- Join Shawn & Charlotte as we head to Alton Towers for the first day of the 2020 season! Theme Parks in the United Kingdom were allowed to reopen on Saturday July 4th and in this vlog we head to the biggest theme park in the country, to check out all of the different changes. The ride offering was limited, however it was great to get back on some of our favourite rides in the UK such as Nemesis, Wicker Man and The Smiler. We also share footage of how social distancing is working throughout the park along with taking a look at the cleaning measures and loading procedures taking place on each ride.

After reading everything that is going on I would just like to say that I met you a couple of times, once at Alton Towers and once at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and you were a very decent lad to talk to. My son asked if he could have a picture with you and you were more than happy, never moaned or pulled a face and you made his day so on a personal level, you seem like a really decent man. Must have been mixed emotions for you yesterday but if you've nothing to hide then don't hide. Thanks again

@@Marsllama I've done my research since your comment. I take it back. I apologise to any victims or their friends or families who read my uneducated remarks. I hope this is fully investigated and see there's a fair end to this. Trial by twitter isn't the right way. Needs to be done through the proper system, preferably resolved behind closed doors.
Their victims will get the justice they deserve to see happen that way.
But surely even the victims don't want any channel members hurting themselves to the point of suicide. Social media has always done that unfortunately. Needs to be a fair trial for everybody both sides. Pressure is on for everyone until it's over.

I can't watch this without feeling angered and sick to my stomach, at least acknowledge the victims of your friends, a simple apology to those effected would help a lot... even just a, we at tpww stand with those who have spoke up kinda thing would do a lot of good.

Weve just got back from being there for a few days....my son had such a fun time....hes a big rollercoaster fanatic!! They opened Rita yesterday(Thursday) he managed to ride 3 times before the ques started. Thankyou Alton Towers for a fun time.

Going to alton towers today leaving early i really shouldn't be awake right now, im not the type to go on all the crazy rides, i went on rita and it was mad, 60 mph in 2 seconds took me out lmao.

I was happy to finally ride galactica when I went there. One thing I learnt while wearing my face mask is that (after eating) you should wipe your mouth before putting your face mask back on. Otherwise your mask will get the stains of the food (especially if it’s Doritos, chocolate etc) where your mouth is. From personal experience, the feeling of having quite a rough texture pressed against your mouth for an extended period isn’t the best feeling in the world

Smiler has that roar that I didn’t have last season again
Going at the end of this month if there isn’t a second wave. So so excited to be back and be able to ride nemesis.
I first went Alton Tower in the early 80s..maybe 82 on a school trip and my god the excitement. This was obvs before internet/youtube so all you knew about the rides was legends and stories that someone lucky enough to had been would tell..youndidnt know if true or fiction so you formed your own thoughts. The fear i had built up for the Black Hole cos of this was immense!! The excitement and wonder for Cine 180 and 2000...i just couldnt imagine it! The Cork Screw was the big one and we would talk about if we dared go on it based on whatvwe had heard!! Even the Pirate Ship which is prob considered tame now had fear status!! To visit that park without any real prior knowledge of what you were gonna experince just increased the excitement 10 fold!!! Great times!!
I'm starting my theme parks this year where I left off. I was at Disneyland Paris from the Wednesday-Saturday when it closed and I'm going back for the annual pass days on the 13th and 14th.
My last rollercoaster ride was Big Thunder Mountain and hopefully that will be my first back
hey i was at disney land paris on new years enjoy the rides for me i love it so much there and big thunder mountain has to be one of the best their!

Rewatching this in December 2022 and its crazy that this was over 2 years ago. Doesn’t feel like it at all haha. Feels like it was like last month 😂. It’s also crazy to see how different Alton towers is now compared to how it was in this vlog haha

Quite a good vlog although I find it really sad that places like Alton Towers have to have social distances measures and masks wearing enforced on the guests. The sooner we get back to normal the better and then we can really enjoy the theme parks again.
