the seal and shine as you compare products and the other 2 for whatever random wax you use.

Great video showcasing the differences. Any person applying a coating should be claying the paint first which is mechanically decontaminating the paint; and then of course anyone in their right mind would then proceed by polishing anyway to perfect the finish and and then chemically using a product like eraser to really only remove polishing oils not old products. A coating is not the same as a sealant and the general public should educate themselves before slapping something on their finish, if not only not to waste time and money.

  • @mcgman8058

how is this video not completely downvoted ? this product was never intended nor marketed to remove polymer sealants. This is for professionals doing paint correction and cleaning up before applying a coating. or checking the finish after correcting. This is why these coating companies selling directly to people on the street was such a risky proposition. Its why you will never see them on big box store shelves.
