34067 Tangmere - The Settle & Carlisle Winter Express & 40013 - The Whistling Highlander - 24/02/24

34067 Tangmere with The Settle & Carlisle Winter Express (Carnforth - Shap - Carlisle - Appleby - Hellifield - Blackburn - Preston) on Saturday 24th February 2024. The tour started at Bristol Temple Meads with 47826 leading and 57314 (Conwy Castle) on the back. Tangmere replaced 47826 at Carnforth and came off at Preston on the return leg where 47826 rejoined the train to complete the return to Bristol with 57314.
The train is seen passing Shap Wells on the climb to Shap on the West Coast Mainline on the outward leg and at Dandry Mire Viaduct, Garsdale on the Settle & Carlisle line on the return where the train was rjunning 23 minutes early and caught me unawares.
There is also a short sequence of 40013 (D213) and 47805 (D1935) with The Whistling Highlander - Day 1 (Crewe - Carlisle - Beatock - Stirling - Perth - Inverness) passing Oubeck Goods Loops earlier in the day.

Thank you C&A. She seems to make a fair bit of exhaust (as did her sister City of Wells). Not to mention the small smoke ring at 1.19 but not as good as the ring she did a couple weeks ago in the video by @nige7577. Keep well - Chris

Thank you David A bit of sun and plenty of exhaust made for a pleasant day out. As I 've mentioned elsewhere a couple of things on Shap made me smile - the crow overtaking the train (0.26-0.46) and an embryonic smoke ring (1.18). Take care Chris

Sunshine and smoke rings Chris, lovley pit panning at shap, working well today with the Blue Grey carrigages, caught the 40 as well busy day, cheers Steve .

I caught the settle and Carlisle winter express myself and it had a 47 at the front and the 57 at the back at stoke works junction
