I played through Illbleed for the first time last year. It's such a unique, weird, and fun experience that it absolutely should be played
A list of the worst ever horror games would consist entirely of shitty FNAF and Slender rip-offs on Steam, so this will have to do.
This needs a part 2! Here are some dishonorable mentions:
Alone in the Dark: Inferno & Alone in the Dark: Illumination
Blade II
Countdown Vampires
Daemon Summoner
Dino Crisis 3
Escape Dead Island
Friday the 13th (NES)
McFarlane's Evil Prophecy
Silent Hill: Downpour & Silent Hill: Book of Memories
Spawn: The Eternal
blade ii dino crisis 3 evil prophecy book of memories and spawn eternal are all good
dare i say theyre all better than everything on this videos list
I liked SH Downpour better than Homecoming, although really they were both pants.
@@writingratty i like downpour more than homecoming too and yes it is not scary
It's pretty satisfying to watch TripleJump's growth as a channel. Also, Ash is a pretty great narrator
I like this list because they put in the extra effort to find games that haven't been talked about half to death, like yes we ALL know Amy was shit 😂😂😂😂
Illbleed is weird and campy and I love it, and definitely plays to the strengths of people who go to haunted houses and try to guess where the scares are going to come from.
Which is it's greatest flaw, even more than wonky controls and iffy cameras. If you're doing well at the game, you don't get to see most of the cool scares and ghost animations. It's still fun to go through and a really unique game, but one of the only games I found a let's play video with all the fail animations to be more satisfying than actually playing it!
Illbleed is a friggin masterpiece, one of the most unique games of all time. Several of the games on this list are not bad at all. Just close your eyes and type in a random word in Steam and you will find 100 worse horror games.
I remember as a child I played PHANTASMAGORIA and it was a scary game for me, now I'm older and it scares me on the switch Once Upon A time on Halloween :)
Chiller on NES is the only light gun game on the system that let you play 2 light guns at once though,.. so it has that :P
Geist wasn't the worst thing, but definitely needed more polish with its possession mechanic and letting you come up with ways to spook people. Really deserves a second shot, either with a sequel, or even a remake that could write the shortcomings of the original.
Yeah, it's still worth playing if someone's looking for a game that's a little different. There's still a lot of good parts, even the whole feels a bit lacking.
Ironically, the description of D made me wanna check it out and see if it was worth trying. To my surprise it’s cheap on steam with very positive reviews, and the first negative review I saw was a super fan of the game who wasn’t a fan of that version and bought it because they “own a copy for every platform, including a sealed physical copy for PC and imports.”
Looks like it’s definitely not for everyone, but I never thought one of these “bad” lists would have made me actually want to check a game out lol.
As a total wimp, I'm not really into horror games. I've not heard of any of these games. This is probably a good thing looking at this video!
A game that should be on here is Evil Dead: Hail to the King. A Dreamcast game that clearly wanted to be Resident Evil but didn't stick to the formula enough to be good.
I'm glad to see you guys almost to a quarter of a million subs
Been rooting for you all since Ben walked away from WC
Geist sounds like a game I remember from the Sega Genesis. The premise was the exact same, except you would possess things and then when the person in the house went near it, you would do something spoopy and scare them.
you mean Haunting Starring Polterguy? That was a pretty interesting game
min 7,47, Soviet arcades, all analog... my childhood.
AGONY, even the bonus where you place as a Succubus still has major issues. And the Succubus Mode is far better than the regular mode of play. And still it’s not worth while. Thankfully I paid only $1 for the game. Yet when I think about again I want the dollar back.
We have an arcade round where I live that has a Chiller cabinet! Hadn't heard of it before the first time I saw it there, so it was VERY unsettling the first time I played it! Sounds like the kind of game that would just be an urban legend, but nope!
The voice of Hers is smoothing
Somewhere, Uncle Derek from SSFF is weeping openly from the inclusion of the first two entries
Did you play Illbleed? Serious question!!
1:51 I see what you did there
D isnt Bad it just aged bad
Played the GoG Release of D some time ago. If only for the only reason to play it for myself. I mean, the most interesting about the game is the story behind its creation, I guess. Other than that, it's filled with a lot of filler, so you'd waste time on a first playthrough.
Illbleed on the other hand is a game I'd love to play myself.Heard of it some years ago, some people bashing it while other thought it was a gem in the rough. Now, I can't say anything about the gameplay or technical aspects, but I certainly liked what I saw in Longplays. That weird, fourth wall breaking horror ganme, set in a killer amusement park. Not only were you in each attraction, but you'd even run into employees fixing or operating stuff. Hell, two bosses are killed by breaking into the control room while another boss is currently under maintenance while the workers ask you to leave.
Sadly, there's probably never coming a remake.
I dated a girl who said Agony looked and played better than Hollow Knight... needless to say that relationship didn't work out.
Dodged a bullet, sir.
are you sure she just wasn't into torture porn
I played D and Illbleed this year after not having played them at release and I loved both of them lol Theyre cheesy and weird but great!
This!
Illbleed is supposed to be both a love letter to old horror, and taking the piss of old horror.
This shows perfectly in the 2nd level where we have 2 hilarious bad ghosts talking to one another.
“So triple jump, why don’t you like our new game?”
Triple Jump: “Uhh… Metacritic”
Geist is legitimately one of my favorite GameCube games, in spite of its obvious flaws. We NEED a remaster, and the multiplayer was incredibly unique, even to this day. Midnight Ghost Hunt feels most like the game's Hunt mode, but we still don't have a team deathmatch where you start as a ghost and find a host with a weapon you want.
Also pretty sure it was meant to be horror themed, not quite a "horror" game. Story was neat
Mr. Pickles a Scarily Bad Contender Who'll Assault your eyes
Excellent video!
D was 2 hours long and was contained on 4 discs…that’s 30 minutes per disc!
Am the only person who didn't hate Resident Evil: Survivor?
Lifeline sounds like Hey You Pikachu! which came out before it so not so ground breaking
Omg D!! I used to play this SOOOO much as a kid. It terrified me lol
Escape from Bug Island
Agony was a huge disappointment for me.
Luckily, I didn't have to purchase it to find that out for myself.
Scorn is another one that will inevitably end up on a list like this as well, though, for what it's worth, it is significantly better than Agony.
I'm so spooked! These spooky spookies spooked me with all of their spook'ems!
It's sad how this new Android game that just came out named Unheard Cries is better than these
What the heck you're talking about? I had a blast playing Nosferatu!!
Lifeline is actually pretty good though, Vaccine should've been on the list instead, a terrible "throwback" to the early Resident Evil games with horrible controls and clunky gameplay that's hideous to look at.
This "Switch Exklusive" Game Hollow i bought on an Helloween Sale for 2€ on the Xbox.
The beginning was fun but after 1 Houre of progress i dont know what tobdo and the gane explain nothing.
Thats where i stop playing.
How about the Horror Outbreak Series?
There not good and not bad.
Grabbing my torch & pitchfork for illbleed lol
While it has some cool stuff, you could have added, Clive Barker's: Jericho, to the list.
Idk, most of these games are pretty good, or at least not *that* bad
Not really, I still have some of these games. I just love bad and good horror games in general.
1 terrible horror lists that are scarily bad right here on this video
yo where’s Jericho at???
I love Geist! Blasphemy 😤
You guys faceplanted right off the bat. D is a bit convoluted for modern tastes, but it is a stone cold classic and certainly worth a playthrough today. It's still quite unsettling, which is the basic criteria for an effective horror title (unlike most of this list). So maybe you actually just hate Myst-esque point and click puzzlers? Generation gap? Idk.
Spooooky time!
Agony really was absolute shit
Aww, I was hoping this list ws going to be horror games that are technically bad games, but still manage to be genuinely scary despite their other flaws. Instead it's just another shit game list. And even by that mark, you didn't even really pick on the actual worst games- where was Amy for crying out loud?
Ayo where’s security breach
Well... I enjoyed Nosferatu on Snes. I played it because I enjoyed the challenge... This is Snes game so why compare it with a ps1 game?
tungulus
You know what I love about your review--they relaxing to watch--for me.
C-mon, Illbleed is an amazing game and in many ways was made to both honor and take the piss out of Horror Movies and titles.
They prove it's a parody by the 2nd level, and most of all in the 6th and final level.
I honestly love the game, but hate the "True" ending.
I like Nosferatu :(
I like some bad things too, e.g. Two Worlds.
A few of these are generally products of their time, receiving the same criticisms that alot other games also had. Now when it comes to Hollow, instead of 80's video camera covered in Vaseline you could have just said PS3 👍
For a minute I didn’t think RE Survivor was gonna make the list 😅
5:57 why lie, ash?
Why is Ashton from "Chipplejump" always on Triple Jump? 🤔
Geist isn't that bad, Blood Drive should've been on the list instead, one of the worst racing games ever made.
WTF??? Geist was great
Nosferatu is actually a pretty good game, don't know what u guys talking about
Half these games are neither bad, nor worse than most. They're good horror games with some superficial flaws. Illbleed, D, and Geist for instance.
Scorn should've been on the list. Game is ass.
Uh.. hello?
👽
Project Zero 3 should be on this list. Even 12 y/o me was like "this ain't scary at all!" so that's why I sold it. I didn't sell it bcos I was scared. Not even scary... and the reason I won't play it again, isn't because I'm scared or because of any of the crawl space stuff that totally didn't effect me in any way, because it wasn't scary at all, it's because I'm just too much of an Alpha male.
Nosferatu isn't a bad game...like at all. Have you guys at TripleJump even played it?
@@stonecodfish2365 I really don't think they play too many of these games mate.
All of these games are more fun, have more gameplay and thus present a challenge compared to The Quarry and every entry in yhe dark anthology series. Illbleed is a classic ffs.
Cope
Wouldn't complain a lovely young lady like you Ashton would be hiding under my bed 💖
All horror games and movies are bad (and not to mention silly).
No
The only thing bad and silly here is your opinion on horror.
Wow, easy edgelord
Ye Silent Hill 2 is “bad” and “silly” 🧐
