I thought this part would be easy... but I'd gloved up already and tried to remember it and... yeah, this is so useful! Such a concise and waste-less way to do it, you're the man!
The more you do anything the easier it will get but until then im glad the vid was here to walk you through it. I appreciate your support my friend and Keep Rocking!!! đ€đ€đ€
Sitting here learning how to wrap my new JavelinX, your videos have been on repeat since I starting learning! Cheers, and TYFYS (from a former member of CAF) đ€đ»
Thats Awesome brother!!! Keep ROcking my friend you got this!!! đ€đ€
That's what I'm talking about.. Consistent! Thanks brother!
I actually had some good luck today on those eternal inks I ordered.. they delivered them on Friday.. and again today! BOGO! I do love the ink though. Purple Concentrate is perfect for my outer space tattoo. Ultra dark. Still waiting on my Q3 though.. UPS had to put shipping on hold due to "public demonstrations"- better safe than sorry.
Thats Awesome so happy to hear that you are loving the new colors!!!!!! And yeah better safe then sorry, im sure you'll be even more ready for the machine when it comes in!!! Keep ROcking Graffics!!!! đ€đ€đ€

@@ArtSomething I sure will Brodie thank you for taking the time out of you're day to responding back see yahđ€đ€ looking forward to the next video
ATM Since I couldn't find sleeves for pen machine I just use 2 barrier film pieces. One for the "body" that I wrap around and secure with a piece of tape and one for the grip like you did here & in your first "wrap" video. Works fine & it's fast ! (Mine has the battery built-in so it's really just one big tube to wrap)
Thanks for sharing that Dranonium!!! Sounds like a good system you have there!!! đ€đ€
So helpful ! big thanks man !
No problem Zeebra glad it helped!! đ€đ€
Thank you so much for your videos! So helpful. I tried using the Starryshine barrier film to pull over my Ambition rotary pen, and it won't stick.. It's not very textured but it's definitely not squeaky smooth like an aluminum surface. Do you think this is normal? (Your other barrier film link doesn't lead to a product.. do you have an alternative recommendation if you think this is a barrier film brand issue?)
Love this gloves in your hands too đ€€
Great video bro,I saw a pen that I was thinking about getting on Amazon
Go for it King!! Give it a try and let us know how it goes!! đđđ€đ€
Excellent tip dude! đđđ
I also cover my machines (depending which one I'll use) with plastic bags, cord sleeves or pen sleeves.
I have seen (personally an in videos) many artists, even some famous, who only cover the clip cord. đšđ
I have I have seen and heard that as well. It would definitely save a step and save some contact film. In fact I might give that a try and see how I like it. Iâve just always stuck to what Iâve done from the beginning so I think itâs time I give it a try.đđ thanks boss appreciate you watch in brother and Support and the channelđ€đ€đ€
@@ArtSomething Thanks for share and keep rockin' bro! đ€
Keep up the great videos, buddy. Do you find that you can adjust your needle depth after the machine is wrapped like this? Or once itâs wrapped you just stick with that depth?
Half a coheban wrap roll that you need to change in between every tattoo seems a bit pricey, no ? Any idea for cheaper alternative? ATM I don't feel the need for something like that with my machine but I'm only training, who knows when I'll be tattooing for 4 hours straight. Also, thanks a bunch for your videos! They definitely answered some basic questions I had for starting my tattooing journey! Now that I've finally received all I need I can't stop doing that all day. (thanks quarantine !)
Hello there! I am not a tattoo artist but I am interested in becoming one. But out curiosity when the battery supply runs out and you have to change it, do you have to re set up your machine with clean barriers? How do you properly change out your battery in a sanitary way without contaminating anything? Love your videos! Thanks!
great video . i almost use the same technic đđđđ
Nice!! đ€đ€
Hey man thanks for the tips!! Could you say how to clean properly when you're tattooing on fake skin? or any mix video about these would help!
I use a&d ointment to clean during and after, some types of fake skins dont clean up as well as others do I prefer the thinner silicone type
Which one you think At work better cnc q2 or cnc q5
Love your videos
Thank you Jun!!! And thanks for watching!! đ€đ€
What clip cord covers are you using mine arenât fat enough to fit my q-2 in
2 questions: 1, How do you adjust the needle depth once it's all wrapped? Is it possible? I tore my plastic barrier trying to adjust it and had to rewrap the whole machine. 2: Why add the barrier at the bottom and not just pop a hole in the clip cover itself on the closed end?
I personally haven't had any problems but If you had to make some huge adjustments in regard to the needle throw then yes you may get bound up. But for me I dont have any problems running this way. But if this doesnt work for you then absolutely use the clip cord sleeve in place of the barrier film. In fact I may have to give that a go. I guess I like the idea of the barrier film but thats just my OCD lol. Thanks Abe, appreciate it brother!!
@@ArtSomething I appreciate you always taking the time to answer these comments! You rock Dude!đ
Hey man love ur videos. How do you find the cnc q2 so far? Is it good for lining, shading, packing?
Thanks a lot.
So far I really like it. Seems to be pretty well rounded. And thank you for watching and supporting!!đ€đ€đ€đ€
Excellent as per
Thank you Darren!!! đđđ€
Sorry if someone has already asked this. So I have a HYPERION pen style machine with the wireless battery pack and tried wrapping it this way and ran into a problem. How do you change the needle depth without messing up the barrier/wrap? I was using a liner cartridge (3RL) then switched to a 15mag curved cartridge.
Thats the tricky part but in this case you will have to make small adjustments to keep the plastic barrier from ripping.
I hope that makes sense.
so if that battery dies you have to breakdown the whole thing ? is this method good for adjjusting the needle during session ? cool video
Do you have to re wrap it if you have to adjust the depth ???
My name is jack. I am running at 7volts and still I snag. Should I turn up my voltage or what would you have to say about it?
Good job đđ
Thanks James I appreciate that đđ€đ€
Do you have to autoclave your grip after? Or just rip at the barrier n what not off and wipe down your machine?
I just dispose of the barrier and clean the machine using cavicide.
What kind of tattoo gun did just start of using?
Do you have a platform where people can message you? I'm looking at a Dragonhawk tattoo machine and I can't tell if the needle cartridges are singular needles or multiple. I read single needles are less desired
Do you recommend wrapping/covering even during practice ? (On fake skin sheets)
I definitely recommend it. As its important to just get use to doing things the same way no matter practicing or performing a tattoo. Best of luck to you and thanks for watching Taye!! đ€đ€
I am currently using the spektra xion and the hawink wireless tattoo battery (that is my favorite on the market, good and cheap and lasts for 8 hours), so I practically wrap my machine as you explained on this video except for the barrier, do you think it is mandatory to use that barrier? I mean, if you are using autoclave after each tattoo I think with just the clip cord cover is fine...or not?
Yes if you are using autoclave then you are find. I dont use an autoclave so I ensure I wrap everything up real tight and sterilize everything well after each tattoo. And I love the wireless life, defiantly the life for me lol. Thanks for watching RVA and I appreciate your support! đ€đ€đ€
Art-Something definitely wireless is the way to go...I hated the cables since day one đ
Could you share the link for the cartridges you use for the cnc machine please? (:
What wireless power supply are using for this machine?
I'm saving up for my first rotary pen what would you say what pen would be best for your first cnc/pen machine
I would say the CNC pen is a solid first machine and its under 200 bucks. I know that sounds like a lot but I think you get a solid machine for your money. I wont use this machine for ever as I have my eye on some new equipment but its a nice machine. But for your fist machine just get something to get you started cause you can always upgrade down the road when you understand more about what you like and dont like in a machine. Hope this helps man. Thanks for watching!!! đ€đ€đ€
@@ArtSomething I have a good idea I been working with a coil machine for about two weeks my brother tattoos and he tells me to save my money to buy a mid end machine rotary he says it more consistent and less of a hassle to set up then a coil machine. If it's cool you have a favorite online shop you would recommend? Thanks for all your help much appreciated
does the cnc machine create an odd odor when running it?? mine does, like gas/ motor oil. idk but its strong. u smell it when u unscrew the cartridge piece .
Yeah thatâs machining residue. You want to clean all that up. And thanks for the questionđ€đ
@@ArtSomething
I'm a new artists on a budget, I've got a rotary machine but its cheap and I want to invest in a pen kit. Do you have any experience with Dragonhawk pens and what pen kit would you recommend? I run my setup close to yours at 8 to 8.5 volts with the needle out enough to float it. I rarely ride the tune
No unfortunately I donât really have any experience with dragon hawk tattoo machines. I havenât heard anything really bad about them. Now I have use the CNCQ2 and found that to be a really solid machine Iâm still using that machine over my Cheyenne at the moment. Thanks again Josh appreciate you man hope this helped!! đ€đ€đ€
I got a dragon hawk. Itâs a nice machine. The foot pedal is a little cheap though.
Been looking at this machine for a while now. I don't have an autoclave, i currently use disposable everything. Apologies if its a stupid question, but if i got this machine and wrapped it like this would it require the autoclave after tattooing aswell or is a wrap and wipe down plenty? Safety is at the top of my list and i wanna be sure lol
I donât use and autoclave anymore because I went disposable. So yes you donât need an autoclave. Just wrap it weâll make sure there is a good solid barrier on your machine. After the tattoo make sure you clean everything and make sure you use something like caviside to sterilize your machine. I hope this helps. I will be making a video on this in a few weeks. Thanks for the question Carlđ appreciate you watching.good on you for trying to stay safe and clean with your practicesđ€đ€
@@ArtSomething that's just the info i needed, Thanks for your help and i hope life is treating you well
Hey, did you ever make an video on sterilizing your machine with caviside?
what is the power supply you are using here?
Loving these videos, definitely learning a lot and the quality is fantastic
Thats awesome to hear Rehd so cool that the videos are helping you out!! And thank you so much for the support!! You Keep Rocking Rehd and dont stop!! đ€đ€đ€đ€
Why do we need to wrap the tattoo gun what does it help with?
it helps with cross contamination, when you touch your client with the gloves and then the tattoo machine and potentionally get blood infection etc
How about when you have to adjust your machine/power supply during a tattoo?
Its really easy everything can be done with the machine wrapped up. Only you will have to take the tape off the back and take the battery off and put another on if you need to change batteries but other then that its pretty simple. Thanks for the question Evander!! And thanks for watching!! đ€đ€đ€đ€
Art-Something thanks for the response & been watching since the first video! Thanks for all the tips âđŸ
If the clip cord sleeve is secured under the sports wrap, and you go to make any adjustments, doesnât that tear the sleeve open?
hey man, how are you ? is there any difference in a rotary machine, if its spinning in a anticlockwise
or a clockwise direction ? thanks for the videos and hugs from Brazil !!
No
@@PropDusting thanks, I saw some guys here on youtube complaining about it, I thought better ask :D
Can u still turn pen to make needle length more or less
yes you can you just have to make small rotations as to not rip the plastic. It can be a pain in the butt at times.
I am saving money to starting the journey of tattoo art but i am a little confused. You dont need a standar foot pedal to control the machine when you have a wirelees power supply?
If youâre running a wireless power supply then you donât need a footpedal at least not for the set up that I have. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!! đđđ€đ€
Hi @@ArtSomething I-m handle watching you videos by two accounts I have, so sorry for the mess on old post,
my question is about the footpedal, can I have both (footpedal + powersupply battery) in the same pen CNC Q2?
I'm willing to buy one and it for me is very important. but probably ill try get it from Germany (but I didnt find the same as ya have yet :( ) once I live in Ireland, From US is pretty complicate to get like yours.
greetings from Dublin, ya rock doode
Hows that battery pack been holding up? I just ordered one for my bishop wands. Is it heavy??
ITs been holding up great really happy with it so far. No not heavy at all pretty comfortable. Thanks for watching Jay!!
Hi just ordered my CNC Q2 short pen what wireless pack should fit well I know u mentioned 2 types will I need to convert it?
Another well explained great quality vid thanks Dave

Damn I'm second
Staying busy my friend!! Hope all is going well for you brother!!! And thanks for being the first to comment!! đ€đ€
How are you sterilizing your machine after use?
I'm curious, what's the purpose of having such a thick grip on your machines with sports wrap? is it to level out the weight of the machine? or is it preference??
Your videos are really good for note taking and overall learning, thanks dude!
It's a preference of comfort. I use 1œ inch grips while my coworkers prefer 1and 2 inch grips. You really just want the machine resting in your grip, tensing your wrist and hand muscles make not for a long tattoo career. A relaxed grip on your machine is also better for pulling/pushing lines and the more rhythmic hand motions for packing/shading.
@@deadweight2049 Oh right on, that's why my wrist tends to get sore, the machine weight. Thanks for the response
Dave I know that my state requires an autoclave for sterilization, how do you sterilize your pen? I know you can't stick the pen gun in the autoclave. I want to know all I can about having a safe and sterile environment/tools.
I use cavicide spray. It has a three min kill time of pretty much everything lol. I will be doing a video on this in the coming weeks. But good on you Robert for trying to be as sterile as possible.!! đ€đ€
just got my tattoo machine and had no idea how to wrap it, so it helped a lot.
Thatâs great to hear glad the video could helpđ€đ
Do you have any feedback on the cnc machine
I like it so far. Pretty solid machine. Seems good all around. And Thanks for watching Billy đ€đ€
Speaking of Hawink stuff.... Have you ever tried their ink?
No sorry Charlie i have never tried their ink.
@@ArtSomething its not ever listed on any "top 5" ink article ive read. But.... I am impressed with the quality/price line that Hawink seems to put out with their products. I might have to try it out and give you an honest opinion on it.
If my rotary has a exposed plunger bar, Can i just cover it with a clip cord sleeve? how do i cover the moving plunger bar?
You can cover the moving plunger bar with the clip cord sleeve as well it just may make noise moving around inside the sleeve. If the sound bothers you, don't cover it next time.
Thanks for helping out Mark I really appreciate that brother!!!! đ€đ€đ€đ€
When you change a needles!?
I usually have about 3 different needles set up for each tattoo (typically that is). I will change back and forth between those 2 or 3 needles throughout the tattoo. Once the tattoo is over I dispose of the needles into a sharps container. I hope this helps answer your question and thank you for watching. đđ€
@@ArtSomething pretty clear ,thank you so much!
what type of needle are you using?
I like to use Kwadron cartridge needles.
Art-Something thank you so much.
Wouldn't some customers complain if you poke the plastic with the needle ?
Why not just fold the clipcord cover. Then u wont need the barrier film.
You could do that too. This is just how I do it. But cool to hear how others wrap their machines đ€đ€

I don't generally do step one or two since I'm not doing them professionally and I feel comfortable enough without wrapping. Just the sport wrap for comfort. Also, I've never had an infection or any problems not wrapping.
